A black vinyl limited to 500 copies, released in a beautiful, laminated sleeve with nice photographs of the band. Spooky Tooth was a British psychedelic and later progressive band resembling a combination of early Deep Purple and Traffic (but with excellent vocals). This superb, 58-minute album contains radio sessions and unreleased studio tracks recorded during the period of the first three albums (including two tracks from the LP "Ceremony" WITHOUT Pierre Henry's overdubs). The pressing is simply excellent (no hiss whatsoever), and the sound quality perfect. A must! NEW, SEALED. -

Limited to 500 copies, an hour-long CD containing, among other things, a great, 43-minute recording of a show by the British progressive band that took place in Berlin in December 1970 (sometimes wrongly labelled as Essen 1969). Note the setlist - three numbers from the LP "Last Puff" (in much better, more dynamic versions) and several 'covers' never played on albums! It was a show from the band's last tour (before it split for three years), and the recording features, among others, the excellent keyboardist John Hawken (ex-Renaissance, later in Strawbs) and the bassist Steve Thompson, known from Bluesbreakers and Stone The Crows. The sound quality is very good (it is a copy of a recording from the mixing desk), it is a great pleasure to listen to (there are no other recordings from this period!), although not perfect. In addition, four very nice recordings are included, including two tracks from 1969 from BBC radio - unreleased on the official CD reissues! This is a real treat for all fans of this, in fact underrated, though for some time quite popular band! Highly recommended! -

I belong to the former group, although I would probably have been happier if the band had finished this record themselves, as it contains the best moments they ever recorded! Highly recommended! On CD for the first time! Released in 1972 by British Charisma, the only album by the hard-progressive group Spreadeagle is a chunk of great, guitar-driven, juicy rock (with numerous improvised parts) in the style of Wishbone Ash, very early Camel, Spontaneous Combustion, Home, as well as Ginhouse and Public Foot The Roman. The three longer tracks, lasting 21 minutes in total, are simply superb, while the four shorter compositions are hard to fault (they are really nice), although inevitably the instrumental parts are not as impressive. Generally it is completely forgotten, and at the same time very convincing, top-drawer British hard-progressive rock! Excellent production and great sound quality! Highly recommended! -

SPRING - SPRING - Spring 2 - Unreleased 1972 Album - EU Press - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Behind this gorgeous cover by Roger Dean hides the second album, unreleased at the time, by the British band Spring - a true legend of progressive rock of the early 70s! As with T2's second album (also unreleased at the time), we are dealing with a finished record (nine tracks lasting 40 minutes), only slightly worse-sounding. Slightly, since compared with the CD version the vinyl sounds superb! More dynamics, more treble, more bass and less surface noise. As for the music itself, the material is somewhat inferior to the brilliant debut, although after several listens the music gains a great deal and suddenly it turns out that it is the natural successor to the debut. It is simply that in 1972 they played a little differently than a year earlier. The Mellotrons are still present (although there are fewer), Pat Moran's wonderful vocal is the same; the melodies still captivating, while at times brass can be heard. In addition three bonus tracks, already known from the CD edition of the debut, have been included - now the whole lasts 57 minutes! The sound quality is very good, and the pressing ideal! 2017 reissue, in a gatefold sleeve. A MUST! -

The album by the group Spring, released in 1971, is top ten of the best (little-known) progressive albums from Great Britain! A combination of the moods of the King Crimson debut and Genesis's "Nursery Cryme". This edition sounds slightly better than the classic Repertoire Records CD and contains a 6-page booklet, reproducing the original vinyl sleeve, which folds out "into three". Years later drummer Pique Withers found fame and fortune in Dire Straits (the first four albums), while vocalist Pat Moran became an esteemed producer. The CD contains the same three (great) bonus tracks as on other, earlier versions. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! (JL) -

Released in 1971 by MCA, the debut album by a respected and once popular British band, directly echoing late pop-psychedelia and folk rock of the late 60s, with a pinch of early progressive rock. In fact it is hard to define the band's style unambiguously. The music is not very complicated, but the tracks are richly arranged - with very clear influences of late The Beatles, as well as The Moody Blues, but also the Incredible String Band, Simon & Garfunkel and even a bit of Zappa... All in all it is a very nice record. 2023 reissue, with bonus tracks in the form of one B-side of a single and three recordings from John Peel's programme on the BBC, from 21 September 1971.
