SLADE - SLADE - Live At The BBC 1972 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A superb, limited edition of the live, promotional album (released in 1972 in 100 copies by the BBC Transcription Service, and years later also on the double CD "Slade At The BBC"), on a 57-minute black vinyl! The record contains an excellent-quality performance from London from August 1972 (four months before the release of the LP "Slayed?"), as well as two bonus tracks: "Darling Be Home Soon" (from British TV from June 1972) and "Coming Home" (from Belgian TV from November 1971). It is a somewhat longer and more hit-laden "Slade Alive", though the set of tracks is different (including "Look Wot You Dun", "Move Over", "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", "Lady Be Good", "Coz I Luv You", "Take Me Back 'Ome", "Good Golly Miss Molly")! The sound quality is excellent (the bonus tracks too), and the whole thing looks superb! It is a superb complement to the LP "BBC Sessions 1969-1971". A MUST! Condition: MINT, NEW, unsealed. (JL) -

SLADE - SLADE - BBC Sessions 1969-1971 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RARE - OSTATNIE SZTUKIprice: 250,00 PLN / 62,50 EUR
OUT OF PRINT! LAST COPY! A French, limited edition on 55-minute black vinyl! I must admit that nothing has made such an impression on me for a long time as Slade playing for the BBC! The record contains the band's earliest work (November 1969 - May 1971) - just before they won enormous popularity with "Get Down And Get With It" and "Coz I Luv You"! During short, three- or four-hour sessions, the then completely unpopular band recorded 4-5 numbers 'live' at the BBC studio, and at first these were covers of other artists' recordings. Just look at the titles! Among others, songs from the repertoire of The Beatles (a similar but sharper "Getting Better"), Traffic (the brilliant "Coloured Rain"), The Moody Blues (the beautiful "Nights In White Satin") as well as Janis Joplin, Fairport Convention, Moby Grape, Delaney & Bonnie and the forgotten band Max Frost And The Troopers (the fantastic "The Shapes Of Things To Come")... Sensational! Slade play like gods here and this music will probably appeal to all fans of dynamic playing from the turn of the 60s and 70s! I repeat: if anyone dislikes the band for its glam image, they should still give this record a chance! Excellent sound quality on all the recordings! A MUST! Condition: NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -

STONED ROSE - Stoned Rose – From Dawn To Jane - Guerssen Record Editionprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
A compilation of studio recordings by a British heavy rock band from 1970-1971, which for years remained in the archives. It is a great example of a "missing link" between the psychedelia of the late 60s and the emerging heavier rock of the 70s. The guitars are heavy for their time, at moments almost brushing against proto-metal, and at the same time there are extended, lightly progressive structures. For fans of early hard rock and psychedelia it will be a very valuable discovery, bringing to mind early Black Sabbath, Leaf Hound mixed with High Tide and Arzachel and at times early Pink Floyd. -

STONEHOUSE (see also: Asgard) - STONEHOUSE - Stonehouse Creek - EU Ethelion Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Another excellent, FIRST-EVER reissue from the Ethelion label - of an album practically forgotten by the world (the cover certainly did not help it, though it was signed by Keef, known from the debut of Black Sabbath and the record by the band Spring...) - until now! Yes, nobody had previously reissued this excellent and very rare title on vinyl. Released at the beginning of 1971 by RCA Victor (and now worth 400-500 euros), the Britons' only, but superb, LP contained heavy, very thoroughbred playing (with slight elements of progression) in the traditional British style, resembling somewhat the debut of Budgie, the records of May Blitz, the debut of Free and Leaf Hound. After a year two of the musicians ended up in the much gentler, though charming Asgard. Very clean, clear sound. A must! Condition: NEW, but unsealed. -
LP
STRAWBERRY PATH (see also: Flied Egg) - STRAWBERRY PATH - When The Raven Come To The Earth - FRA Absinthe Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A limited, gatefold absolute classic (recorded in March 1971) of Japanese heavy progressive playing in the style of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Soon afterwards the band changed its name to Flied Egg and recorded two superb albums in a similar style (though at times more art-rock) in the vein of Deep Purple/Uriah Heep. Excellent sound quality! Highly recommended! New, sealed. -
LP
STRAY - STRAY - Stray - EU Ethelion Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A European reissue in a gatefold sleeve (without the cut-out lettering, but with a large photograph of the band on the left side of the inner spread) of the debut album, released in 1970 by Transatlantic, by an excellent British hard-progressive band! Great, catchy compositions (including the 10-minute "All In Your Mind" - later covered by Iron Maiden!), lots of changes of rhythm, tempo and mood, and that mind-blowing, as a rule overdriven guitar sound. This record belongs to the very core canon of heavy playing and you really cannot be a fan of classic heavy rock and not have this record! A MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed. -

