In my opinion some of the compositions (such as "A Whiter Shade Of Pale") were played, or produced, better than the studio classics! The CD contains previously unpublished (also on the British remasters) versions of three tracks: "Juicy John Pink", "Whisky Train" and "Broken Barricades". An absolute must! (JL) -

The additional CDs contain a previously unreleased recording of a performance for BBC Radio One from 9 May 1974 and the concert from Newcastle City Hall, known to some, from 16 June of the same year. First time on CD outside Japan! A long-awaited, great-sounding reissue from the Eclipse label of the debut album, released in 1974, by an American-British band led by the guitarist/vocalist Alan Ross, but with the former vocalist and keyboard player of the legendary progressive band Indian Summer - Bob Jackson! True, Jackson usually appears in additional vocals, since the vocal parts were sung by the leader, but his keyboard parts are decidedly well audible. The drums, on the other hand, were played by Tony Fernandez, later known from the records of Rick Wakeman and Strawbs. The band played very nice, superbly produced, quite ambitious and slightly American-sounding, progressive (soft) hard rock with lightly perceptible Latin influences. Additionally two live recordings from 1975 are included. Highly recommended! (JL) -

This French, 80-minute, fan-club CD contains the full 53-minute recording of the legendary, radio performance that the (then almost unknown) band gave at the famous Electric Lady Studios in New York for several dozen random spectators. The concert took place three months before the release of the LP 'Fly By Night', hence several tracks were presented in slightly altered versions. The sound quality is very good, almost ideal - only minimally muffled. This is one of the most famous items in Rush's unofficial discography - and rightly so. Attention! In addition two tracks from the legendary debut single 'Not Fade Away/You Can't Fight It', released by Moon Records in 1973 (and worth over 1000 dollars on vinyl), are included, as well as an alternative 'Working Man' from the sessions for the debut, and three tracks from Canadian television - still with drummer John Rutsey. Combined with a gallery of very attractive, rare photos, it is an essential item for every fan of the band! A must! -

A limited edition on black vinyl released by Verne Records in an attractive, laminated sleeve with rare photos of the band's first line-up - still with the drummer John Rutsey. It is the oldest known live material by Rush - recorded for a Canadian television programme on 1 April 1974 - just after the release of the debut album. The record contains otherwise unknown tracks, such as 'The Loser' and 'I've Been Runnin' and the version of 'Bad Boy' by The Beatles known from very early concerts! This 57-minute album, besides 38 minutes live, also contains 2 additional tracks from the mega-rare debut single, worth over 1000 dollars, made by the musicians' own label Moon Records (Not Fade Away/You Can't Fight It from 1973), an alternative version of 'Working Man' (1973) and a home recording with a guitar solo by Alex Lifeson from 1972. Very good, almost ideal, professional sound quality (slightly better than on the official DVD version) with recently remastered sound. A must! Condition: NEW, sealed.
