The second album by a very bold (because non-commercial) jazz-rock band led by the famous musician. Two wonderful albums with a gloomy, mysterious sound, combining rock with jazz and psychedelia. Fans of Colosseum, Chicago or Blood Sweat & Tears will be very pleased. Gatefold sleeve. -
MANFRED MANN CHAPTER THREE (see also: East Of Eden) - MANFRED MANN CHAPTER THREE - Volume Two - UK Creature Music Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
The most progressive incarnation of Manfred Mann! Two wonderful albums with a gloomy, mysterious sound, combining rock with jazz and psychedelia. -
MAQUINA (see also: Pan Y Regaliz) - MAQUINA - Why? - SPA Guerssen Press - LISTENprice: 135,00 PLN / 33,75 EUR
An excellent, debut album by a cult (deservedly!), Spanish band playing juicy, heavily improvised heavy-prog-rock (overdriven guitars with wah-wah, all-pervading organ) with clear psychedelic influences. English vocals! In my opinion it is in the top five of Spanish rock! The main point of the album was the 25-minute title track, apparently recorded live in the studio. The cover apparently pleased Salvador Dali himself! A 2021 Spanish reissue, in a gatefold sleeve. -
MAQUINA (see also: Pan Y Regaliz) - MAQUINA - Why? +9 - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
What a fantastic record! Great-sounding edition, expanded by over 45 minutes, of reportedly the first rock LP released in Spain! Earlier local groups had recorded only singles... Made in summer 1970, the excellent debut album contained a concentrated dose of juicy, improvised, almost trance-like, English-sung heavy-prog rock, with the sound of heavily overdriven guitars (one with wah-wah, the other with fuzz - that is a fact!) and ubiquitous organs - with clear influences of psychedelia. In my opinion it is in the top three of Spanish rock - alongside the brilliant LP by the group Pan Y Regaliz (1971) and the record by Eduardo Bort (1975)! The main point of the album was the 25-minute, two-part, title track, reportedly recorded live in the studio - now without the cut in the middle! The cover, meanwhile, reportedly pleased Salvador Dali himself! In fact on one of the photos on the CD the legendary painter poses together with the band! I stress: in terms of sound quality this edition beats the Spanish edition hands down, which had clear vinyl crackle! The six bonus tracks (another excellent 40 minutes) came from the same recording session and were in no way inferior to the LP. In addition three tracks from early, psychedelic singles have been added. An absolute must! -
MARBLES (Graham Bonnet / Rainbow) - MARBLES - Marbles +5 - GER Repertoire Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The only album by a British duo (with the young Graham Bonnet - later in Rainbow and the Michael Schenker Group, among others) modelled on the work of the early Bee Gees. In fact the Gibb brothers composed their famous hit "Only One Woman". Pleasant pop rock with a slight touch of psychedelia. Digipak with five bonus tracks. -
MARK-ALMOND (see also: John Mayall) - MARK-ALMOND - Mark-Almond +2 - JAP Remastered Expanded Limited Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
The debut album by a British band playing jazzy, breathy, mainly acoustic prog rock. Jon Mark and Johnny Almond had earlier played with John Mayall, while the other two musicians had played in Jody Grind and Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation. Two bonus tracks from singles. A Japanese, limited Geffen edition, from 2021. -
MARKUSFELD, ALAIN - ALAIN MARKUSFELD - Le Monde en Etages - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
It may seem unbelievable, but one of the best albums in the history of French rock is coming out on CD for the first time! Released in 1970 by the label Barclay, "Le Monde en Etage" ("The Tower Of Babel") is strongly eclectic, but free of clowning and filler, early progressive rock with strong influences of Pink Floyd-style and Hendrix-style psychedelia. Records of this kind in France can be counted on the fingers of one hand... Personally I am a big fan of this title and truly believe that having it is a must! -
MARSUPILAMI (see also: Peter Bardens) - MARSUPILAMI - Marsupilami - FRA Red Fox Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The first album by a little-known British band, harking back to the style of Jethro Tull, Jade Warrior and Focus. The record is filled with richly arranged, long tracks (8-10 minutes each), adorned with parts for, among others, organ, guitars and flute. The whole thing is digestible from the first listen. This is top-shelf progressive British playing! A must! -
MASTER'S APPRENTICES - MASTER'S APPRENTICES - Choice Cuts - GER Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
German reissue of the absolutely excellent third album in the discography, released at the beginning of 1971, by this criminally underrated Australian formation. In my humble opinion it is hard to imagine better, classic rock playing! Recorded in London (at Abbey Road), the group's third album is frenzied, hard-progressive and quite melodic playing in the vein of Cream, Jethro Tull, Wishbone Ash and Tamam Shud. Fairly short, though very substantial compositions. It is really hard to understand why this band did not become big (outside Australia)... A must! Condition: sealed. (JL) -
MAY BLITZ - MAY BLITZ - May Blitz - JAP Remastered Limited Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
