ANALOGUE SOUND! Super rare first pressing from 1973, with the pink Melodia label, of a special album recorded in Moscow, containing new versions of the band's (progressive at the time) most popular recordings of the day - including a great 20-minute interpretation of "Krywaniu, Krywaniu"! Perfect condition. It is really hard to find a better copy of this collectable title, which is usually heavily worn from playing on the old, primitive Russian record players! The very delicate, thin sleeve is very clean and has only a vinyl ring-wear mark on the thin paper and literally two small creases: EXCELLENT+ / Record practically perfect: MINT(-) -

What a treat for fans of Polish rock! The Austrian label Enigmatic has gathered together 12 tracks (lasting exactly 80 minutes) recorded in 1970-1973, sung in Polish but released in the countries of the Eastern Bloc: in Czechoslovakia (a super rare Supraphon single from 1970); in the Soviet Union (the excellent LP Skaldy from 1973) and in East Germany (3 tracks from the once popular Hallo compilations of 1972-73 - not released on the German CD). Of course the basis of this excellent CD is the two 20-minute versions of the suite 'Krywaniu Krywaniu', though the rest of the tracks are also faultless - even those pop-rock songs that we all know and like... I draw your attention to the Hammond-based Czech single - it is genuinely superb! Admittedly part of this material was once released in Poland (as the very average-sounding CD 'Skaldowie Out Of Poland'), but now the sound is so good and so clean that the older edition can simply be forgotten, although true fans will probably have both titles... If anyone does not believe that Skaldowie could play dynamic and, above all, classy (prog) rock in the style of Procol Harum or The Nice, they will certainly change their mind after listening to this CD. An absolute must! -

A nice debut album by a British 'mini-supergroup' formed by, among others, musicians from Juicy Lucy (the guitarist Micky Moody - later in Whitesnake), Freedom (the vocalist Bobby Harrison), Mark-Almond (the bassist Colin Gibson) and the Australian band McPhee (the drummer Terry Poople). The band combined somewhat heavy rock with the style of blues and country. The album appeared on vinyl from the short-lived WWA company (like the LPs of Black Sabbath, Gentle Giant and Groundhogs). Recommended. -

A four-disc edition of an album recorded by members of the band at the time the band's activity was suspended. The record was rejected by the label and plans for its release were abandoned. Randy California returned to it at the turn of the 70s and 80s, then added new parts, and the material was mixed once again. In 1981 it came out as "Adventures Of Kaptain Kopter & Commander Cassidy In Potato Land", credited to Spirit. The box set, released in 2019, contains: on CD1 - the original from 1973, on CD2 - the version from 1981, on CD3 - a performance by the group California, Kapt Kopter for KPFK FM Radio of Los Angeles, from 13 September 1972, and on CD4 - recordings for the same radio station, from seven days earlier. 22 bonus tracks have been added to the discs. A three-disc set in a rigid box, containing the albums: "St. Radigunds" from 1971, "Old Boot Wine" (with four bonus tracks) from 1972 and "Bells, Boots And Shambles" from 1973. The English band played ambitious folk rock in the style of the gentler work of Trees, Incredible String Band and Mellow Candle. It was very subtle music with the excellent vocalist Barbara Gaskin (later the wife of Dave Stewart of Egg) in the foreground. The band used a wide range of instruments, including violin, often wandering into typically progressive territory. -

Excellent two-disc CD containing 32 recordings by the band made in studios or on stage for BBC stations in 1966-2005. 2 tracks were made still under the name The Spectres, while among the compositions recorded in the pop-psychedelic period (1967-1969) there are many that did not make it onto the main albums. For me the hard-progressive tracks from 1970-73 came off spectacularly - including an excellent concert from March 1973 promoting the LP Piledriver released at the time. Recommended! -

ANALOGUE SOUND! A mega rare, first American pressing by Manticore (from 1973) of the great debut album by an American-British band (with a lyric insert and the original company inner sleeve) of guitar-driven, heavy rock with numerous improvisations and clear influences of prog rock and blues. The whole was produced by Greg Lake. This is a rock classic! It may be worth knowing that the guitarist Snuffy Walden replaced Paul Kossoff (on several tracks) on Free's LP "Heartbreaker", while the British drummer had earlier played with Noel Redding in the heavy rock band Road. The very attractive-looking sleeve, styled as perforated wood, is in great condition, though it has a promotional cut on the spine, a number written on the front and a small crease: strong EXCELLENT / Record played a few times, like new: MINT- -

Impressive line-up: drummer Jon Hiseman, bassist Mark Clarke (both from Colosseum), guitarist Allan Holdsworth (ex-Igginbottom, Nucleus) and vocalist Paul Williams (ex-Juicy Lucy and Aynsley Dunbar's Blue Whale). I draw your attention to Holdsworth's excellent guitar parts and Hiseman's dense, as always, drumming! A must! -

This wonderful double vinyl from the label Verne, limited to 500 copies, contains almost all the live bonus tracks that recently appeared on the expanded 2CD editions of "Recorded Live" and 2CD "Positive Vibrations"! This is an alternative "Recorded Live"! Only two compositions are repeated (the whole of side 4). These 100 minutes were recorded at the end of January 1973 at 4 performances during a short tour of Europe. The live RL has always been one of my favourite live albums, and certainly Ten Years After's best album! January 1973 is perhaps a tiny bit better!!! The album contains, among others, two 18-minute Jams, Spoonful, the never released "Time Is Flying", brilliant versions of "Help Me" and "Standing On The Station", and the best existing version of "I'm Going Home"! Wonderful, bluesy, heavyish, at moments progressive, full of improvisation playing with organ, a superb rhythm section and with Alvin Lee's incredible guitar parts! Perfect sound quality (I attach samples below) and a beautiful cover! A MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed. -
