DRUID - DRUID - Toward The Sun - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Australian, remastered edition of the debut album by a British group performing progressive rock in the vein of the output of early Camel (especially in the guitar parts) and Yes of 1972-74. This truly nice record is dominated by three epic, extended compositions averaging 8-10 minutes, characterised by classic, rich keyboard sound, numerous changes of mood and excellent arrangements. Recommended. -

DSCHINN - DSCHINN - Dschinn +4 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in 1972, the only album by the German band Dschinn belongs to the most interesting items in the catalogue of Bacillus Records, the label owned by Bellaphon. The band went for compact, guitar-driven compositions combining hard rock, psychedelia and blues, with distinct influences of British progressive artists of the early 70s. Among the record's greatest assets are attractive compositions combining catchy melodies with a heavy, bluesy pulse, strong guitar riffs, exceptionally capable playing by the rhythm section and... a great sleeve! The album was recorded in only five days, practically 'live', on four-track equipment, which gave it a raw, authentic sound. Additionally 4 recordings from 1972, unreleased on vinyl, are included. Highly recommended! Condition: new, sealed. (JL) -

EARTH AND FIRE - EARTH AND FIRE - Songs Of The Marching Children +10 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered, limited, European edition (IN THE GERMAN POLYDOR SLEEVE FROM 1972, NEVER USED ON CD) of the excellent second album by the once very popular Dutchmen, released by Polydor in October 1971. Considered by many the best achievement of this progressive band (with a charming, female vocal), recalling here the style of the then Pink Floyd (juicily wailing guitar), early Genesis (beautiful melodies) and the debut of King Crimson (mellotron) with a vocal in the style of Mariska Veres of Shocking Blue. The first side of the record was filled with 4 shorter tracks (including the brilliant, building, flagship 'Storm And Thunder'), while the second part of the original vinyl was taken up by the brilliant, title, multi-part, 18-minute suite, kept in a varied but generally dark mood and enchanting with almost symphonic sweep. What is more interesting, the bonus tracks are in no way inferior to 'the second one' and may even be better! The singles (A and B sides) released at the time were splendid, and the added, television versions sound better and stronger than the originals! The booklet contains a reproduction of the black-and-gold front and middle of the original, Dutch sleeve, so nothing has been lost. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

EARTH AND FIRE - EARTH AND FIRE - Atlantis +7 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered, limited, European edition of the third (and last excellent) album, recorded in autumn 1972 and released by Polydor in March 1973, by Dutchmen playing stylish top-shelf progressive rock in the style of Pink Floyd, Camel, old Genesis, The Moody Blues and Focus - with a great, female vocal. As with the CD 'Songs Of The Marching Children' (also recently released with bonus tracks by Prog Gems), one side of the record is filled by a brilliant, probably even better, delightful 17-minute suite combining stunning melody with the progressive canon. All fans of classic prog rock (wailing but powerful-sounding guitars, analogue synthesiser, Hammond organ, mellotron, dark atmospheres) will be delighted and I know what I'm writing, because over the years I strongly underrated this album! Additionally 7 recordings are added to the disc - including the B-side of a single from 1974 and a nearly 40-minute fragment of a great concert from March 1974 coming from the archive of the band's original sound engineer. Unfortunately, after 1975 (after a nice fourth record) the band turned towards pop music and somewhat tarnished its reputation as, alongside Focus, in my opinion the best progressive band from Holland! The sound is excellent and of course beats hands down the lifeless versions from YouTube or Spotify. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
CD
EARTH AND FIRE - EARTH AND FIRE - Earth And Fire +5 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered, limited, European edition (IN THE VERY RARE JAPANESE POLYDOR VINYL SLEEVE, NEVER BEFORE RELEASED ON CD) of the fantastic debut, released in September 1970, by Dutchmen playing early progressive rock. Splendid, catchy compositions, a dense sound based on the interplay of Hammond organ, mellotron and often heavy guitar (Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Golden Earring and King Crimson in one) and a charming, almost perfect female vocal bringing to mind Shocking Blue and Jefferson Airplane! Tracks such as 'Vivid Shady Land' or the extended, psychedelic 'Love Quiver' will delight every fan of old, ambitious rock! NOTE! 'Wild And Exciting', opening the record, is 20 seconds longer than the version on the old and somewhat worse-sounding Esoteric version, because the Brits were given a tape with the single version (with the splendid guitar solo heavily trimmed) and nobody there noticed... For years this was my favourite album by the band, though recently the next 2 titles, somewhat more sophisticated, have probably equalled it. The CD contains nearly 40 minutes of additional material, including 2 tracks from single B-sides, a splendid version of 'Storm And Thunder' from German 'Beat-Club', but above all the brilliant, extended, as-much-as-24-minute version of 'Song For The Marching Children' from the second album, recorded live in the TV studio (without an audience) in 1972 - perhaps better and more dramatic than the original record version of 1971, which is 5 minutes shorter! The whole sounds excellent - much better than the material on YouTube! The booklet contains reproductions of as many as 3 original sleeves: the Japanese from 1970 (front), the Dutch from 1970 (page 2, while the middle was placed under the tray) and probably the prettiest, but heavily worn, British one from 1971 - by the brilliant Roger Dean (inside). AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
