The last album of the 70s and at the same time the last released by Warner Bros. Somewhat less progressive, but all in all very nice. The subsequent records were already much weaker! (JL) -

RENAISSANCE - RENAISSANCE - Illusion - EU Repertoire Edition - LISTENprice: 65,00 PLN / 16,25 EUR
The second album by this excellent band. Decidedly progressive material referring to the music of the Middle Ages, the Baroque, classical jazz and rock. In the last, longest track Don Shinn played keyboards - (un)known from the brilliant album "Takes A Trip" (1969). Highly recommended! -
CD
RENAISSANCE - RENAISSANCE - Illusion - GER Repertoire Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
A classic, the second album, released at the end of 1970 only in Germany and the Netherlands, and only six years later in the British Isles. The early Renaissance with Keith Relf, from 1969-1970, was an excellent band, somewhat more psychedelic than the line-up known from the records made with vocalist Annie Haslam, after 1971. A must! RENAISSANCE - RENAISSANCE - Renaissance +2 - GER Repertoire Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 65,00 PLN / 16,25 EUR
A superb, progressive (with psychedelic touches) debut - with Keith Relf (ex-Yardbirds) on vocals! Also appearing on the record: the former Yardbirds drummer Jim McCarthy, the future bassist of Colosseum and Steamhammer Louis Cennamo, and the future keyboardist of The Strawbs John Hawken. In addition, two rare single recordings from 1970. A MUST! (JL) -
CD
RENAISSANCE - RENAISSANCE - Renaissance - GER Repertoire Remastere Card Sleeve Editionprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
An excellent, progressive debut (with psychedelic touches) - with Keith Relf (ex-Yardbirds) on vocals! The record also features the former Yardbirds drummer Jim McCarthy, the future Colosseum and Steamhammer bassist Louis Cennamo and the future Strawbs keyboardist John Hawken. After the second record the band changed its line-up radically but the music stayed almost the same. Renaissance is an English band combining elements of rock, folk and classical music. Great arrangements, very melodic compositions, symphonic sweep and the lovely female vocals of Annie Haslam. The early albums (up to 1978) are truly wonderful. Remastered edition in mini LP form. RUFUS ZUPHALL - RUFUS ZUPHALL - Phallobst +5 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Another, somewhat forgotten, krautrock gem! After the self-financed release in January 1971 of the strongly Jethro Tull-like debut album 'Weiss Der Teufel' the band was snapped up by the progressive-folk label Pilz and in the same year the splendid Phallobst reached the shops. The record combined, in a striking way, classic, at times heavyish progressive rock with elements of folk, blues and psychedelia, and its sound, as on the debut, relied among other things on the characteristic flute, restrained but charming vocal parts and of course on extended instrumental parts. So, not far from what the Jethro Tull musicians offered on their 'Benefit' and 'Aqualung'! The German band did not waste its time in the studio - the 'second one' sounded more professional than the (in its own way splendid, raw-sounding) debut; moreover the musicians did not shy away from experiments with sound or striking changes (speeding-ups) of tempo. Of course this is not music that grabs you the first time, but it is very rewarding after several listens! Additionally 5 demo recordings from 1972 are included, intended for the third album 'Avalon And On', unreleased at the time. Without doubt this is the best-sounding CD version! A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

RUFUS ZUPHALL - RUFUS ZUPHALL - Weiss der Teufel +3 - EU Prog Gems Expanded Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A revelation! The debut, truly exquisite album by a German progressive band, released in January 1971, strongly reminiscent of early Jethro Tull recordings, but served more raw and in a slightly psychedelic style. Clear melodies, plenty of flute, dense drums, overdriven guitar. The band released the record at its own expense in a run of 500 copies, and original vinyls in the rarely seen, great condition are worth over 1000 euros! Additionally included are two tracks from 1970 which did not fit on the original LP and an early version of a track that appeared on the second album, "Phallobst" (1971). In my opinion it is one of the best ten titles from the circle of German prog rock! Without doubt this is the best-sounding CD version! A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

Both albums by a British progressive band (made up of the cream of British session musicians) playing quite heavy, guitar-driven rock harking back to the style of Wishbone Ash/Humble Pie/Faces, and sometimes even to psychedelia. -

RUSH - RUSH - Live In Northampton March 1975 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released in France in a limited run, superb, live and recently discovered material originally recorded in March 1975 in Northampton in America, during the tour promoting the LP "Fly By Night" and broadcast by a local radio station. The quality of this CD is almost perfect! Additionally (at the end) is the unique, only known live version of the epic "Necromanacer", from 1975 - unfortunately in poor quality. A modest but tasteful booklet with concert photographs from the tour. An absolute must! (JL) -
CD
RUSH - RUSH - Live At Electric Lady Studios, December 1974 - FRA On The Air - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This French, 80-minute, fan-club CD contains the full 53-minute recording of the legendary, radio performance that the (then almost unknown) band gave at the famous Electric Lady Studios in New York for several dozen random spectators. The concert took place three months before the release of the LP 'Fly By Night', hence several tracks were presented in slightly altered versions. The sound quality is very good, almost ideal - only minimally muffled. This is one of the most famous items in Rush's unofficial discography - and rightly so. Attention! In addition two tracks from the legendary debut single 'Not Fade Away/You Can't Fight It', released by Moon Records in 1973 (and worth over 1000 dollars on vinyl), are included, as well as an alternative 'Working Man' from the sessions for the debut, and three tracks from Canadian television - still with drummer John Rutsey. Combined with a gallery of very attractive, rare photos, it is an essential item for every fan of the band! A must! -
CD
RUSH - RUSH - Live In St. Louis 1980 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released in France in a limited run, live material originally recorded by the Canadian label Anthem in February 1980, during the tour promoting the LP "Permanent Waves" and released in a minimal run on a two-disc, promotional vinyl. In the States this material was officially released by the NBC network, in the series "The Source". This is top-shelf Rush! The 75-minute performance (please look at the fantastic set of tracks, including "Natural Science" and "2112") has been supplemented on CD with the bonus "Vital Signs" - a track not released on the CD/LP "Exit... Stage Left", and coming from the other side of the vinyl single "New World Man" (1982). Perfect sound quality - better than on "All The World's A Stage" and "Exit... Stage Left"! 80 minutes of music. Modest but tasteful booklet with concert photos from 1980. Highly recommended! (JL) -
CD

An excellent, sixth in the career (fifth studio) album by the Canadian trio, containing the 11-minute "Xanadu" and the 10-minute "Cygnus X-1" (both are hard-progressive mini-suites), and besides that "Closer To The Heart", the superb title track and the mellotron-adorned "Madrigal". A MUST! (JL)
