MICHAEL GIBBS with THE GARY BURTON QUARTET - Festival 69 (3CD) - UK Turtle Records Card Sleeve Edition - LISTEN

A previously unreleased live album, providing an insight into Gibbs's craft before his proper recording career (his debut album was released in 1970). Creating a big band boasting the cream of contemporary British jazz, Gibbs joined forces at the concert of 20 November 1969, at Whitla Hall in Belfast, with the pioneering vibraphonist Gary Burton and his quartet. The third CD contains a recording of a performance at Lancaster University, in February of the same year, already without Burton's quartet.
