After such a fantastic record as the Danes' 1971 debut, it would have been hard to record anything better, but the 'second', released in 1972, almost maintained that level! Recorded with an unchanged line-up, the album was kept in a very similar, folk-hard-progressive mood. The same charming vocal, electric guitars mixed with acoustic ones, occasional flute, at times almost hard rock thrashing. In addition, seven very good bonus tracks from the period - mainly from rare singles. This version beats the previous CD editions hands down (in every respect)! Highly recommended! -

"Phantasmagoria" was another great and varied progressive record, featuring such wonders as the 6-minute, changeable "Marie Antoinette" and the beautiful ballad "Melinda (More Or Less)" - one of the most beautiful moments in Curved Air's entire output! The first three or four albums belong to the broad canon of the genre; especially thanks to the nice, though sometimes too insistent violin parts (Darryl Way - later in Wolf) and interesting, charming compositions. -

Italian reissue by Akarma, in a stiff gatefold sleeve (with a booklet), of a great album whose status is almost legendary! Originally released in 1972 in 60 copies of the LP, it contained a heavy variety of rock, with fuzzed guitar and long solos - all in a progressive sauce. In my opinion, alongside Grannie, it is the best album among the British so-called "private pressings". ATTENTION! The original British vinyl in very good condition is worth over 6000 euros!!! Condition: NEW - sealed. -

A rare, limited, Spanish 72-minute CD, containing fragments of two shows from the British tour promoting the LP "Fireball" - two long recordings from London's Royal Albert Hall, from October 1971 (including a premiere, early "Lazy" and a genuinely unique, 10-minute, heavily improvised version of "Fireball"!!!) and five tracks from Dagenham - including the rarely performed "No No No" and a 16-minute, great version of "Child In Time". The sound quality is really very good (a quite professional audience recording), though not ideal. Please bear in mind that there are very few recordings from the "Fireball" album tour and practically all are of very poor quality. This CD is a glorious exception. And that 10-minute "Fireball" alone (no other known version is so extended) is worth the price of the whole! Highly recommended! (JL) -

Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve, a single European vinyl, LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, a 62-minute black vinyl (flawlessly pressed), containing fragments of two shows from the British tour promoting the LP "Fireball" - two long recordings from London's Royal Albert Hall from October 1971 (including a premiere, early "Lazy" and a genuinely unique, 10-minute, heavily improvised version of "Fireball"!!!) and four tracks from Dagenham - including the rarely performed "No No No" and a 16-minute, great version of "Child In Time". A very tastefully made vinyl compilation from Verne, limited to 500 copies, in a glossy, laminated sleeve, featuring mostly recordings not previously released on LP, recorded between 1969 and the end of 1972 by the so-called MK II, that is the line-up with Ian Gillan and Roger Glover. The album includes, among others, the little-known "Slow Train", "Jam Stew", "Cry Free" (slightly extended), "Painted Horse" (also slightly extended), "Freedom", the single "Hallelujah" (the first track with Gillan), as well as an early version of "Fools" (released only on a CD box set) and the 12-minute, instrumental, great "First Day Jam" - with Ritchie Blackmore playing bass!
