Released in an attractive, laminated sleeve, a European reissue of one of literally a handful of the best (forgotten) records in the history of British rock! Released in 1970 by Decca, the album contains four fascinating, densely textured tracks full of changes of tempo and mood - characterised by wonderful playing from the whole trio, and especially the guitarist. The LP contains, among others, a 21-minute hard-progressive suite! In addition, two sensational recordings (added at the end of each side) made at the BBC studios have been included - among them the track "C.D.", one of the 10 best heavy rock numbers I have heard in my life! Limited to 500 copies, a beautifully produced (gatefold, laminated sleeve with very rare photos of the band) British black vinyl, containing never-released (on vinyl) radio recordings by one of literally a handful of the best British heavy, progressive rock bands of the turn of the 60s and 70s. On the first side of the record are three sensational tracks (lasting 22 minutes in total) made in October 1970 at the BBC studios and known from the CD editions of the debut album. The track "C.D." is one of the ten best heavy rock numbers I have heard in my life! Side two contains another track from the same session ("Highway") and a live version, recorded at the same time, of "Careful Sam" (both known in somewhat weaker versions from the second album, unreleased at the time), recorded by the BBC crew at the Marquee club in London. These two numbers appeared a few years ago on the compilation LP/CD "Look At The Sun", which contains recordings by various artists from the BBC archives. In my opinion T2's playing on this album is just as good as, if not better than, on their classic LP "It'll All Work Out In Boomland" (1970)! It is hard to find better, thoroughbred heavy rock from that era! An absolute must! -

An absolute must for every fan of very heavy sounds in the vein of Black Sabbath, Jerusalem, Night Sun and Suck - with fairly gentle vocals and two obligatory ballads. The album may be a little raw, but it has to be admitted that few achieved such sounds at the time. The only vinyl by this Peruvian band is the object of longing for almost all serious collectors of rare rock LPs - in near-perfect condition fetching prices exceeding 3000 dollars! The first side contains recordings made almost live in the studio (including a 6-minute, long version of "Whisky In The Jar"), while the second part is a 30-minute, thrilling show for a small audience, with a brilliant version of "The Rocker" and an early version of "Suicide". None of the tracks appeared on that record (or on the rare LP "Still Dangerous - Philadelphia 1977" released a few years ago), so all the versions are previously unreleased, as they come from other performances. Besides their own thrilling compositions, the band also presented their version of Hendrix's "Red House". The first track on the record gave its name to a very nice compilation... Released in 1972, the debut album by this Canadian band is very energetic and generally genuinely heavy rock full of massive guitar riffs, juicy drumming, but also catchy, harmony-sung melodies. It is an example of a record on which the commercial aspect was combined in an almost ideal way with pure, grubby rock. I know what I am writing, because I have known the album for years and listened to it dozens of times. It is worth mentioning that Terry Brown worked on the record - producer of all of Rush's classic albums! Highly recommended! CONDITION: NEW -

This tasteful, limited vinyl contains, recorded between summer 1969 and autumn 1970, only on ultra-rare BBC radio promotional vinyls - genuinely fantastic material by a hard rock formation led initially by vocalist Cliff Bennett and guitarist Ken Hensley. The band also featured drummer Lee Kerslake (ex-The Gods - later for 35 years in Uriah Heep). Several tracks (covers) never appeared on the main records, while the rest are here in much better and heavier versions! To tell the truth, this is the kind of guitar playing (the excellent Alan Kendall - later for many years in the band... Bee Gees) that totally drops your jaw! On the 1970 recordings the band reaches the level of Led Zeppelin's best work! 50 minutes in perfect sound quality! This vinyl edition sounds even better than the CD - it has more bass. Released originally in December 1970, the second in the discography, the best-known and most appreciated album by the British hard-rock trio, playing in the line-up: Glenn Hughes (bass and vocals), the guitarist Mel Galley (years later in Whitesnake) and the drummer Dave Holland (later in Judas Priest). The band played heavily, rather slowly, but with flair, and the album itself, alongside Deep Purple's LP "Burn", remains the best item in Glenn Hughes's career. Highly recommended!
