YES - YES - In Concert 1971 - FRA On The Air Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A rare European CD limited to 500 copies, a 77-minute and truly excellent compilation of very rare or unique recordings by the band from its early, breakthrough (just before it won popularity) period - recorded between January and July 1971 (with Bill Bruford on drums and Tony Kaye on organ), during the tours promoting the albums "Time And The Word" and "The Yes Album". The record contains a unique and very interesting setlist, including a superb, improvised, 16-minute version of "America" from the repertoire of Simon & Garfunkel, the 11-minute "It's Love" by the American band The Rascals, known from the second record, fantastic and heavily altered versions of the progressive "Astral Traveller" and the absolutely brilliant "Everydays" from the repertoire of Buffalo Springfield and finally the extended "Yours Is No Disgrace" and "Perpetual Change", lasting 11 and 14 minutes respectively. The sound quality is perfect. In my opinion, alongside the classic "Yessongs", it is the best live Yes material I have ever heard! An absolute must! (JL) -

YES - YES - Live At The Boston Gardens, December 1974 - SPA Top Gear Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Fantastic, fan-club CD, limited to 500 copies, containing an 80-minute (full) recording of a radio concert, recorded and broadcast by the American station King Biscuit Flower Hour, in December 1974 - just after the release of the classic LP "Relayer"! The band played all three tracks from that album, and besides 2/3 of "Close To The Edge" and something extra... The sound quality is almost perfect, and keyboardist Patrick Moraz (ex-Mainhorse/Refugee) made the band sound slightly different from before (and after)! A must! (JL) -

ZAPPA, FRANK - FRANK ZAPPA - Hot Rats - US Zappa Records Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A brilliant, by far the most rock album in the discography of this sorely missed American artist. Everyone who "would like to know everything about Zappa but is afraid to ask" should start with this record. This practically instrumental album (except for "Willie The Pimp" with Captain Beefheart) is almost entirely filled with hot, guitar improvisations - sometimes supported by electric violin parts. A MUST! -

ZAZU - ZAZU - Zazu - US Digipack - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The only album by a forgotten American formation playing somewhat Beatles-esque progressive rock in the vein of the earliest Styx albums. Lots of keyboards, slightly Floyd-like guitars, a touch of jazzy moods. A nice record. -

ZOO (French prog) - ZOO - Zoo - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered version of the classic debut by the cult French formation, playing at that time bluesy, progressive rock with clear influences of psychedelia, soul, jazz, Hendrix and Zappa. Nice guitars, Hammond organ, violin (in the style of Family), a strong rhythm section, a jazzy brass section. It was one of the first rock albums released in France! Attention! This edition is based on the French vinyl from 1969, and NOT on the American compilation of the first two records - released in the same cover. Zoo's second album ("I Shall Be Free" from 1970) is excellent, jazzy, dynamic progressive rock with a British vocalist! I highly recommend both titles! (JL) -

ZOO (French prog) - ZOO - Zoo (1970 US Compilation) - KOR Big Pink Card Sleeve Editionprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
A compilation released in the USA, containing tracks from the first two albums ("Zoo" from 1969 and "I Shall Be Free" from 1970) by the French band. Zoo's music is very dynamic playing based above all on the sound of wind instruments (saxophone, flute), nice Hammond organ parts and quite sharp guitar. Something in the style of Walrus, Hannibal, Colosseum and Chicago Transit Authority. The cover is the same as the one from the debut, which often causes confusion. A South Korean edition in a paper sleeve, from 2020. Highly recommended! (JL)
