OS MUNDI - OS MUNDI - Latin Mass - EU Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released in 1971 by Metronome, the debut album by a German band, in a dark, still slightly psychedelic vein with a dominant organ sound - something like a combination of Electric Prunes ('Mass In F Minor'), Xhol Caravan and Orange Peel. Highly recommended! -
CD
OSMOSIS - OSMOSIS - Osmosis - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered and much better-sounding (than the old Synton CD) edition of the only, but excellent, album by an American formation led by the legendary jazzman Charlie Mariano (then fascinated by rock). On the album Osmosis, released in 1970 by RCA, they played heavy, dark and intense progressive rock with clear influences of psychedelia and more than a pinch of jazz. Here is everything we value so much about the turn of the 60s and 70s - guitar overdrive, sudden twists and a juicy, though slightly grubby, sound. This is a superb record! A must! -

OSMOSIS - OSMOSIS - Osmosis - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The sole but excellent album by an American band led by the legendary jazzman Charlie Mariano (at the time fascinated by rock). On the album Osmosis, released in 1970 by RCA, they played heavy, dark and intense progressive rock with clear influences of psychedelia and more than a pinch of jazz. Everything we so cherish about the turn of the 60s and 70s is here - guitar overdrive, sudden twists and a juicy, albeit slightly grubby sound. It is a superb record! -

OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Wake Up - GRE Missing Vinyl Remastered Press - LISTENprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
Official Greek reissue (from Missing Vinyl) of the debut album by one of literally a handful of the best progressive bands from continental Europe! A brilliant combination of the moods of early Jethro Tull with Pink Floyd and a pinch of Colosseum - backed by very solid playing by the rhythm section and an excellent, pleasantly mannered vocal. This is an LP without weak points! The band's second album in the discography, titled simply "Out Of Focus", was on an equally high level and was also reissued in the same edition. A MUST! (JL) -
CD
OWEN-B - OWEN-B - Owen-B +4 - US Gear Fab Expanded Edition - OSTATNIE SZTUKIprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Released in 1970 by a small, local label, the only, but very good, album by an American group drawing on a broad spectrum of the rock of the time - from psychedelia, through folk-blues, all the way to heavy rock. Nice compositions, very good guitars. The CD additionally has four single tracks. Recommended! (JL) -
LP
OXFORDS - OXFORDS - Flying Up Through The Sky - GRE Missing Vinyl - LISTENprice: 125,00 PLN / 31,25 EUR
Released in 1970, the sole album by this American band is a richly arranged, nicely produced (strings), soft rock masterpiece with a truly great female vocal, with a slight jazzy flavour (flute) and finally with organ and a decidedly rock rhythm section. At times it brings to mind the American Genesis. This album will delight all lovers of ambitious, late pop-psychedelia. Highly recommended! -
CD
PACIFIC DRIFT (see also: Wimple Winch) - PACIFIC DRIFT - Feelin' Free - EU Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A European edition of the sole album, released in early 1970, by a British band combining elements of organ-based prog rock with folk, psychedelia and even classical music (harpsichord). Jack Lancaster of Blodwyn Pig guested on the record. Highly recommended! -
CD
PAN (see also: Delta Blues Band / Blast Furnace) - PAN - Pan +3 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
How good it is that there is such a label as Flawed Gems - releasing forgotten, but excellent titles and combining tasteful artwork with excellent, juicy and almost analogue sound. Professionally remastered, released in the original cover and without a doubt the best-sounding (e.g. compared with the dull CD from the dreadful Danish label Karma...) edition of the only, but superb, album by a Danish progressive formation. Released in May 1970 and excellently produced, the LP contained a mixture of heavy rock, folk, jazz and classical music, that is, it was an utterly progressive album. This album, full of changing moods, was characterised by the spacious interplay of Hammond organ, intense electric guitar parts and nice vocals (with two tracks in French). In addition, 2 tracks from a single and an alternative version are included. Compared with the earlier Karma version, however, there are (fortunately) none of the four poor, country-style live tracks, already recorded with a changed line-up. A top-drawer progressive classic! A MUST! (JL) -
CD
PATTO (see also: Timebox) - PATTO - Patto +3 - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
A remastered British edition with three bonus tracks! The excellent debut album by one of the most highly regarded (today) British progressive bands. Slightly jazzy, slightly hard-rock - a decidedly progressive album with brilliant, sharp guitar parts from Ollie Halsall - especially in the 10-minute "Money Bag"! Among the bonus tracks are an exquisite, improvised, 15-minute "Hanging Rope" (probably the band's best track) and two excellent studio tracks from the BBC archives (including the 9-minute "Love Me", not released on any record). A must! -

