Besides several singles released under the band's name, it also contains tracks recorded under other names (Rupert's People, Chocolate Frog, Shyster), as well as two superb recordings with the vocalist Sharon Tandy. The group's bassist and occasional vocalist was Gordon Haskell. Two of the band's tracks ("Circles" and "Mud In Your Eye") appeared on the phenomenal box set "Nuggets Vol. 2" (Rhino). This is top-shelf playing! Highly recommended! -

A fantastic album - without a doubt top five of American psychedelic rock! For me it is a consummate pop-psych-rock masterpiece - full of charming, richly but very tastefully arranged melodies, nice overdriven guitar parts, dreamy vocals, and of course the ubiquitous psychedelic aura. A combination of the style of The Beatles, late The Zombies and their Capitol Records label-mates Gandalf. Once released in a small run and sold without any promotion, the vinyl is sometimes worth several hundred dollars today - quite deservedly! This version has an uncropped cover and sounds incomparably cleaner and better than the British Fall Out edition from 10 years ago. This is a wonderful and superbly produced record! An absolute must! -

Released in 1969, the second (concept) album by an excellent American psychedelic group better known for the debut LP Trilogy For The Massess (1968), full of instrumental improvisations. Characterised by intriguing melodies and rich arrangements, the second record was somewhat different, gentler and catchier - resembling the recordings of The Beatles, The Byrds, Love and the Zombies of the time. It is a pop-psychedelic masterpiece! The whole thing was composed in the form of a 37-minute musical - without any dialogue, of course... A superbly produced and very clean-sounding album that tastes exquisite after 2-3 listens. Highly recommended! -

A remastered and decidedly improved in every respect edition from the Eclipse label of the debut album, released in 1969 by Vanguard, by the classics of American heavy rock - at last with the full cover. A superb and, in sum, underrated debut by a very good band from Detroit, led by the excellent guitarist Dick Wagner (later in Ursa Major and the bands of Lou Reed, Alice Cooper and Peter Gabriel). The music on this, without a doubt the band's best album, is a combination of catchy compositions from the circle of melodic psychedelia and classic, heavy rock; heavily thickened rhythms, and of course the all-pervading, juicy and piercing guitar parts of the Cream, Amboy Dukes and early Grand Funk kind. There is not a single weak track on this excellent record! Additionally two live recordings from 1969, joined together, are included. A MUST! (JL) -

A previously unreleased live album, providing an insight into Gibbs's craft before his proper recording career (his debut album was released in 1970). Creating a big band boasting the cream of contemporary British jazz, Gibbs joined forces at the concert of 20 November 1969, at Whitla Hall in Belfast, with the pioneering vibraphonist Gary Burton and his quartet. The third CD contains a recording of a performance at Lancaster University, in February of the same year, already without Burton's quartet. -

On the debut "Foolish Seasons" (1968) Jimmy Page played, and the whole thing was arranged by Mike Vickers (ex-Manfred Mann). On the second, a year later - "Box Of Surprises" - the vocalist was accompanied by the band Savoy Brown. Highly recommended! -

A black vinyl limited to 500 copies, lasting over 50 minutes, released in a beautiful, psychedelic, laminated sleeve. Glass Menagerie was a psychedelic/progressive group from Manchester, active in 1966-1970 and responsible for five decent singles. However, the band came across far better during the superb radio sessions that are, as it were, the quintessence of late psychedelia and early progressive rock in the style of Spooky Tooth, Procol Harum, or very early Deep Purple (with Evans and Simper)! This album sounds like a never-released, forgotten, top-shelf rock classic! The tracks, recorded only in the studio, contain almost no announcements, and the sound quality is almost ideal! To a large extent it is different material from that contained on the compilation CD. After the band split, the excellent guitarist Alan Kendall moved to Toe Fat (and a few years later 'gained fame and fortune' in the Bee Gees), the vocalist/keyboard player Lou Stonebridge founded Paladin, and the drummer Bill Atkinson played (as Harrison) in Mogul Thrash. Much more information about the band can be found in my book "Brytyjski rock w latach 1961-1979 (G-J)". ATTENTION! All the recordings sound better, or decidedly better, than the YouTube versions (links below), and the tape speed has also been corrected. The vinyl pressing is simply excellent (no hiss whatsoever) and I am sure that every fan of old rock playing with Hammond organ will be delighted with this LP! A must! Condition: MINT (NEW, unsealed). -

After the group split, the guitarist Alan Kendall moved to Toe Fat, the vocalist/keyboard player Lou Stonebridge appeared in Paladin, and the drummer Bill Harrison later played in Mogul Thrash.
