CANTERBURY GLASS (see also: Steve Hackett / Genesis) - CANTERBURY GLASS - Sacred Scenes And Characters +3 - Full Version - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded & Remastered - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Reissue of a brilliant (unreleased in its day) psych-progressive masterpiece with TWO MISSING TRACKS FROM THE SAME RECORDING SESSION, UNPUBLISHED ON CD (because thought lost)! One of these tracks had appeared earlier in a DEMO version on a withdrawn CD as a bonus and that version has been added as well! What a pity that this great, progressive (recorded at the end of 1968) material did not come out on vinyl - as was planned! The story of this album is in the text printed in the gatefold sleeve (CBS and Polydor wanted to release the record; the manager outbid and the matter fell through and the band broke up); in any case it is a classic on a par with the records of Andwella's Dream, Arcadium, Czar or Arzachel! In short it is a rock mass (four tracks lasting 9-10 minutes each and two of 5 minutes) of a mystical, but decidedly rock, progressive character (slightly oriental, lightly jazzy organ, flute, a solid, swinging rhythm section, at moments sharp guitars, little vocal) - somewhat resembling early Jethro Tull, The Moody Blues and The Nice - combined with Pink Floyd of 1968 and with a pinch of the Electric Prunes of the LP "Mass In F Minor". The sound is better than on most records. Oh, on one track on the record guitarist Steve Hackett guested (with great power!), and drums were played by David Dowle - later in Brian Auger & The Trinity and Whitesnake... I highly recommend this truly original record to all lovers of British playing of 1968-69 and at the same time assure you of 100% satisfaction! The sound quality is perfect - slightly better than on the previous CD! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! -

CARAVAN - CARAVAN - Place Of My Own - A Collection Of Rare Tracks And Radio Sessions (December 1968 - March 1971) (2LP) - FRA Verne Press - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A fantastic double compilation from the Verne label, gathering all the rare and unreleased recordings made by the progressive legend (in the original line-up of Hastings/Sinclair/Sinclair/Coughlan) in 1968-1971, that is, in the period of the first three classic albums. CD collectors know most of the recordings from the bonus tracks of the 'second' and the deluxe version of the 'third', and also from the double album collecting radio recordings, although 2 tracks from the 1968 BBC archives are really rare! I have waited 25 years for just such a record! A must! Condition: NEW, but not shrink-wrapped. -

CATAPILLA - CATAPILLA - Catapilla - ITA Akarma Press - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Italian reissue of the debut album, once released by Vertigo, by this progressive, British band. Long compositions, plenty of instrumental parts, female vocals and... a riff lifted from the Allmans' "Whipping Post". On the other hand, suuuch a riff must be preceded by decent playing! Hard to find comparisons - the musicians supposedly created their own style... Maybe a little Colosseum, King Crimson and Hannibal... Gatefold sleeve, sealed. Condition: NEW - sealed. -

A jazz-rock, ephemeral band led by Keith Tippett. A double album containing a four-part suite which was performed at a concert at the Lyceum in London in November 1970. The following June, recording sessions took place at Wessex studios (London). Robert Fripp produced the album, and the cream of the British progressive scene of the time appeared on it. For the first time on CD! In addition four recordings for the BBC, from 1982. Very good production! Highly recommended! (JL) -
