The debut record by a band once popular in Canada (earlier, in 1969, known to few for a great, heavy-psychedelic album recorded under the name Nucleus) containing a rather simple and appealing variety of hard rock (with Hammond organ) in the style of the early work of Free, Humble Pie and Jukin' Bone. A really good and underrated album. A remastered 2021 Canadian reissue, on clear vinyl. -

AFFINITY (see also: Linda Hoyle) - AFFINITY - Affinity (4CD BOX) - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Editionprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A four-disc box set from 2021, containing, remastered, all the tracks of the very underrated British band (with the wonderful vocalist Linda Hoyle - see her solo CD). Their only album contains music with a full, dense sound and clear jazz and blues influences. Lots of instrumental parts - especially Hammonds and guitars! A wonderful, 12-minute version of "All Along The Watchtower" and several other gems, such as "Night Flight" or "Three Sisters". Without a doubt one of the best albums ever released by the Vertigo label! The additional CDs contain recordings by the jazz-standards-performing band US Jazz Trio, whose line-up included the keyboard player Lynton Naiff and the drummer Mo Foster (CD3), live material recorded without the (ill) vocalist in 1969 (CD2) and recordings for an unmade second album, already with Vivienne McAuliffe, the vocalist of the band Principal Edward's Magic Theatre, in place of Hoyle (CD4). The whole thing in a rigid box. A must! (MU) -

AGITATION FREE - AGITATION FREE - Malesch (معليش) +1 - GER MIG Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Released by the German branch of Vertigo in 1972, Agitation Free's debut is without doubt one of the most interesting records of the krautrock scene, inspired by the band's journey to the Middle East. The oriental influences are not just an addition but one of the key elements of the sound, although it is not a literal imitation of the music of the East, rather an interpretation of it within krautrock. Guitars, electronics and subtle sound effects play a large role here. There are no distinct choruses or traditional structure – the music rather flows, changing mood and tempo. At times it is more rhythmic, at others strongly subdued. 2019 German edition, in a digipak, with an additional track from a concert. A MUST! -

Remastered Canadian edition of the second album. Traditional jewel case slipped into a cardboard slipcase. Recommended. -
ARKHAM - ARKHAM- Arkham - Cuneiform Records - UNIKALNY CDprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
This album from 1972 is really the only document of the band's activity. The music develops at the meeting point of composition and improvisation – it can be raw, at moments surprisingly subtle, with a distinctly jazz approach to form. Instead of classic themes, evolving sound structures appear, building tension and gradually releasing it. The central role is played by Hammond organ and electric piano, which lead the narrative and give the whole a hypnotic, at times slightly unsettling character. A 2002 edition. Only one copy! New, sealed. -
ARMATRADING, JOAN - ARMATRADING, JOAN - Whatever's for Us - Esoteric Recordings - UNIKALNY CDprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
Joan Armatrading's debut album from 1972 is a combination of folk sensibility with elements of soul and light rock. The music is calm but emotionally intense, with delicate arrangements based on guitar and subtle accompaniment, and the whole is completed by a warm, deep voice and very personal lyrics. Fans of Carole King or Joni Mitchell should be delighted. A 2015 Esoteric remaster. Only one copy! New, sealed.
