ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA - ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA - Electric Light Orchestra II - US United Artists 1973 1st Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 350,00 PLN / 87,50 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A very rare, first American United Artists edition (from 1973, in a completely changed sleeve compared with the UK version) of the most 'progressive' record by this band. The album contains four expansive recordings, combining the style of classic, Beatles-like rock with typical prog rock of the time, and the hit "Roll Over Beethoven" - the track thanks to which Jeff Lynne's band gained worldwide popularity! It really is a piece of good and quite inventive playing. Additionally an inner sleeve with lyrics. Great condition! The stiff, gatefold sleeve has slight scuffs, otherwise it is very fresh: EXCELLENT+ / The record almost like new: MINT(-) -

LP
ELONKORJUU - ELONKORJUU - Harvest Time +1 - EU Ethelion Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A remastered and excellent-sounding vinyl edition of a Finnish rock classic - together with a bonus track! In my opinion, alongside the debut album by Culpeper's Orchard, it is the best rock record ever made in Scandinavia and certainly in the top twenty of continental Europe! Released in 1972 by the Finnish branch of EMI Parlophone, the LP "Harvest Time" is on the wish list of almost every serious vinyl collector. Unfortunately the original copies (in nearly ideal condition) that appear on the market once a year easily exceed 1200 euros and as such are rather out of reach... As for the music, it is a wonderful and incredibly catchy combination of the style of heavy rock of the Budgie, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple kind, the progressive elements of the work of early Jethro Tull and a large pinch of Scandinavian... sadness. Here everything fits together perfectly: the superb, very atmospheric though usually feisty electric guitar parts and the Hammonds echoing in the background and the dark vocals and finally the very juicy and at the same time slightly jazzy drumming... All the melodies catch the ear almost at once and at moments it is hard to believe that it is such good playing! No, I repeat no fan of heavy progressive rock can function normally without this record! Additionally an excellent, 8-minute track released in 1971 on the very rare, local Finnish compilation "Pop Mestarit" is included. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! (JL) -

EMERSON LAKE & PALMER - EMERSON LAKE & PALMER - Live In Brussels 1971 - UK Far Out Limited Press - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a beautifully produced (in a gatefold, laminated sleeve with nice photos of the band) 53-minute British black vinyl, containing an excellently recorded concert from March 1971, not previously released on record (only on a rare DVD), recorded in Brussels, four months after the release of the brilliant debut album. The band presented the whole first side in slightly extended versions, plus a 17-minute version of The Nice's classic "Rondo" and "Nutcracker" combined with bluesy rock and roll. The sound quality is excellent and it is a fantastic complement to the classic album "Pictures At An Exhibition", recorded two weeks later! Together these two albums present the band's full live repertoire of that period! And that superb cover! A must! -

EPITAPH - EPITAPH - Epitaph - GRE Missing Vinyl Limited Press - LISTENprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
Epitaph was at first a mixed, British-German band - only over the years transformed into an exclusively German one. Released in 1971 by Polydor, the band's great debut album (with British vocals) contained a rather thunderous dose of bluesy, catchy-guitar-riff-based, heavy progressive rock (Mellotron, Hammond) of the highest shelf. This record has been with me for the last 30 years and needs no recommendation! 2024 reissue, on black vinyl, limited to 400 copies. A must! (JL) -

