CD
BLACKWATER PARK (see also: Murphy Blend) - BLACKWATER PARK - Dirt Box - EU Once Again Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, remastered, European edition of the only, but splendid, album by a Berlin band. Made in March 1972, 'Dirt Box' belongs to the best, and at the same time most underrated, releases of German (very) heavy rock of the early 70s. Although the band, with a British vocalist, was active in Germany, its music has little in common with typical krautrock. The group offered a dynamic combination of early heavy rock, progressive rock and a pinch of blues - with overwhelming influences of British bands such as Deep Purple, Atomic Rooster or Uriah Heep. Over time the album rose to the status of a classic of the European underground. The original BASF release is today among the most sought-after German hard rock records of the early 70s, reaching a price of 600 euros! Additional fame came to the record from the fact that the very popular, influential and generally old-music-promoting Mikael Akerfeldt (leader of the metal band Opeth) named his band's album made in 2001 'Blackwater Park' after it! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

BLUE EFFECT (Modry Efekt) - BLUE EFFECT - Kingdom Of Life - CZECH Supraphon 2025 Pressprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
A new 2025 reissue. "In October 1970 The Blue Effect entered a recording studio for one day to prepare three English-language versions for a new edition of the debut, planned by Supraphon/Artia (the export branch of the Czech label), intended exclusively for East European markets and unavailable in Czech shops. To the original instrumental backing tracks, Semelka, in my opinion less convincing than his predecessor, added new vocal lines to Paměť Lásky - now renamed Kingdom Of Life; Fénix was called You'll Stay With Me, and Stroj na nic was titled Brother's Song. On the other hand the original, Czech track for the piece Blue Effect Street was probably replaced by Mišík's old, English version and changed to White Hair. The second, English-language side of the album Meditace remained untouched and is identical on both titles. I will only add that from the piece Kingdom Of Life the initial sitar part disappeared, and to the middle, delicate part for string quartet (probably unnecessarily) melodic piano phrases were added, while in place of the Czech declamation by the long-forgotten Miloš Svoboda, more decisive English words were pasted in, spoken by... the porter at the Supraphon studios! Released in an attractive and, compared with Meditace, completely changed, laminated sleeve, the LP Kingdom Of Life reached the 'fraternal' record markets in 1971 and for years was one of the most sought-after 'eastern' items by Western fans of psychedelic and progressive rock. I will only add that the veeery rare first pressing (72 1) had a navy blue vinyl label with a unique, very large, semicircular Supraphon inscription." REVIEW BY JACEK LEŚNIEWSKI FROM A BOOK ON ROCK FROM THE FORMER EASTERN BLOC, BEGUN BUT ABANDONED AFTER HALF A YEAR (2021). -

BLUE OYSTER CULT (see also: Stalk-Forrest Group) - BLUE OYSTER CULT - Blue Oyster Cult +4 - Expanded Editon - LISTENprice: 50,00 PLN / 12,50 EUR
I confess that it took me a long time to get into this band's recordings, but it was worth it! The early records are really very good, and the debut is simply stunning! Here the band combined, in an original way, melodic but quite heavy guitar rock with influences of rock'n'roll and psychedelia. Four bonus tracks. A MUST! (JL) -

BRAINBOX (see also: Focus / Jan Akkerman) - BRAINBOX - Parts +4 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Second album by an excellent Dutch formation, earlier led by two later Focus musicians. How little known the LP "Parts", released in 1972 (by EMI Harvest), is can be shown by the fact that in the cult and much sought-after book "Scented Gardens Of The Mind" (devoted to the European progressive scene of the 70s) the author listed this catalogue record as... a compilation! So it is worth pointing out that it is completely brand new, rock, decidedly guitar-driven playing (with two ballads) close to the style of such groups as Wishbone Ash, the Dutch Cargo and Livin' Blues - with a touch of the then so popular Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Despite two weaker passages it is a really great, very varied record that will certainly satisfy 80-90% of fans of old playing! In addition several rare tracks from singles (not included among the bonus tracks to the debut) and a live number from the super rare, compilation (vinyl) soundtrack to the film 'Paradiso' (1971) are included. Highly recommended! -
LP
BRAINTICKET - BRAINTICKET - Psychonaut (LP+CD) - EU Remastered Press - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Recorded with a completely changed line-up (compared with the utterly bonkers and, to tell the truth, overrated debut "Cottonwoodhill" from 1971), the second record by this Swiss band is simply very good, psychedelic and slightly folky prog rock with a fair amount of flute parts and organ - reminiscent of the second album by the German Gila, early Agitation Free, and also Jethro Tull, Hawkwind and Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come. 2021 edition, on clear vinyl, with an additional CD. -