CD
EAST OF EDEN - EAST OF EDEN - Live In Zurich 1970 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, rare and hard-to-get CD containing a superb, 80-minute recording of a performance by the British progressive group that took place in Zurich in January 1970. The band, belonging to the front rank of British rock groups, was then at the peak of its creative powers - with the brilliant debut "Mercator Projected" to its name and with the second album "Snafu" already recorded (released in March). The record contains almost the whole second LP and over half of the debut. The whole thing is opened by a superb cover of "Eight Miles High" from the repertoire of The Byrds. The sound quality is very good - it is an audience recording, but as was often the case with the Swiss recording (on reel-to-reel) - they knew their trade. So this is one of the best audience recordings I have heard! Attention! The record sounds slightly better than the YouTube links I have posted (from another source) - the instruments are better balanced, which makes the wind instruments more clearly audible. A MUST! EAST OF EDEN - EAST OF EDEN - Another Eden +11 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Fifth album (and, hand on heart, the last really good one) by the progressive Brits - recorded in February 1974, but released a year later by German EMI Harvest. Stylistically it resembles the fourth LP in the discography, "New Leaf". In addition as many as eleven bonus tracks (to tell the truth even better than the content of the album), including three super rare tracks from the BBC (two of them from 1971!) and six live recordings from Germany from 1972. All in all the CD lasts as long as 76 minutes! As with all Flawed Gems releases - excellent sound quality! Highly recommended! -
CD
EAST OF EDEN - EAST OF EDEN - East Of Eden (3rd Album) - GER Repertoire Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The third album by one of the best British bands of the turn of the 60s and 70s! On "East Of Eden" the band changed its line-up (only the violinist - Dave Arbus - remained), and in the process its style somewhat, almost entirely giving up the psychedelic or jazz madness known from the earlier records and concentrating on somewhat heavier playing, while not shying away from folk style. Of course it is still pedigree progressive - with attractive violin, flute and saxophone parts, while the guitar was played by one Jim Roche - the first guitarist of Colosseum. An excellent album! A must! (JL) -
CD
EAST OF EDEN - EAST OF EDEN - Mercator Projected +3 - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
A stunner! One of the earliest and at the same time best progressive records ever made! Original, charming rock music - a bit like an early and more dreamy Jethro Tull with a pinch of King Crimson and Colosseum and a touch of Eastern music. You cannot tear yourself away! Remastered British edition including a stunning, 7-minute cover of "Eight Miles High" by The Byrds, as well as two demo recordings (of excellent quality) running to 18 minutes together! An absolute must! (JL) -
CD
EAST OF EDEN - EAST OF EDEN - New Leaf +5 - AUS Progressive Line Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A somewhat weaker continuation of the style known from the third record - the same year of release, the same label on vinyl (Harvest), but the band toned things down. The album starts excellently, but then the tracks became shorter and the melodies somewhat simplified. Five bonus tracks added, from singles from 1970-73. -
CD
EAST OF EDEN - EAST OF EDEN - Snafu +7 - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Remastered British edition with plenty (33 minutes) of unreleased material! Another stunning title from the East Of Eden catalogue. On the second album (after the brilliant LP "Mercator Projected" from 1969) the band kept digging into Eastern territory, adding a little more jazz in the process, and also experimenting psychedelically with tape speed shifts... A fascinating and, of course, decidedly progressive record! Additionally, among others, three unreleased, dynamic tracks that are the sum of the first two albums! A must! -
CD
ECLECTION (see also: Fotheringay/Fairport Convention) - ECLECTION - Eclection +11 - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered, Swedish, much better-sounding and, most importantly, expanded with single tracks and BBC radio sessions, edition of the brilliant, unfortunately only album by a British (or rather international) folk-psych-progressive formation - recorded in London in 1968 and released by Elektra (the label of The Doors and Love). This album, so underrated in its day, was filled with very vivid, thoroughly charming and wonderfully arranged music, seducing with subtle melodies, graceful (female-male) vocal parts and an unrepeatable, late-psychedelic mood. The whole thing resembles the best moments of It's A Beautiful Day, Jefferson Airplane and Fairport Convention, though the sound at times was even juicier. Compared with the very muffled, earlier American CD this edition sounds simply brilliant. The bonus tracks, meanwhile, are downright fantastic (especially the wonderful "Mark Time"), and the single mono versions are more dynamic than the stereo mixes from the record! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! -
CD
ECLECTION (see also: Fotheringay/Fairport Convention) - ECLECTION - Eclection +3 - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
A brilliant, unfortunately sole album by a British (or rather international) folk-psych-progressive band - recorded in London in 1968 and released by Elektra (the label of The Doors and Love). This once very underrated album was filled with very vivid, totally enchanting and wonderfully arranged music seducing with subtle melodics, neat (male-female) vocal parts and a unique, late-psychedelic mood. The whole recalls the best moments of It's A Beautiful Day, Jefferson Airplane and Fairport Convention, though the sound at times was even juicier. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! -
