Recorded between summer 1969 and autumn 1970, never released on CD (only on ultra-rare BBC radio promotional vinyls), genuinely fantastic material by a hard rock formation led initially by vocalist Cliff Bennett and guitarist Ken Hensley. The band also featured drummer Lee Kerslake (ex-The Gods - later for 35 years in Uriah Heep). Several tracks (covers) never appeared on the main records, while the rest are here in much better and heavier versions! To tell the truth, this is the kind of guitar playing (the excellent Alan Kendall - later for many years in the band... Bee Gees) that totally drops your jaw! On the 1970 recordings the band reaches the level of Led Zeppelin's best work! Alongside 50 minutes from the BBC sessions (all in perfect quality) four bootleg, live recordings of rather poor quality (including two unknown compositions) are included and - attention - the debut single from 1967 (made by Polydor Records) by the group The Gods (Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake + a very young Mick Taylor), unreleased on CD - worth almost a thousand euros on vinyl! This is an absolute must!
