AFFINITY - Affinity (4CD BOX) - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Edition

A four-disc box set from 2021, containing, remastered, all the tracks of the very underrated British band (with the wonderful vocalist Linda Hoyle - see her solo CD). Their only album contains music with a full, dense sound and clear jazz and blues influences. Lots of instrumental parts - especially Hammonds and guitars! A wonderful, 12-minute version of "All Along The Watchtower" and several other gems, such as "Night Flight" or "Three Sisters". Without a doubt one of the best albums ever released by the Vertigo label! The additional CDs contain recordings by the jazz-standards-performing band US Jazz Trio, whose line-up included the keyboard player Lynton Naiff and the drummer Mo Foster (CD3), live material recorded without the (ill) vocalist in 1969 (CD2) and recordings for an unmade second album, already with Vivienne McAuliffe, the vocalist of the band Principal Edward's Magic Theatre, in place of Hoyle (CD4). The whole thing in a rigid box. A must! (MU)
