SPIRIT - SPIRIT - Spirit +4 - GER Repertoire Remastered Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
A fantastic and yet hugely underrated (especially here...) album! A wonderful combination of airy, psychedelic rock with folk, jazz and Hendrix. Without a doubt top five of American playing! There is not a single weak moment on the record, and it includes the stunning "Fresh Garbage", the 10-minute, improvised "Elijah" and "Gramophone Man" - known to some from the Woody Kern LP. The record also has the instrumental "Taurus" - from which the Zeppelins 'ripped off' the acoustic intro and arrangement for "Stairway To Heaven"!!! Repertoire digipak, with four bonuses. (JL) -

SPIRIT - SPIRIT - Two Sides Of A Rainbow - Live At The Rainbow 1978 (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
A double album containing the entire concert (including six encores) from the Rainbow Theatre in London, on 11 March 1978. The performance was recorded with a live album in mind, but there were problems with the sound, so some of the recordings appeared on "Live Spirit" from the same year, together with tracks from other concerts. The whole recording (taken from the mixing desk) was only released in 2012. This is the remastered 2019 edition, in a tri-fold digipak, additionally containing the American version of "Live Spirit", with parts overdubbed in the studio. -
SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS (see also: Christmas) - SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS - Lies To Live By - CAN Unidisc Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The same band, only under the name Spirit Of Christmas. The record is a natural continuation of "Heritage", but in place of the psychedelic elements there is a rich, almost progressive sound - a little in the style of Rush. I have listened to this material many times - it is truly excellent! -
SPIRIT OF JOHN MORGAN (see also: John Morgan) - SPIRIT OF JOHN MORGAN - Spirit Of John Morgan +1 - EU Eclipse Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered, European edition of the excellent, though unfortunately still underrated, debut album released at the end of 1969 by a British band playing dynamic, spacious and perfectly produced progressive, bluesy rock (organ, flute, sax) in the vein of early Jethro Tull, Black Cat Bones and Skin Alley. Additionally a rare B-side of a single. A must! (JL) -
SPIROGYRA - SPIROGYRA - Future Won't Be Long - Albums 1971-1973 (3CD) - UK Esoteric Editionprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
A three-disc set in a rigid box, containing the albums: "St. Radigunds" from 1971, "Old Boot Wine" (with four bonus tracks) from 1972 and "Bells, Boots And Shambles" from 1973. The English band played ambitious folk rock in the style of the gentler work of Trees, Incredible String Band and Mellow Candle. It was very subtle music with the excellent vocalist Barbara Gaskin (later the wife of Dave Stewart of Egg) in the foreground. The band used a wide range of instruments, including violin, often wandering into typically progressive territory. -
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION - SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION - Spontaneous Combustion - KOR Big Pink Card Sleeve Deluxe Edition - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
A great, heavy-progressive British band on a great debut (produced by Greg Lake of ELP) playing spacious rock based on frequent changes of mood (three long tracks) and clean guitar sounds! The second album was already much stronger, and the band discovered the power of fuzz... 2024 reissue. Highly recommended! (JL) -
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION - SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION - Spontaneous Combustion / Triad - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A great, heavy-progressive, British band on a great debut (produced by Greg Lake of ELP), playing spacious rock based on frequent changes of mood (three long tracks) and clean guitar sounds! SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION - SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION - Triad - KOR Big Pink Card Sleeve Deluxe Edition - LISTENprice: 125,00 PLN / 31,25 EUR
A great, somewhat heavier, second album by the British progressive band, which in 1975 changed its name to Time. This is top-shelf playing! 2024 reissue. Highly recommended! (JL) -
SPOOKY TOOTH - SPOOKY TOOTH - Blues Town - A Collection Of Radio Sessions And Rare Studio Tracks 1968-1969 - UK Maida Vale / Verne Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A black vinyl limited to 500 copies, released in a beautiful, laminated sleeve with nice photographs of the band. Spooky Tooth was a British psychedelic and later progressive band resembling a combination of early Deep Purple and Traffic (but with excellent vocals). This superb, 58-minute album contains radio sessions and unreleased studio tracks recorded during the period of the first three albums (including two tracks from the LP "Ceremony" WITHOUT Pierre Henry's overdubs). The pressing is simply excellent (no hiss whatsoever), and the sound quality perfect. A must! NEW, SEALED. -
SPOOKY TOOTH - SPOOKY TOOTH - Live In Berlin 1970 - FRA On The Air Limited Edition - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, an hour-long CD containing, among other things, a great, 43-minute recording of a show by the British progressive band that took place in Berlin in December 1970 (sometimes wrongly labelled as Essen 1969). Note the setlist - three numbers from the LP "Last Puff" (in much better, more dynamic versions) and several 'covers' never played on albums! It was a show from the band's last tour (before it split for three years), and the recording features, among others, the excellent keyboardist John Hawken (ex-Renaissance, later in Strawbs) and the bassist Steve Thompson, known from Bluesbreakers and Stone The Crows. The sound quality is very good (it is a copy of a recording from the mixing desk), it is a great pleasure to listen to (there are no other recordings from this period!), although not perfect. In addition, four very nice recordings are included, including two tracks from 1969 from BBC radio - unreleased on the official CD reissues! This is a real treat for all fans of this, in fact underrated, though for some time quite popular band! Highly recommended! -
SPOOKY TOOTH - SPOOKY TOOTH - Lost In My Dream - An Anthology 1968-1974 (2CD) - UK Esoteric Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Beautifully presented two-disc anthology, containing the band's best tracks from 1968-1974, as well as two previously unreleased tracks! Highly recommended! -
SPOOKY TOOTH - SPOOKY TOOTH - Spooky Two +9 - EU Universal-Island Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
One of the best records from the early British prog rock circle! An excellent, poignant vocal, heavy, powerful-sounding organ, a great guitarist - and above all wonderful compositions (including the 9-minute "Evil Woman", or "Better By You Better Than Me", known from Judas Priest's performance). In addition, nine bonus tracks. -
SPOOKY TOOTH AND PIERRE HENRY - SPOOKY TOOTH / PIERRE HENRY - Ceremony. An Electronic Mass. - EU Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The legendary third album, made already after the (first) split, when the band sent the raw material from a planned album to an avant-garde French musician - Pierre Henry. After processing and adding various distorted (also electronically) sounds, a very controversial album was created, as adored as it is hated! I belong to the former group, although I would probably have been happier if the band had finished this record themselves, as it contains the best moments they ever recorded! Highly recommended!
