EMERSON LAKE & PALMER - EMERSON LAKE & PALMER - Live In Brussels 1971 - SPA Top Gear Limited Edition - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a tastefully released CD containing an excellently recorded, nearly hour-long concert from March 1971, not previously released on record, professionally recorded in Brussels, four months after the release of the brilliant debut album. The band presented the whole first side in slightly extended versions, plus a 17-minute version of The Nice's classic "Rondo" and "Nutcracker" combined with bluesy rock and roll. The sound quality is excellent and it is a fantastic complement to the classic album "Pictures At An Exhibition", recorded four weeks later! Together these two albums present the band's full live repertoire of that period! In addition, a very rare and really good-sounding, 26-minute live version of the suite "Tarkus" is included, recorded at the legendary Californian venue the Hollywood Bowl in July 1971! A must! EPITAPH - EPITAPH - Epitaph - GRE Missing Vinyl Limited Press - LISTENprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
Epitaph was at first a mixed, British-German band - only over the years transformed into an exclusively German one. Released in 1971 by Polydor, the band's great debut album (with British vocals) contained a rather thunderous dose of bluesy, catchy-guitar-riff-based, heavy progressive rock (Mellotron, Hammond) of the highest shelf. This record has been with me for the last 30 years and needs no recommendation! 2024 reissue, on black vinyl, limited to 400 copies. A must! (JL) -

ERGO SUM - ERGO SUM - Mexico +4 - US Lion Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
A great, genuinely progressive album - without a doubt one of the best ever made in France. A very well produced and arranged combination of the style of early Family, Jethro Tull and Traffic (including flute, saxophone, violin) - with a good deal of instrumental parts. The vocals are rather manic - in the style of Roger Chapman. A very tasteful edition with a thick booklet and four bonuses. Highly recommended! (JL) -

EVERYONE (see also: Junco Partners / Andy Roberts) - EVERYONE - Everyone - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Released in January 1971, the only album by a British, folk-prog-rock group led by Andy Roberts (Liverpool Scene and the great 1971 solo LP "Home Grown" - recorded with Mighty Baby...) and organist Bob Sargeant (ex-Junco Partners - later co-leader of the Mick Abrahams Band). The record was filled with very charming and fascinating material close to the style of Hard Meat, Forever More, and even Atomic Rooster - with a touch of CS&N. Frankly, it is the heavier/more progressive half of the album that is downright sensational (typical of 1970-71, stylistically varied British prog with organ or mellotron), though the more folky second part can also enchant (with the exception of one track in a country rock style)... The cherry on the cake is the two additional and decidedly rock tracks (Hammond again!) from the BBC archives! A great album that will delight everyone who believes the above text. Highly recommended! -

EXCALIBUR - EXCALIBUR - First Album - GER ICON Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
The sole album by a German band containing very heavy, intense playing with organ (and with a vocal like on Jane's debut...), a bit in the style of Deep Purple, and above all of the German Night Sun and Dies Irae. Recommended! -

EXPERIENCE (see also: Martin Circus / Triangle) - EXPERIENCE - Experience - EU Magic Potion Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in 1971 by French Vogue on a double vinyl, the only album by the enigmatic band Experience (at the time that was a 'skeleton key' word), reportedly formed by musicians of the progressive groups Martin Circus and Triangle. The record was filled with 76 minutes of early-progressive playing (with strong influences of psychedelia, but also heavy rock and a pinch of jazz) based on the interplay of dominant Hammond organ and electric guitar, a juicy rhythm section and flute and saxophone parts. The whole was modelled on the work of Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, Procol Harum and Jimi Hendrix and sounded more like British rock of 1969-1970, but inevitably France was a little behind... The whole is great to listen to (even despite the weak vocals in Gimmie Some Lovin') and I recommend especially the last part of the record, where the band presented an instrumental cover of 'Let There Be More Light' by Pink Floyd (from their LP A Saucerful Of Secrets'), strangely titled here 'Let's Be More Light' and supposedly composed by... Nick Mason! Roger Waters would not be happy! A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

FELT - FELT - Felt - EU Sun King Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A new, limited, European edition of the only album by this American band, being the absolute peak of guitar-driven and practically psych-progressive, at times strongly improvised playing with slightly bluesy influences. All the compositions genuinely stick in the ear, and their interpretation (for an unknown group of teenagers from deep in the provinces) inspires unfeigned admiration! It is not hard to understand that the original vinyl reaches prices exceeding 1500 dollars! Excellent sound! An absolute must! Condition: NEW, unsealed (JL) -

FIELDS (UK) (see also: Rare Bird / King Crimson) - FIELDS - Fields - EU Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A very nice album by a trio founded by the former leader of Rare Bird - organist Graham Field. It was thanks to him that the first two records sounded so wonderful! Stylistically it is a continuation of the sounds known from those albums. On drums Andy McCulloch - ex-King Crimson (LP "Lizard"). Probably every fan of art-rock sounds will be delighted! (JL) -
CD
FLASKET BRINNER - FLASKET BRINNER - Flasket Brinner (1st Album) - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Brilliant debut by the progressive Swedes (previously known from, among others, the CD "Flasket" from 1972). Recorded at the end of 1970, almost entirely live, the album contained very catchy, at moments almost hypnotic, improvised material that is an original and unique blend of the style of King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Traffic and Deep Purple (saxophone, flute, organ, electric guitar, bass, drums). Fortunately there is no question of 'art for art's sake', and the individual tracks (four fairly long and four very short) had a fairly clear construction and in their own way were 'catchy'. Alongside the album by the group Panta Rei and perhaps the debut of Kebnekaise, it is my favourite progressive record from Sweden! A MUST! -

FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND - FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND - Satori +2 - EU Ethelion Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR

FOCUS - FOCUS - Live In Rotterdam 1971 - EU Atos / Verne Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a perfect-sounding, superb vinyl containing live material by a band at the peak of its creative powers! Almost the entire LP is filled by a 47-minute, excellent version of the suite "Eruption" recorded in Rotterdam in autumn 1971 (in my opinion much better than the one known from the LP "Moving Waves"), containing plenty of music not used in the studio version. In addition, a 10-minute, concise version of "Anonymous II" recorded by the BBC in December 1972. A must! NEW, SEALED. -
LP
FOCUS - FOCUS - Moving Waves - JAPAN Polydor 1973 1st Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 300,00 PLN / 75,00 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! Very rare first Japanese release (from 1973) of the brilliant album recorded in Holland at the end of 1971 - combining the style of early Jethro Tull (flute, Hammond) with a touch of Santana on steroids (the frenzied rock guitar of Jan Akkerman) and superb, energetic drumming. Without a doubt it belongs in the top ten of European prog rock! The album includes, among others, "Hocus Pocus" and the 22-minute suite "Eruption". Plus an insert! The stiff sleeve and the vinyl are in perfect condition! MINT(-) / MINT(-)
