On CD for the first time outside South Korea! Remastered edition of the excellent, cult psychedelic album recorded under an assumed name by musicians of the Italian progressive formation Nuova Idea! The material was made long before their excellent debut "In The Beginning" (1971). "Underground Set" contained instrumental, mostly short tracks based on the rich sound of Hammond organ, overdriven guitar and a juicy rhythm section - close to the Italian Blue Phantom, and to some extent also the German Bokaj Retsiem and Hell Preachers Inc. or the British Ugly Custard. Pieces that you can sometimes hear and see (in gentler versions) in old European films from the late 60s - today much sought after and prized by vinyl collectors! I admit that I really like this album (once released also in Germany, France and Great Britain) - even despite two or three weaker (too easy) passages! In addition four superb tracks from three rare Italian singles are included! The front of the CD bears the cover borrowed from the British vinyl, while the Italian design came in yellow-and-black colours. Highly recommended! -

The debut LP "Nador", released in 1970, is simply superb! It has always been one of my favourite records from France! To tell the truth, nobody in France was probably playing heavy guitar rock at the time (with a mighty rhythm section and English vocals) in the vein of Led Zeppelin and The Who mixed with a few ballads. I am not counting the Hendrix-fascinated Chico Magnetic Band, because that was somewhat different playing. In any case this album is a real monster! In addition, twelve great bonus tracks - mainly from singles. A must! (JL) -

Under this somewhat complicated title ("Look at the sun - precious seconds thought to be irretrievable...") hides another fantastic compilation from the collectors' label Top Sounds - hitherto known for the three parts of the psychedelic series "Shapes & Sounds" (containing fantastic recordings from the BBC archives) and the compilation "Alphabeat" (containing very rare British bands ripped from super rare vinyls/acetates). The fifth title contains both BBC recordings (T2 x 2 - both unknown, including one from the same session as the three bonus tracks on the "Boomland" CD; Kaleidoscope x 2 - one unknown and one in better quality than on the BBC CD; Elastic Band with Paul McCartney's brother on vocals - unknown; Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera x 2 - both unknown and The Fleur De Lys - unknown) and great tracks by little-known or completely forgotten groups, including the great, psychedelic, Floyd-like formation Louise (two tracks), in which played the future guitarist of the group Fuchsia and... drummer Chris Cutler - later a member of Henry Cow and owner of the label Recommended Records. Either way, for relatively little money (compared with the originals worth many thousands...) you can have a chunk of fantastic playing (67 minutes) - and what is more, wonderfully packaged (32-page booklet). Both T2 tracks are placed on a 7-inch single (at 45 RPM). It is worth knowing, though, that the CD contains two more tracks by the unknown group The Glass Opening. A MUST! THE VINYL IS OUT OF PRINT - WE HAVE THE LAST COPIES! -

Zabriskie Point is a place in the famous Death Valley in California. Riots break out at the university in Los Angeles. Black students protesting against racial discrimination are joined by white ones. They demand equal rights and the provision of jobs. During a demonstration a policeman is killed. A witness to the events is Mark, who flees the city in a stolen light aircraft, thereby casting suspicion on himself of taking part in the shooting in which the policeman died. In the Arizona desert he meets the hippie Daria. A 1970 film by Michelangelo Antonioni, known mainly for the fact that the band Pink Floyd were co-creators of the soundtrack. -

A great and very tastefully produced (a rigid box containing a superb 36-page booklet + 3 card sleeves in cardboard slipcases) nearly 4-hour anthology of British heavy, (more or less) psychedelic rock (underground) from the turn of the 60s and 70s. Some of the tracks appeared only on rare singles (e.g. a mega-rare version of a Taste track)! Limited number of copies! The band on the cover is Little Free Rock, whose CD we recommend very, very much! A MUST! -

The only exception was the relatively well-known Scottish group The Poets - represented here by 2 very rare recordings from 1969 (including one promoting a soft drink...). Highly recommended! -

A three-disc set containing the first complete anthology of the British band, playing a very eclectic variety of rock, combining the style of Skip Bifferty, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Move and early Pink Floyd. The first two CDs are the stereo and mono versions of the only album credited as Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera, an absolute masterpiece of the psychedelic era - with sitar, Mellotron, sound effects, funny announcements, and so on. The third disc contains the record "Ride A Hustler's Dream" from 1969, recorded already without Elmer Gantry, under the name Velvet Opera. The music on it is a combination of blues, folk and pop-psychedelia - somewhat in the vein of early Blossom Toes, late The Beatles and early Strawbs. Each CD has bonus tracks added, including other studio versions, demo recordings, singles and 50 minutes of tracks from BBC sessions, most of which have never been released. A must!
