Epitaph was at first a mixed, British-German band - only over the years transformed into an exclusively German one. Released in 1971 by Polydor, the band's great debut album (with British vocals) contained a rather thunderous dose of bluesy, catchy-guitar-riff-based, heavy progressive rock (Mellotron, Hammond) of the highest shelf. This record has been with me for the last 30 years and needs no recommendation! 2024 reissue, on black vinyl, limited to 400 copies. A must! (JL)