PIG IRON - PIG IRON - Pig Iron - EU Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Very early American jazz-rock from 1970, with plenty of trumpet - in the vein of the more jazzy Blood Sweat & Tears and Chicago. The LP was released by CBS, so the quality is guaranteed! -
CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live In Lund, Sweden, March 1970 - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A limited, small-run 80-minute CD containing a great performance from Lund, Sweden, of 20 March 1970, which after mastering sounds very good, though not perfect (some 20% better than the YouTube versions) - recorded between the albums "Ummagumma" and "Atom Heart Mother". The band played its most popular/best pieces. Fans may know the version of "Interstellar Overdrive" here from the Top Gear double CD "Collection Of Rare LIVE Instrumentals (1969-1971)". This is the PF I love most - still experimental, still charming with its psychedelic sound, but not afraid to 'hit hard' in an almost hard rock way! The band was at the peak of its form then, and at concerts from this period it managed to work out an exceptionally juicy, full sound with incredible parts from Gilmour and Wright. Afterwards (after 1973) it was just not the same... A MUST! (JL) -
LP
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live In Montreux 1970 (1st gig from 21st November) (2LP) - FRA Verne Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A new reissue of the double and absolutely brilliant recording of the Pink Floyd concert of 21 November 1970 (the first of two concerts played in this hall - the second a day later) - recorded just after the release of the LP 'Atom Heart Mother'. Many people, including me, consider this show the best concert of the band's entire career - helped by the fantastic sound quality. Apparently the whole thing was recorded on two professional Uher tape recorders, placed 6 metres from the stage. And since the acoustics at the casino in Montreux were reportedly legendary, the whole thing sounds stunning! This is the PF I love most - still experimental, still enchanting with a psychedelic sound, but not afraid to hit hard in an almost hard-rock way! The band was at its peak form then, and in 1970 at concerts it managed to work out an exceptionally juicy, full sound (with incredible parts from Gilmour and Wright) - even more intense than on the first, so excellent disc of the LP/CD 'Ummagumma' - something almost impossible to imagine! Unfortunately, nothing from this magical year 1970 was commemorated on official records - well, perhaps with the exception of a few of the best fragments of the suite 'Meddle'... A year later the quartet also played in Montreux, but with a somewhat different repertoire and with a smaller dose of adrenaline. And two years after that it was already a rather different band... The vinyl lasts nearly two hours ("Careful With That Axe, Eugene" has been omitted - the only recordings from this show of much poorer quality), and the sound quality is almost perfect and the vinyl pressing flawless! An absolute MUST! Condition: NEW, but not shrink-wrapped. -
CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live At KQED TV Studios, 29th April 1970 - The Complete Show - SPA Top Gear Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A CD limited to 500 copies, attractively presented and perfect-sounding, containing a recording of a 65-minute live performance (without an audience) that took place in the studio of American public television on 29 April 1970 - on the day of the famous Fillmore concert. This material has been released in the past (including on the DVD in the box set "The Early Years"), but never with the recently found "Astronomy Domine"! This is the PF I love most - still experimental, still enchanting with its psychedelic sound, but not afraid to 'hit hard' in an almost hard-rock manner! The band was then at the peak of its form, and in concerts of this period it managed to develop an exceptionally juicy, full sound with incredible parts by Gilmour and Wright. An absolute MUST! LP
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - British Tour January - February 1970 - EU Open Mind Limited Press - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve, a single European vinyl, LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, being a nearly hour-long and truly excellent compilation of very rare or exceptional recordings by the band from what was probably its best period - recorded during a short, fairly experimental concert tour (the band reached for lesser-known or premiere compositions) that took place in early 1970 (in Birmingham and Croydon, among other places) - just before the recording of the LP "Atom Heart Mother". The album includes, among others, a 14-minute version of "Main Theme From More" (different from the one on the double CD of rare instrumentals), "Sysyphus", known only from one live version - here played partly by the band too, a very early, fairly gentle but contrast-filled version of "Embryo", not released on any major record, as well as a 24-minute suite made up of four rare numbers, including "Quicksilver" and (almost entirely unknown) "Moonhead". The sound quality is really good (much better than on previous versions, though far from perfect) and will certainly please fans of rare recordings very much. The 180-gram black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -
CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live In Santa Monica May 1970 (2CD) - SPA Top Gear Edition - VERY RAREprice: 85,00 PLN / 21,25 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a fan-club, double-disc and absolutely brilliant recording ('audience recording') of a 126-minute Pink Floyd concert from Santa Monica on 1 May 1970 (NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the other superb and famous show from the same city, from 23 October 1970) - recorded half a year before the release of the LP "Atom Heart Mother". An excellent concert, and the almost perfect sound quality helps enormously in enjoying it. The whole thing was recorded on a professional reel-to-reel recorder, so the quality is identical to the brilliant Montreux show from November of that year and it sounds like a very good soundboard - in my opinion at times better than the live part of the LP "Ummagumma"! This is the PF I love most - still experimental, still enchanting with a psychedelic sound, but not afraid to hit hard in an almost hard-rock way! The band was at its peak form then, and at concerts of this period managed to work out an exceptionally juicy, full sound with incredible parts from Gilmour and Wright. Afterwards (after 1973) it was no longer the same... An absolute MUST! (JL) -
CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live In Montreux 1970 (2CD) - SPA Top Gear Edition - VERY RAREprice: 85,00 PLN / 21,25 EUR
Fan-club, two-disc and absolutely brilliant recording, limited to 500 copies, of the Pink Floyd concert of November 1970 - just after the release of "Atom Heart Mother". Many consider this performance the band's best concert of their whole career - helped also by the fantastic sound quality! Reportedly the whole thing was recorded on two professional Uher tape recorders, placed six metres from the stage. And as the acoustics at the casino in Montreux were reportedly legendary, the whole thing sounds frenzied! This is the PF I adore most - still experimental, still enchanting with a psychedelic sound, but not afraid to 'lay into it' in an almost hard rock manner! The band was then at the peak of form, besides which in 1970 it had managed to work out in concerts an exceptionally juicy, full sound (with incredible parts from Gilmour and Wright) - even more intense than on the first, so excellent disc of the LP/CD "Ummagumma" - something almost impossible to imagine! Unfortunately, nothing from that magical year 1970 was commemorated on official records - well, perhaps with the exception of a few of the best passages of the suite "Meddle"... The next year the quartet also performed in Montreux, but with a somewhat different repertoire and a smaller dose of adrenaline. And two years after that it was already a rather different band... Recently this material has been somewhat improved (lightly de-noised - with slightly more bass and treble) and sounds truly impressive! In addition two bonus tracks from the performance of the following day (at the beginning of which Waters sarcastically greets the Swiss: 'Good morning'...). An absolute MUST! (JL) -