The second album by a German band formed from the ashes of the legendary bands Nosferatu and Orange Peel. On "Move On" it combined the convention of hard rock with elements of classical music. FAMILY - FAMILY - BBC Sessions 1968-1969 (2LP) - AUS Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 200,00 PLN / 50,00 EUR
Family is one of the most important British progressive formations of the turn of the 60s and 70s, with the charismatic vocalist Roger Chapman (and bassist Rick Grech, later known from Blind Faith and Traffic). Unfortunately, very popular and esteemed in the British Isles (at the start of their career the Beatles went to their concerts!) - they never broke through in the States (not to mention Poland). This superb, limited double vinyl from the label Merida contains 26 tracks (lasting 105 minutes) from the BBC radio archives - recorded over the course of one year - after the release of the debut album and before the release of the 'third'. The double LP contains seven tracks unreleased on CD: the studio "Hometown" and "Bring It On Home" and five live tracks (of average quality, but superbly played) from November 1968. The whole thing sounds excellent (with the exception of the aforementioned side 4), and compared with the CDs several tracks not only sound better, but are not faded. The pressing is excellent, very clean, with great dynamics. The very attractive, stylish, gatefold cardboard sleeve (in the American style) corresponds perfectly with the music. The record has long been out of print! A must! -
LP
FANTASY (UK Prog) - FANTASY - Paint A Picture +1 - FRA Absinthe Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A French reissue in a gatefold sleeve, with the B-side of a rare 1973 single added! The sole album (released at the time) contained charming, richly arranged music close to the work of Genesis, Barclay James Harvest and Wishbone Ash. The fairly short (not exceeding five minutes), beautiful compositions made up an entry in the absolute canon of British progressive rock! Unfortunately, at the time practically nobody bought the record and today the mega-rare, first (and only) British Polydor edition in perfect condition fetches an astronomical 2000 euros! The colours of the sleeve (usually faded), the sound and the pressing are perfect! New, sealed. An absolute must! -

FANTASY (US Prog) - FANTASY - Fantasy - EU Rabbit Hall Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
This is not a British band, but a progressive, slightly bluesy outfit from the States with a single album, released by Liberty in 1970. The American Fantasy is a very eclectic combination of psychedelic style with a pinch of blues and jazz, and with a typically progressive (quite British) delivery! Quite long tracks, nice guitar solos, ubiquitous, heavy Hammond organ tones and a female, very nice vocal! Typical 1970... -
LP
FAR OUT - FAR OUT - Far Out - IRL Rabbit Hall Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
The album, released in 1973 (sometimes also called Nihonjin), contained only two compositions of nearly 20 minutes each, kept in the vein of guitar Pink Floyd ("Echoes"), but at times brushing against heavy rock in the style of Deep Purple. The somewhat oriental sound merely adds a special charm to this original record, sung in English. 2016 Irish reissue, in a gatefold sleeve, of the excellent Japanese album. A cut-out insert is included with the record. NOTE! The original vinyl from the period is worth over 1000 euros! An absolute must! -

FARLOWE, CHRIS with THE HILL (see also: Colosseum / Atomic Rooster) - CHRIS FARLOWE WITH THE HILL - From Here To Mama Rosa - UK Repertoire 180g Press - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
I have always thought very highly of this almost completely unknown record, released by Polydor in 1970! Let me say at once that it is in no way the rhythm'n'blues-pop-soul known from the earlier (widely known) albums, but richly arranged and classically delivered progressive rock (with a dominant Hammond organ sound) at a very high level! Farlowe was not quite the main protagonist of this album, as the music itself was reportedly made much earlier, and the vocalist merely added his vocal parts at the end. The band The Hill, meanwhile, which grew out of the last line-up of the Thunderbirds, includes the keyboard player Peter Robinson (then in Quatermass), the guitarist and great composer Steve Hammond (ex-Fat Mattress, Quatermass) and the cellist Paul Buckmaster (early Elton John, Third Ear Band). So it is hardly surprising that the result was an exquisite, very refined, though not the easiest to take in (that is praise) album. Of course the record did not sell at all, and in that same year, 1970, Farlowe recorded the LP "Daughter Of Time" with Colosseum. Highly recommended! (JL) -
LP
FELT - FELT - Felt - EU Sun King Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A new, limited, European edition of the only album by this American band, being the absolute peak of guitar-driven and practically psych-progressive, at times strongly improvised playing with slightly bluesy influences. All the compositions genuinely stick in the ear, and their interpretation (for an unknown group of teenagers from deep in the provinces) inspires unfeigned admiration! It is not hard to understand that the original vinyl reaches prices exceeding 1500 dollars! Excellent sound! An absolute must! Condition: NEW, unsealed (JL) -
LP
FERMATA - FERMATA - Huascaran - CZECHOSLOVAKIAN Opus 1981 Press - EXCELLENT PLUS VINTAGE VINYLprice: 250,00 PLN / 62,50 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A very rare Czechoslovak 1981 edition of the band's third album, devoted to the earthquake in Peru, on 31 May 1970, in which Czechoslovak mountaineers died. The instrumental "Huascaran" consists of four long tracks and is a true masterpiece of Czechoslovak jazz-rock! Sleeve: EXCELLENT / Record: MINT(-)
