SPRING - Spring 2 - Unreleased 1972 Album - EU Press - VERY RARE

Behind this gorgeous cover by Roger Dean hides the second album, unreleased at the time, by the British band Spring - a true legend of progressive rock of the early 70s! As with T2's second album (also unreleased at the time), we are dealing with a finished record (nine tracks lasting 40 minutes), only slightly worse-sounding. Slightly, since compared with the CD version the vinyl sounds superb! More dynamics, more treble, more bass and less surface noise. As for the music itself, the material is somewhat inferior to the brilliant debut, although after several listens the music gains a great deal and suddenly it turns out that it is the natural successor to the debut. It is simply that in 1972 they played a little differently than a year earlier. The Mellotrons are still present (although there are fewer), Pat Moran's wonderful vocal is the same; the melodies still captivating, while at times brass can be heard. In addition three bonus tracks, already known from the CD edition of the debut, have been included - now the whole lasts 57 minutes! The sound quality is very good, and the pressing ideal! 2017 reissue, in a gatefold sleeve. A MUST!