An excellent, classic album - one of the true milestones of British heavy rock! Slight influences of psychedelia and blues could still be heard. Highly recommended! A limited edition from Japanese Vertigo, from 2021. -
MAY BLITZ - MAY BLITZ - May Blitz - ITA AKARMA 180g Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Long out of print, very carefully presented Italian reissue by Akarma, in a gatefold sleeve and on 180-gram vinyl, of an excellent classic album - one of the milestones of British heavy rock! You can still hear slight influences of psychedelia and blues. And that... cover! Highly recommended! Condition: NEW - sealed! -
MAYFIELD, CURTIS - CURTIS MAYFIELD - Curtis +9 - EU Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 50,00 PLN / 12,50 EUR
The debut album by the soul classic. Additionally nine tracks. -
MAYPOLE - MAYPOLE - Maypole - US Gear Fab Edition - LISTEN - OSTATNIE SZTUKIprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
The album by this American band, released in 1970, is one of my favourite records from the USA! Superb, inventive playing on the edge of late psychedelia, heavy rock and even early prog-rock! Catchy compositions, plenty of juicy, riffing guitar parts, strong, expressive drums, nice, slightly hazy vocals. On top of that the individual pieces made up a larger whole! I would compare this music to the Pretty Things from the period of "S.F. Sorrow", to the late Beatles, and also to Blue Mountain Eagle and the early recordings of Tucky Buzzard. For some unknown reason the record is titled 'The Real' on CD. A MUST! -
McCARTNEY, PAUL (see also: The Beatles) - PAUL McCARTNEY - McCartney (2LP) - EU 180g Press - LISTENprice: 320,00 PLN / 80,00 EUR
An excellent, debut album on which the former Beatle played all the instruments. An additional record with live, studio and demo recordings. -
McDONALD AND GILES (see also: King Crimson) - McDONALD AND GILES - McDonald And Giles - JAPAN Atlantic 1974 Press (+OBI) - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 600,00 PLN / 150,00 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A mega rare, second Japanese pressing (by Atlantic, from 1974) of the only, but excellent, album (released in the UK in 1970) by former members of King Crimson - once co-leader (with Fripp), the wind and keyboard player Ian McDonald and the drummer Michael Giles. The second side of the album is filled by the excellent, 23-minute suite "Birdman". Plus a lyric insert and the very rare OBI (strip). Excellent condition! The gatefold, rigid sleeve has micro-spots inside; otherwise like new: MINT- / Record in perfect condition: MINT(-) -
McDONALD AND GILES (see also: King Crimson) - McDONALD AND GILES - McDonald And Giles - UK Remastered 200g Pressprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
A wonderful album recorded in 1970 by two musicians (McDonald - the main composer playing wind instruments and Mellotron, and Giles - the drummer) from the first, best line-up of King Crimson, assisted by Pete Giles and Steve Winwood. In my opinion this record was little short of the first two King Crimson titles in quality. Remastered 2023 edition. A must! (JL) -
McDONALD AND GILES (see also: King Crimson) - McDONALD AND GILES - McDonald And Giles - US DGM Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
A wonderful album recorded in 1970 by two musicians (McDonald - the main composer, playing wind instruments and Mellotron, and Giles - the drummer) from the first, best line-up of King Crimson, assisted by Pete Giles and Steve Winwood. In my opinion this record was not much inferior in quality to the first two King Crimson titles. An edition from the DGM label, owned by Robert Fripp, from 2021. A must! (JL) -
MECKI MARK MEN - MECKI MARK MEN - Running In The Summer Night +5 - FRA Lumpy Gravy Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Please do not be put off by the rustic cover! This album, recorded in Stockholm in 1969 and released only in the States in 1970, is heavy, strongly narcotic (but without clowning), psychedelic, at moments progressive rock from Sweden - of a very high shelf! This time the leader, playing Hammonds and singing in the manner of Hendrix, took on three former musicians of the excellent, psychedelic group Baby Grandmothers and the result was a genuinely great album - harking back to the style of Pink Floyd, Iron Butterfly, Hendrix, The Doors, Cream and very early Soft Machine. The record contains, among others, two longer, 8-10 minute mini-suites. For the first time on CD the American mix, released only on vinyl in 1970, is used. The previous CD edition (in a digipak) contained the unreleased Swedish mix and just two tracks from the USA. Now the Swedish mix has been split in half between the second and third albums. A must! MIRAGE (see also: Jawbone) - MIRAGE - World Goes On Around You - Complete Recordings Incorporating Yellow Pages, Portebello Explosion And Jawbone (3CD) - UK Grapefruit Digipack Edition - LISTEN - OSTATNIE SZTUKIprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
An excellent British band playing charming, psychedelic pop, remembered mainly for a very nice, fairly faithful cover of The Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" and the brilliant, delicate "The Wedding Of Ramona Blair", known from the "Rubble" series. The band's first complete anthology, containing all their singles (including those under other names), numerous demos, previously unreleased recordings and BBC sessions. Highly recommended! (JL) -