PRESLEY, ELVIS - ELVIS PRESLEY - On Stage, February 1970 - US RCA Victor ('orange') 1970 1st Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 350,00 PLN / 87,50 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! An ultra rare, absolutely first American RCA Victor edition, from 1970 (before the thin 'Dynaflex' vinyl appeared at the RCA pressing plants in 1971), of the live album released during Elvis's 2-3 year, legendary 'comeback' to the stage. Unfortunately, a year later his career, as a result of various addictions, came to a halt again... It is incredible, but despite so many years having passed, the whole thing looks excellent! The rigid, black sleeve is in perfect condition: MINT- / Vinyl like unplayed: MINT- -

PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Live At The BBC (1964-1975) (4CD Box) - UK Repertoire Editionprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR

CD
PRETTY THINGS - PRETTY THINGS - Parachute +6 - UK Madfish Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A sensational, though until now slightly underrated by me album! In keeping with the spirit of the times, in 1970 the Pretties set off into somewhat more progressive regions, combining the classic (a little acoustic, a little psychedelic) sound of the brilliant 1968 LP "S.F. Sorrow" with early, ambitious hard rock. The result was an excellent, rock, conceptual album (once released by Harvest) which, like every record 'with a key', pleases more and more with every subsequent listen. The American magazine Rolling Stone chose this LP 'album of the year 1970' - it is always some kind of recommendation, isn't it? Additionally six recordings from three great singles from 1970 are included with the CD. An absolute, though still underrated here, canon of classic rock. A remastered edition in a digipak, extended by six tracks. Buy it blind! (JL) -

Remastered two-disc edition by the British label Esoteric of the excellent fourth album - released as a four-panel digipak with a booklet and poster. Eleven very good bonus tracks on the second disc, including two unreleased tracks from the BBC sessions. A must! -
LP
PROCOL HARUM - PROCOL HARUM - Home - EU Music On Vinyl Remastered 180g Press - LAST COPYprice: 200,00 PLN / 50,00 EUR
In my opinion this fourth record, released in 1970, is one of the two or three best titles in the band's discography. Dark, gloomy and very progressive... Audiophile edition on 180-gram vinyl. Excellent pressing. (JL)
