SLADE - SLADE - The Story Of Slade 1971-1976 (2LP) - GERMAN Polydor/Barn 1977 1st Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 350,00 PLN / 87,50 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A very rare, first edition of the superb, double German compilation from 1977, collecting the 24 best, or most popular, recordings from 1971-1976. Additionally, the record includes several titles from the A- and B-sides of singles. Great condition! The gatefold, matt sleeve has minimal scuffs here and there, but looks great: EXCELLENT+ / The records have a minimal amount (a few/a dozen or so per side) of hairline marks visible only under strong light: MINT- / MINT- -

SLADE - SLADE - British Radio Sessions 1969-1972 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
I must admit that nothing has made such an impression on me for a long time as this 80-minute limited release! During short three- or four-hour sessions, the then completely unpopular band recorded 4-5 numbers 'live' at the BBC studio, and at first these were covers of other artists' recordings. Just look at the titles! Among others, songs from the repertoire of The Beatles (a similar but sharper "Getting Better"), Traffic (the brilliant "Coloured Rain"), The Moody Blues (the beautiful "Nights In White Satin"), as well as Janis Joplin, Fairport Convention, Moby Grape, Delaney & Bonnie and the forgotten band Max Frost And The Troopers (the fantastic "The Shapes Of Things To Come")... Sensational! Slade play like gods here and this music will probably appeal to all fans of dynamic playing from the turn of the 60s and 70s! I repeat: if anyone dislikes the band for its glam image, they should still give this record a chance! Of the 25 tracks, 19 were previously released on the long-deleted, official double CD "Live At The BBC", but here the quality is marginally better (more treble and bass), and there are six unreleased tracks! Excellent sound quality on all the recordings! A MUST! (JL) -

SMOKIE - SMOKIE - Original Album Classics 1975-1978 (5CD) - EU Sony Card Sleeve Edition - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Box set containing the first five classic records by a once popular pop rock formation (now described as "a gentler Badfinger"...): "Pass It Around" (1975) and "Changing All The Time" (1975) - both still recorded under the name SMOKEY, perhaps the best of the band's whole discography, the third album "Midnight Cafe" (1976), as well as the next, equally nice ones: "Bright Lights And Back Alleys" (1977) and "Montreux Album" from 1978. All the CDs are issued as replicas of the original vinyl and slipped into a thick cardboard box. Recommended. (JL)