BRAM STOKER - BRAM STOKER - Heavy Rock Spectacular - GER Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Tasteful digipak edition of the only album, released in 1972 by the small Windmill label, by a forgotten British band, very successfully combining heavy guitar sounds with organ, instrumental passages, something like Beggars Opera and The Nice with Atomic Rooster. Dark mood, few vocals, flawless performance. Highly recommended! (JL) -
BROTHERHOOD - Brotherhood - Stavia - Out-Sider Edition - UNIKALNY CDprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Psychedelic rock with a light progressive touch and calmer, "meditative" passages alongside more classic guitar pieces. Originally released in 1972 (private press), for years the album circulated mainly among collectors – only the Out-Sider reissue in 2017 made it more widely available. ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed. -

BROUGHTON, EDGAR -BAND- - EDGAR BROUGHTON BAND - A Bunch Of 45s - UK EMI Harvest 1975 1st Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 300,00 PLN / 75,00 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! The first British edition of the 1975 compilation containing early singles by the band, whose music was a blend of heavy guitar rock (Hendrix, Cream), psychedelia and Zappa-like playing - with a vocal uncannily resembling a cross between Arthur Brown and Captain Beefheart (from 1969-1972). Excellent condition! Sleeve: EXCELLENT+ / Record, probably unplayed: MINT(-) -

BUCHANAN, ROY - ROY BUCHANAN - Roy Buchanan / Second Album (1972-73) - UK BGOprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR

LP
BUDGIE - BUDGIE - Live At The BBC 1972 - UK Maida Vale / Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
This limited vinyl, released in a run of 500 copies in an attractive, laminated sleeve, contains two legendary radio sessions recorded for the BBC by the Welsh trio (the original line-up with Ray Phillips!) in 1972. The first side contains four recordings made between the first and second albums - in February. The band played exquisitely (better than on the records), and the sound quality is good - miles better than the hissy and heavily muffled excerpt on the long-deleted CD "Heavier Than Air" and SLIGHTLY BETTER than on the LP "BBC Sessions 1972", released by Loudspeaker. Now it is really good, though not ideal. The second part of the vinyl, meanwhile, is a brilliant, half-hour fragment of a concert recorded by the BBC in October 1972 (soon after the release of the LP "Squawk") and played for a small audience at London's Paris Theatre. This perfect and genuinely pin-you-to-your-seat material is known from the official CD "BBC Recordings" (and from the promotional, ultra-rare BBC radio vinyl of 46 years ago), but here it sounds even better, since it has more bass and guitar! Besides, for the first time on vinyl the announcements between tracks have been included. Overall this collectable vinyl is 55 minutes from the top shelf of rock! It is without doubt an essential item in every self-respecting heavy rock collection and at the same time a guaranteed future rarity! The black vinyl sounds perfectly clean - without any surface noise or crackle. A MUST! NEW, SEALED. -

LP
BUFFALO (AUS) - BUFFALO - Dead Forever - EU Sun King Expanded Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A new, limited European edition of the excellent debut album, released in 1972 by ('swirl') Vertigo Records, by the heaviest-playing band in the history of Australian rock of the 70s! The band had a genuine ability to compose catchy, though always dark, tracks. The music rolled slowly - like a steamroller, especially in the as-much-as-11-minute cover of "I'm A Mover" from the Free repertoire! Buffalo's first album can be compared to the recordings of Black Sabbath, Budgie, Bloodrock and Sir Lord Baltimore. A gatefold sleeve with a splendid, atmospheric photo of the band playing in a cemetery. A MUST! Condition: MINT (NEW , unsealed). (JL) -

A new, limited European edition of the excellent debut album released in 1972 by ('swirl') Vertigo Records, by the heaviest-playing band in the history of 70s Australian rock! The band had a genuine ability to compose catchy, though always dark tracks. The music rolled along slowly - like a steamroller, especially in the 11-minute cover of Free's "I'm A Mover"! The first Buffalo album can be compared to the recordings of Black Sabbath, Budgie, Bloodrock and Sir Lord Baltimore. In addition, as many as seven nice tracks are included: three tracks from Buffalo's 1972 singles; two mega rare tracks released on a single back in 1971 under the name Head and two live recordings from 1973! A MUST! (JL) -
CD
BULL ANGUS - BULL ANGUS - Free For All - US Mandala Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Second (and last) album by a great American hard-progressive formation, better known for the popular debut LP "Bull Angus" (1971) - also reissued on CD! On the 'second' the band offered a more progressive face, that is, an eclectic, hard-to-describe heavy rock with typically American influences. Practically every track sounded different, and fans of The Beatles will surely be interested in the nice, dynamic cover of 'Savoy Truffle', though it departs little from the original. Recommended!