STRAY DOG (see also: Road) - STRAY DOG - Stray Dog - USA Manticore 1973 1st Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 300,00 PLN / 75,00 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A mega rare, first American pressing by Manticore (from 1973) of the great debut album by an American-British band (with a lyric insert and the original company inner sleeve) of guitar-driven, heavy rock with numerous improvisations and clear influences of prog rock and blues. The whole was produced by Greg Lake. This is a rock classic! It may be worth knowing that the guitarist Snuffy Walden replaced Paul Kossoff (on several tracks) on Free's LP "Heartbreaker", while the British drummer had earlier played with Noel Redding in the heavy rock band Road. The very attractive-looking sleeve, styled as perforated wood, is in great condition, though it has a promotional cut on the spine, a number written on the front and a small crease: strong EXCELLENT / Record played a few times, like new: MINT- -

SUCK - SUCK - Time To Suck +1 - EU Sun King Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A superb record from South Africa, legendary among collectors. The album contained (with one exception) only covers of more or less well-known tracks from the hard and prog rock area - all performed with great dynamism and fire. Believe me that some recordings turned out better than the originals (e.g. two Grand Funk compositions or Colosseum's "Elegy"), and whose version of "War Pigs" (this is a bonus track from a rare, South African compilation from 1971!) is better - please judge for yourself... The original vinyl (released by Parlophone) in very good condition costs nearly 2000 euros! 2024 edition, in a gatefold, matt sleeve, sealed. A must! (JL) -

SWEET - SWEET - Live In Concert Denmark 1976 - GER ZYX Music Press - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Recorded in May 1976 (after the LP "Give Us A Wink") and released in 2010 with the blessing of the bassist Steve Priest, this is live material from one of the best British hard rock bands of the mid-70s! A great set of tracks (hard rock killers mixed with dynamically performed hits) and very good, solid sound quality (though dubbed from a cassette belonging to the band's manager) - only minimally weaker than the brilliant "Live At The Rainbow 1973". 2014 edition, the first time on vinyl. Highly recommended! -

T2 (see also: Bulldog Breed) - T2 - 1971-72 (Unreleased 3rd Album) - SPA Guerssen Press - LISTENprice: 145,00 PLN / 36,25 EUR
Released only in 2012, very, very good, previously unpublished material recorded still as a trio, but already in a changed line-up - though with the vocalist/drummer/main composer Peter Dunton on board. What is there to say... T2 is the greatest mystery and the greatest hard-luck case in the history of British rock. If the brilliant second ("T2" from 1970) and this third album had appeared at the time, we would be dealing with rock masterpieces! "1971-72" contains nine recordings, of which seven stand at the band's typically very high level, while the other two are a little underdeveloped (including a decent, acoustic ballad and a nice drum solo with additions), but they still have class. Despite the fact that it is somewhat weaker material than the earlier two killers, it is still the slowly rolling, steamroller-like, dark but at the same time intriguing with sudden changes of mood T2 with sleepy vocals - just as we have known and loved for years. A 2022 Spanish reissue, dedicated to Peter Dunton, who died in January.
