REG KING - Reg King (3CD) - UK Strawberry Remastered Expanded Digipack Deluxe Edition - LISTEN

The deluxe version of the excellent, only album by the former vocalist of The Action. Musicians from Mighty Baby and B.B. Blunder (that is ex-Blossom Toes) took part in the recordings. The record contains a mixture of everything that was good at the turn of the 60s and 70s, that is acoustic ballads and heavy rock, up to slightly twisted, progressive improvisations. The first CD of this edition contains a newly mastered version of the album itself, in line with the original track list released on United Artists vinyl, including the over eight-minute version of "Savannah", which had never before been released on CD. Plus two single tracks. CD2 is demo recordings from 1969, where King is supported by his former colleagues from The Action, and CD3 contains early and alternative versions of the album's tracks. The whole thing comes in a gatefold digipak, with a 20-page booklet inside. Highly recommended! (JL)
