This tasteful, limited vinyl contains, recorded between summer 1969 and autumn 1970, only on ultra-rare BBC radio promotional vinyls - genuinely fantastic material by a hard rock formation led initially by vocalist Cliff Bennett and guitarist Ken Hensley. The band also featured drummer Lee Kerslake (ex-The Gods - later for 35 years in Uriah Heep). Several tracks (covers) never appeared on the main records, while the rest are here in much better and heavier versions! To tell the truth, this is the kind of guitar playing (the excellent Alan Kendall - later for many years in the band... Bee Gees) that totally drops your jaw! On the 1970 recordings the band reaches the level of Led Zeppelin's best work! 50 minutes in perfect sound quality! This vinyl edition sounds even better than the CD - it has more bass. The black, heavy vinyl plays loud and without crackle! This is an absolute must! Condition: NEW, unsealed. (JL) -

Remastered edition of the debut album, released in 1970 (and worth about 1000 euros in the original in perfect condition - even the reissue from the label Second Battle, from the 90s, is worth 100 euros), by a great German group playing a rather dark variety of progressive rock in the style of Frumpy, Jethro Tull, Out Of Focus, Orange Peel, Julian's Treatment or East Of Eden - with a female vocal. 63 minutes of sophisticated, yet catchy, juicy music with the use of wind instruments (sax, flute). In terms of the instrumental layer it is an impeccable record, though some people have a problem getting used to the voice of the vocalist, who is somewhat reminiscent of Inga Rumpf (of Frumpy). I happen to like that vocal, besides there is not much of it. A classic of German rock - tasting much better after two or three listens! The CD contains a bonus track from a rare German compilation from 1970. Highly recommended! -

A sensational album - probably the best psychedelic record from South America! On their second album (the earlier mini-album "A Bailar A Go-Go" from 1968 contained single tracks) the band combined in an exceptional way classic, slightly Doors-like and Floyd-like psychedelia - with the sounds of overdriven, Hendrix-like guitars, with folk-ballad atmospheres and with occasional flute or saxophone parts. The result was material that is very original, very intense and above all completely different from, say, European or American psychedelic rock! New, sealed. -

Another carefully prepared Ethelion reissue, in a gatefold sleeve. Released originally in December 1970, the second in the discography, the best-known and most appreciated album by the British hard-rock trio, playing in the line-up: Glenn Hughes (bass and vocals), the guitarist Mel Galley (years later in Whitesnake) and the drummer Dave Holland (later in Judas Priest). The band played heavily, rather slowly, but with flair, and the album itself, alongside Deep Purple's LP "Burn", remains the best item in Glenn Hughes's career. Highly recommended! An English band made up of musicians whose greatest fame was still ahead of them: Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Mel Galley (Whitesnake) and Dave Holland (Judas Priest). Recommended to all lovers of British psychedelia of the Rubble kind! The additional CD contains only previously unpublished recordings: four demo tracks, including an early version of "Seafull", which appeared on the LP "Medusa", three tracks from a BBC Session ("Another Day" and two different versions of "Send No More Letters") and tracks from July 1969, recorded at the LaFayette club in Wolverhampton for the programme "Colour Me Pop". -

The additional discs contain bonus tracks from a single and a recording of previously unpublished live material from 23 March 1971 at Colden Hall in New York and from various performances during the tour of the USA, from the same year. -

Released in 1970, the superb debut album by an excellent progressive band from Italy (two Italians and two Englishmen) - now enriched with three bonus tracks (the great, premiere single "Fantasia" from 1970 and "Bolero Blues" taken from a rare vinyl compilation from 1969) added at the end of each side. English, very nice vocals, plenty of overdriven Hammond organ (including on the somewhat... overlong introduction to the album), dynamic, slightly bluesy guitar parts and a still palpable, strongly psychedelic mood of the late 60s. In 1967 Ritchie Blackmore played in this band for a while... but he returned to the British Isles and immediately founded Deep Purple. His two mates, meanwhile, stayed in Italy! A beautiful, laminated sleeve and excellent pressing! A must! -

Originally released by Cotillion in 1970, the only, but excellent, album by a Canadian trio playing a combination of a heavy variety of psychedelic rock with strong vocals - in the style of Hendrix and Sir Lord Baltimore, with elements of Eastern European (mainly Ukrainian) folklore (mandolin) and early Captain Beefheart. There is not a single boring track on the record and I remember that many years ago it was an absolute killer for me! In addition the record includes a 6-minute, heavy guitar number, unreleased on vinyl, from the same recording session! 2024 reissue, in a single sleeve enlivened with two photos. Highly recommended!
