GENESIS - GENESIS - BBC Sessions 1970 ('Night Ride' Session + 'Genesis Plays Jackson' Tape) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A revelation! This is a new and improved version of the LP "Going Out To Get You", released 10 years ago (the first album produced by the Verne label) and at the same time the missing link between the debut LP "From Genesis To Revelation" and the brilliant "Trespass"! A fan club, collectors' and attractively released LP limited to 500 copies, containing 52 minutes of superb music by Genesis in the line-up with the guitarist Anthony Phillips and the drummer John Mayhew (that is, still before the era of Hackett and Collins), recorded in January and February 1970. It was a very creative period in the band's career, since the shy pop-psychedelic band suddenly transformed into a thoroughbred, progressive band with a unique, slightly folky sound. This wonderful LP contains two sessions for the BBC: from January 1970 (four tracks found after 35 years from a tape labelled "Genesis Plays Jackson" - originally recorded with a documentary film about a British painter in mind and included only on the expensive, 13-disc CD/SACD box set "1970-1975") and from February 1970 (five recordings, including early versions of "Stagnation" and "Looking For Someone" and three unique titles not released on the band's classic albums!). As a bonus a very rare demo track (by Phillips and Rutherford) from the autumn of 1969 has been added - previously unreleased on vinyl! The sound quality is ideal - even better than on the older, quiet version, and the pressing much better than the somewhat hissy old version ('Going Out To Get You') which came from a very mediocre pressing plant. The almost fairy-tale, fully laminated cover contains several rare photographs and reproductions of unique memorabilia. A MUST! Condition: MINT (NEW, but unsealed). -
LP
GENESIS - GENESIS - Live In Pittsburgh 1976 (2LP) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
Released in a beautiful, laminated sleeve, a two-disc vinyl LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, containing a fantastic-sounding, over 100-minute concert from April 1976 - professionally recorded for a radio programme, shortly after the start of the American tour promoting the just-released LP "A Trick Of The Tail". It was the first tour with Phil Collins as vocalist, and also the only one with Bill Bruford (ex-Yes, King Crimson) as a guest drummer! And of course, still with Steve Hackett on guitar! Moreover, it was only then that the band performed "White Mountain", known from the LP "Trespass"! Together with the Hammersmith performance in London, it is the best-sounding concert of the entire 1976 tour! All the musicians are perfectly audible! An absolute must for fans of progressive rock! Both black vinyl discs are perfectly pressed! A must! Condition: NEW, unsealed. -
LP
GENESIS - GENESIS - Live In Rome (April 1972) - EU Open Mind Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve (inside with a very nice, large photo from the concert), a single European vinyl, LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, containing a very good-sounding, thrilling, hour-long concert recorded by a fan on a decent reel-to-reel recorder at Rome's Piper Club in April 1972, during the tour promoting the LP "Nursery Cryme". For many years this classic material circulated in a much worse-sounding version (still considered good) - transferred too fast, what is more. This material comes from a new, much better source and, of course, at the right speed. The 180-gram black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -

A soundtrack album for the 1975 film "Profondo rosso" ("Deep Red"), composed and performed mainly by the Italian progressive band Goblin, which was the band's first collaboration with the director Dario Argento. Argento originally contacted the jazz pianist and composer Giorgio Gaslini to write the music for the film, but was dissatisfied with his work, finding it "awful". After failing to persuade Pink Floyd, Argento returned to Italy and came across the band Goblin. 2023 Italian edition, in a gatefold sleeve. -
LP
GONG (see also: Soft Machine / Daevid Allen) - GONG - Continental Circus +1 - EU Ethelion Remastered Expanded Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A European, remastered edition from the Ethelion label of the third album in the discography (though recorded in May 1971 - at the very start of the sessions for the second LP "Camembert Electrique"), being a recording of the soundtrack to a film about motorcycle racing, released only in France. Gong are of course the legendary, psych-progressive, French-British band led by the eccentric Daevid Allen. In my humble opinion (at the moment) it is this band's best album; perhaps not as refined as the brilliant 'Camembert', but certainly more 'rock' and played almost entirely seriously. The catalogue record is filled almost exclusively with expansive (3 times 9-11 minutes + 4 minutes of sound collage), somewhat cosmic, guitar improvisations based on a hypnotic bass line and heavily driving, though often jazzy, drumming. This is a template of how the transition from late psychedelia to early prog rock should sound! Zero synthesisers and little vocals! As a bonus a 13-minute, unique, live version of the excellent "Blues For Findlay", from the album, has been added. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: NEW, SEALED. (JL) -

LP
GRAVY TRAIN - GRAVY TRAIN - Second Birth - FRA Long Hair Press - LISTENprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
Released at the beginning of 1973, the third album in the discography (and the first for the Dawn label - after leaving Vertigo) is without a doubt the hardest, most dynamic title in the career of this British, hard-progressive band. According to conventional opinion it is a rather average record, but for me heavy, juicy playing of the early Jethro Tull (lots of strong flute) or Uriah Heep kind is never average. Half of the album is simply superb and beats the vast majority of the material from the first two albums hands down, while the remaining four tracks (including one very Beatles-like) do not drop below a good level. It is a genuinely very good record and, what is more, one that sounds very good! A 2020 reissue. Highly recommended!
