Expanded British edition of the only album by a great, unfortunately somewhat forgotten, British formation playing eclectic prog rock in the style of The Nice, Egg and Atomic Rooster (without guitar, but you hardly notice...) based on the interplay of heavy Hammond organ and the rhythm section. In addition the record includes several almost hard rock tracks, including the original version of the track "Black Sheep Of The Family" - known from the debut of the group Rainbow. Among the bonus tracks are two tracks from a single, one live recording and the unreleased "Afraid Not". The second disc is a DVD audio with the album in a Surround version. Highly recommended! On CD for the first time! Released in 1975 by American United Artists, the third album in the career of this talented keyboardist may be an enormous surprise to many listeners! How is it possible that this excellent, progressive album from the States, kept at the level of the best achievements of the mid-70s, was so completely passed over/forgotten by fans of progressive rock and by CD publishers! In any case, MQ's best record in the discography is dominated by strongly classicising playing in the vein of Trace, Refugee, Focus, Rick Wakeman and early Queen. And however these comparisons may sound (repellent to some, no doubt), the record is filled with juicy, thoroughbred, almost entirely instrumental, progressive playing based on the sound of organ, mellotron and piano and quite sharp guitar and a solid rhythm section. It is enough to listen to the first two or three minutes of the 20-minute title suite to be sure that we are dealing with a record that is perhaps not entirely original, but in its own way truly exceptional! Oh, Michael Quatro is the biological brother of the once very popular Suzi... Highly recommended! -

The material under the name Rainbow Band was recorded as early as 1970, while a year later - after a change of name (and vocalist) - the band, now under the name Midnight Sun, played the whole thing again! Hotlegs (later 10cc) appear here as Ramases' (real name Kimberley Barrington Frost) backing band. Remastered 2011 edition, expanded with six tracks from the 1975 album "Glass Top Coffin". Recommended! -

Released in 1970 by Polydor, the first solo album by an American guitarist known for collaborating with many leading artists. On his debut album he offered an excellent mixture of progressive rock, jazz, blues and folk. In fact it is hard to define the style of this album unambiguously. We have here almost the best of 1970... Nice, bluesy guitar parts, jazzy brass interludes, subtle flute parts and an almost psychedelic mood. In a word, it is a very good album that will certainly please all fans of the genre. In the late 70s Elliot Randall was a session musician on, among others, records by Steely Dan and Yoko Ono, and also took part in recording the soundtrack to the cult film Blues Brothers. Recommended! -

A new, LIMITED edition with a bonus track. Originally released in 1971 by RCA Neon, Raw Material's second album is one of the most wonderful (little-known) progressive titles recorded in Britain! Long, complex compositions, melodies that get 'into the ear' straight away, clear arrangements and a full, rock sound. Guitars, saxophone, flute, mellotron, organ... The whole thing resembled the recordings of very early Genesis and Van Der Graaf Generator - with a pinch of Jethro Tull and King Crimson. This is an absolutely ESSENTIAL item for every lover of progressive sounds from the turn of the 60s and 70s! The debut is somewhat reminiscent of the work of The Nice and Rare Bird combined with Brian Auger's Trinity - though it could be more varied. The second album, however, is stunning! The short tracks form an eclectic, 40-minute suite. Somewhat "Zappa-like" progression in full measure - plenty of sound effects, sudden changes of style and rhythm. Recommended! -

The additional CDs contain a previously unreleased recording of a performance for BBC Radio One from 9 May 1974 and the concert from Newcastle City Hall, known to some, from 16 June of the same year.
