CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN (see also: Kingdom Come / Atomic Rooster / Nicholas Greenwood) - CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN - Crazy World Of Arthur Brown (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Editionprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Two-disc, remastered edition of the brilliant debut album by Arthur Brown (or rather the formation The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown). Without a doubt it is one of the most interesting items of the late 60s. An incredible vocalist (inspired by the singing of Otis Redding and James Brown), insistent organ (Vincent Crane - later in Atomic Rooster), nice bass (Nicholas Greenwood - known from the LP "Cold Cuts" and the group Khan); dynamic, superbly arranged, at moments almost diabolical compositions and finally the incredible, hit "Fire"! The whole thing was produced by Pete Townshend. A genuine classic of the psychedelic era! The additional, second disc, with mostly unreleased material, contains, among others, a great session for BBC radio, alternative mixes in mono and the original version of the track Fire! Very attractively presented British CD from Esoteric with a nice booklet full of photos. An absolute must! -

CREATION OF SUNLIGHT - Sunlight - Creation of Sunlight - Guerssen Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A very tastefully released edition (remastered, with a booklet and a bonus track) of an absolute classic from the area of pop-psychedelic rock (with early-progressive touches). This vinyl, once released in a run of 500 copies, is worth over 1000 dollars today and it must be admitted that the price almost matches its musical content! No, I repeat: no lover of psychedelic playing in the vein of Strawberry Alarm Clock, Moby Grape, American Genesis and Love (from the Forever Changes period) can pass this record by indifferent! This album, recorded in professional conditions, is full of catchy melodies; superbly arranged, at times almost progressive - with occasional flute parts, with numerous Hammond phrases and generally it is an item from the top American psychedelic shelf!! A must! New, sealed. -
CRUCIFERIUS - CRUCIFERIUS! - A Nice Way Of Life - GER Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Remastered, German edition of the very successful album, from 1970 (the back of the case bears an erroneous date of 1975!), by a French formation (with an English vocal) playing late, somewhat eclectic, heavyish psychedelia with organ. A really very good record! Highly recommended. -
CZERWONE GITARY - CZERWONE GITARY - Spokój serca +8 - ITA Eastern Time Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a very rare Italian 2015 reissue of Czerwone Gitary's only truly rock album! Recorded in January 1971 as a trio, this fifth album in the discography is one of literally 5-6 best Polish rock records of the seventies! The band showed a completely changed, at times almost psychedelic face, and Seweryn Krajewski enchanted with the quite powerful sound of an electric guitar plugged into a wah-wah effect! The album contained only two slightly easier tracks: the beautiful "Płoną góry płoną lasy" and the rather charming "Uwierz mi Lili" that opened the original vinyl - relegated to track number 4 on the CD. The rest is real, at times very atmospheric, ambitious rock! Please do not pull a face, or shake your head in disbelief. This title is very rare on Polish vinyl, because back in the day almost nobody bought it and as a result the band, threatened with a complete loss of popularity, gave up rock for good... For over 20 years, though, "Spokój serca" has been quite popular and sought after among Western collectors of rare records - hence, presumably, this reissue! The content of the album has been supplemented with eight rare or even mega-rare, generally exquisite recordings from the same period, including the full version, extended by a minute and a half (compared with the rare vinyl EP from 1971), of the jaw-dropping "Pejzaż miasta" (now 7:30 long - with Seweryn's brilliant, extended guitar improvisation), several never-released radio recordings and several numbers from nice East German singles - including a superb version of my favourite "Nocne całowanie" - on this superb CD in as many as three versions! Inside the booklet are reproductions of rare record sleeves from the period. Note! This CD sounds excellent, very clean and dynamic - miles better than the hissy and muffled Polish version from the 90s! An absolute must! (JL) -

DAVIS, SPENCER -GROUP- (see also: Hardin And York) - SPENCER DAVIS GROUP - Taking Out Time: Complete Recordings 1967-1969 (3CD BOX) - UK RPM Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
A beautifully produced three-disc box set containing recordings from what is, in my opinion, the most interesting period of this popular band's output (1967-1969), that is, made after the departure of Stevie Winwood, who was replaced by the 17-year-old keyboard player Eddie Hardin! In spring 1967 the hitherto rhythm'n'blues band began a fairly serious flirtation with psychedelia, resulting in two fantastic singles and the soundtrack LP to the cult film "Here We Go Round Mullberry Bush" (here also with additional material from the same session). The band's best moment, however, was the fourth album in the discography, the superb LP "With Their New Face On" (January 1968). In my opinion this is genuinely stunning playing - something like a cross between The Artwoods and the psychedelic Beatles, The Move, Procol Harum and with a pinch of Cream. In addition, the almost progressive album "Funky" from 1969, not seen on CD for 15 years, has been added, a mixture of everything that was being played at the time. All three records have been garnished with plenty of bonus tracks, and the third disc includes, among other things, previously unreleased, fantastic sessions made for BBC radio. Fans of the band need not pay attention to the fact that some of this material was previously available. The whole thing lasts four hours, and the set also includes a very nice booklet, so it is certainly worth being tempted! Highly recommended! (JL) -

A forgotten but fantastic classic of American rock! The band played dynamic, bluesy, heavy rock with distinct psychedelic touches - something like very early Hendrix (from the "Are You Experienced" period) and The Who (on the single "I Can See For Miles"), only somewhat heavier. Highly recommended! (JL) -

EDEN'S CHILDREN - EDEN'S CHILDREN - Sure Looks Real - Sundazed Music Editionprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
An American edition of the second album by a very nice American band playing a heavyish, decidedly guitar-driven variety of psychedelic rock - from time to time inspired by the music of the East. The debut once even reached the 'honourable' 196th place on the Billboard chart... Recommended. -

EDWARD BEAR - EDWARD BEAR - Bearings - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
On CD for the first time! Edward Bear is the real name of Winnie the Pooh, as well as the name of this excellent Canadian trio! Released in 1969 by Capitol, the group's debut album is for us an incredible sensation and another reason that there is still plenty of excellent, top-shelf old music left to discover! This relatively (still) unknown album is a sophisticated and catchy combination of early prog rock, late rock psychedelia, blues and ambitious baroque pop. Procol Harum, The Beatles, Andwella's Dream, early Traffic, Cream - these are the names to which the music of this underrated formation can be compared. Great sound! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! -
EIRE APPARENT (see also: Jimi Hendrix / Ernie Graham) - EIRE APPARENT - Sunrise +7 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This excellent album, released in spring 1969, was produced by Jimi Hendrix! More importantly, the brilliant guitarist appeared on as many as nine tracks, where he either played solo parts or embellished them in his own way. But even without Hendrix's participation it would be a great psychedelic album (sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier...), combining nice, catchy melodies with professional performance - as befitted 1969. The six-minute, almost epic "Mr. Guy Fawkes", meanwhile, is one of the best psychedelic tracks I have heard in my life! I find it a little hard to understand how such good material went almost completely unnoticed! In addition, two very rare tracks from the debut single are included, as well as 33 minutes of archive live material (of heavily bootleg quality) recorded in January 1969 in Germany. In any case, fans of Tomorrow, Pretty Things, Grapefruit (from the debut period) and of course the Jimi Hendrix Experience cannot properly function without this record! Excellent sound quality! A MUST! -

ELECTRIC PRUNES - ELECTRIC PRUNES - Mass In F Minor - GER Reprise Editionprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This is a practically instrumental, intriguing rock mass. "Kyrie Eleison" was used in the film "Easy Rider". A 2000 German edition of the cult, psychedelic record. For some it is the best album in the band's discography, although most prefer the first two titles... Highly recommended! (JL) -
