AGITATION FREE - Malesch (معليش) - GER MIG Edition - LISTEN

Released by the German branch of Vertigo in 1972, Agitation Free's debut is without doubt one of the most interesting records of the krautrock strand, inspired by the band's journey to the Middle East. The oriental influences are not merely an addition, but one of the key elements of the sound, although it is not a literal imitation of the music of the East, but rather an interpretation of it within krautrock. A big role is played here by guitars, electronics and subtle sound effects. There are no distinct choruses or traditional structure here – the music rather flows, changing mood and tempo. At times it is more rhythmic, at others strongly subdued. A MUST!
