The deluxe version of the excellent, only album by the former vocalist of The Action. Musicians from Mighty Baby and B.B. Blunder (that is ex-Blossom Toes) took part in the recordings. The record contains a mixture of everything that was good at the turn of the 60s and 70s, that is acoustic ballads and heavy rock, up to slightly twisted, progressive improvisations. The first CD of this edition contains a newly mastered version of the album itself, in line with the original track list released on United Artists vinyl, including the over eight-minute version of "Savannah", which had never before been released on CD. Plus two single tracks. CD2 is demo recordings from 1969, where King is supported by his former colleagues from The Action, and CD3 contains early and alternative versions of the album's tracks. The whole thing comes in a gatefold digipak, with a 20-page booklet inside. Highly recommended! (JL) -

Remastered British edition (from Esoteric), expanded with a second CD, of the third and last record by Arthur Brown's progressive formation, Kingdom Come. "Journey" is a very atmospheric and at the same time rather trippy record... There are many experiments with sound here (e.g. electronic drums), although there is as much pure rock here as on the previous two albums, and it is certainly more psychedelic than the 'second'. On the other hand, after a few listens the record turns out to be first-rate! The second CD contains, among others, tracks from singles, alternative versions of three tracks, and three tracks recorded for the BBC! Highly recommended! -

Remastered and expanded British edition! I love this record! A decidedly progressive album - perhaps at times a little difficult, but rewarding your patience after just a few listens! Brown, characterised by an incredible, diabolical voice, created with the band something like a (sometimes very) twisted suite - with plenty of juicy, progressive playing (guitars, organ) in the style of old Arthur Brown, King Crimson, rock Zappa, Nicholas Greenwood and early Atomic Rooster - and that is surely a good recommendation. Recently the CD Kingdom Come - Kingdom Come (1972) was also released. One more thing: in two tracks there is unconventional editing, so it may seem that the CD is faulty, but that is how Brown devised it and how it was recorded - also on the old vinyl! An absolute must! -

The British magazine Record Collector (once the collectors' Bible) classed the vinyl version of this CD as a 1999 REISSUE OF THE YEAR! The Klubs played heavyish, psychedelic rock in the style of Skip Bifferty and the Pretty Things. The CD version contains mainly material from 1968 (and one track each from 1967 and 1969) and as a bonus 3 tracks from 1972 (including one by Strife) and 5 from a concert in 2000. In 1972 the guitarist founded the aforementioned heavy rock band Strife. Sizeable booklet! Recommended! -

A legend of British psychedelic rock, whose only album on vinyl fetches staggering prices (even up to 4000 euros). Recorded back in 1968 and originally released in January 1969 by EMI Columbia, the material contained a mixture of the style of freakbeat, psychedelia and early prog-rock, that is, Beatles, Cream, July and The Moody Blues. A typical English record combining different sounds... Among the extras are single recordings - including the superb "First Cut Is The Deepest" (known, among others, from the "Nuggets Vol. 2" box set). Highly recommended! -

This is a sort of unofficial Free album - recorded between the records "At Last" and "Heartbreaker". Kossoff and Kirke of course played in Free; Tetsu in the Japanese Samurai (later in Free), while keyboardist Rabbit Bundrick joined Free soon afterwards (on the LP "Heartbreaker" and for the last tour), and then joined Back Street Crawler. British, very nicely produced CD. -