CD
EDEN ROSE - EDEN ROSE - On The Way To Eden +2 - US Lion Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
Released in 1970, the unfortunately only album by a great French formation, later transformed into the much more popular band Sandrose. The music of Eden Rose is early-progressive, organ-and-guitar, entirely instrumental (and good!) playing, a blend of the output of Procol Harum, Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, a more progressive Brian Auger and Hell Preachers Inc. Eight substantial, unembellished, at moments strongly classicising tracks with great, overdriven guitar parts and juicy Hammond organ. That is how they played only in 1969-70! Plus two tracks from a rare single. A MUST! (JL) -
CD
EDWARD BEAR - EDWARD BEAR - Eclipse - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Released in 1970 by Capitol, the group's second album, like the debut (only minimally better), is for us an incredible sensation and another reason that there is still plenty of excellent, old, top-shelf music left to discover! This relatively (still) unknown album is a sophisticated and catchy combination of early prog rock, late, rock psychedelia, blues and ambitious, baroque pop. Procol Harum, The Beatles, Andwella's Dream, early Traffic, Cream - these are the names to which the music of this underrated formation can be compared. The sound engineer was Terry Brown - later producer of the best Rush records. In 1972 the band changed its line-up somewhat, mellowed, recorded the pleasant, very catchy Last Song (no. 3 in the States), then the mega-popular LP Edward Bear (1973) and became a pop-rock star (and Quentin Tarantino's favourite group), as a result of which the excellent two earlier albums were forgotten for years. A MUST! -
CD
EGG (see also: Arzachel / Khan / Groundhogs) - EGG - BBC Sessions And More (November 1968 - March 1972) - FRA On The Air - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, very rare, unofficial CD containing 80 minutes (60 of them from the BBC radio archives) of superb playing in the organ/bass + drums style. In 1969-1971 the trio Egg (and also its alter ego: Arzachel) was the top progressive shelf. The whole thing is opened by four tracks from 1972, three of which came out in 1974 on the third album! It is also worth noting the superb, live versions of tracks from the second album ("Long Piece No 3" and "A Visit In Newport Hospital") - unlike those posted on YouTube - 50% better sounding and presented at the correct speed (on YT both are too sloooow). In addition, among others, the excellent live "Saturn" by Gustav Holst, unreleased on any record, three studio tracks from the BBC, from 1969 and three super rare studio numbers from 1968 - when the band was still playing as Uriel. The sound quality is almost ideal, or very, very good (always better than on YT). A MUST! -
CD
EGG (see also: Arzachel / Khan / Groundhogs) - EGG - Civil Surface - UK Esoteric - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The third and unfortunately last album by the band, recorded with an unchanged line-up (at times accompanied by musicians from the Henry Cow circle). The music is still the same as before - with slight changes. Every lover of the previous two titles will automatically like this album. British CD from Esoteric. Highly recommended! -
CD
EGG (see also: Arzachel / Khan / Groundhogs) - EGG - Egg +2 - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Remastered and expanded Esoteric edition, with two bonuses from the first single (1969) and with the missing/previously unreleased fragment of the 20-minute suite! Egg is one of my favourite progressive bands - combining elements of the style of The Nice and early Soft Machine (overdriven Hammond organ) with a rhythm section hitting hard with almost mathematical precision. The music itself may be a little "far out", but it is still dynamic, rock. For seekers of strong musical sensations. The same band recorded a brilliant record as Arzachel. An absolute must! -
CD
EGG (see also: Arzachel / Khan / Groundhogs) - EGG - Polite Force - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Remastered British Esoteric edition of the excellent second album by the group - just as good as the debut! Only four tracks - including another 20-minute suite. A must! (JL) -
CD
EILIFF - EILIFF - Eiliff / Girlrls - GER Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Great, classically progressive, slightly jazzy krautrock playing in the style of Emergency, Thirsty Moon and to some extent Colosseum. Excellent production! Both studio albums (the debut from 1971, and the 'second' with the revolting cover, from 1972) were once released by Philips. Highly recommended! (JL) -
CD
EKSEPTION (see also: Trace) - EKSEPTION - Selected Ekseption (2CD) - EU Editionprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
A double compilation from 1999, featuring tracks from 1969-1976. -
CD
EKSEPTION (see also: Trace) - EKSEPTION - Beggar Julia's Time Trip - BRA Edition - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The second album by a Dutch progressive band, based mainly on transcriptions of works of classical music. An album quite widely considered the most 'progressive' in this band's career. -
CD
ELASTIC BAND (see also: Sweet / Mayfield's Mule) - ELASTIC BAND - Expansions On Life +4 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A long-awaited edition of the only, but great, album, released by Decca in January 1970, by a British progressive band playing ambitious blues-jazz-psych rock typical of 1969, with saxophone, flute and Hammond organ, in the vein of early Jethro Tull (from the period of the debut LP "This Was"), Procol Harum, and even The Moody Blues - with a vocal reminiscent of David Clayton-Thomas of Blood Sweat And Tears. On guitar was the underrated Andy Scott - already a year later attacking with riffs in Sweet. Additionally four decent recordings from rhythm'n'blues/pop-psychedelic singles from 1968. A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL)
