A limited European CD lasting as much as 78 minutes, containing excellent material recorded in February 1981 in Tokyo during the legendary tour promoting the earlier LP 'Back In Black' and broadcast on the radio! This was AC/DC with Brian Johnson in great form, and with a killer set of tracks! The whole thing (except for 4 tracks) in great, almost professional sound quality (slightly better than the YouTube versions) but even those 4 tracks (taken from a video broadcast and remastered) sound very good! This British band plays, sounds and looks as if it had been plucked straight from 1970-73! The sensational debut album combines the best of heavy rock from 40 years ago: the heaviness of Black Sabbath, the raw sound of MC5 and Blue Cheer, the finesse of Cream and Led Zeppelin and the untamed energy of the Budgie debut... Yes indeed, this material, recorded as a trio, is probably most reminiscent of the first album by the Welshmen. The whole thing sounds as if the musicians had simply walked into the studio, grabbed their instruments and recorded everything in one go! A great record, though the rather raw vocal may not appeal to everyone... Definitely recommended. (K) -

A great album (RELEASED IN 1970 IN THE CHANGED, AMERICAN COVER KNOWN FROM THE OLD VINYL ON THE MERCURY LABEL) recorded with the participation of Eyes Of Blue musicians (later Big Sleep). Lots of strong, guitar riffs; a heavy, intense sound - although the record does not lack calmer, ballad-like passages. On several tracks Gary Pickford-Hopkins (later known from Wild Turkey) sang as a guest. Highly recommended! (JL) -

The second disc has live and radio recordings and tracks that did not fit on the record. A MUST! (JL) -

A two-CD British edition produced in cooperation with guitarist John Cann - containing almost all the material the band recorded. The first CD (76 minutes) contains the catalogue LP "Andromeda" (RCA, 1969) + 8 extras. The second CD, running for over 70 minutes, contains, among other things, a great BBC radio session from 1968 (5 tracks); three good tracks that did not make it onto the catalogue LP and a few archive live recordings (unfortunately of weaker quality). A MUST! -

Please don't be misled by the 'angelic' look (once devised by the Casablanca label as an 'anti-Kiss') - this band played juicy rock! A 2025 reissue. Highly recommended! (JL) -

The first two, superb and at the same time by far the best albums in the career of this once quite popular American band (discovered by Gene Simmons of Kiss) playing a combination of hard and progressive rock (with a pinch of glam). The first, in my opinion stunning (!) hard-progressive album resembled the work of early Rush (and a beefed-up Pavlov's Dog), Led Zeppelin of the time and Genesis (from the period of A Trick Of The Tail) and actually contains no weak spots! Very catchy, riffing compositions, rocking guitars, nice, very dense keyboard parts (mellotron, Moog, organ) - you cannot tear yourself away! One of the 3-5 coolest American albums of the mid-70s! The second LP (from 1976) was in a very similar and even slightly more hard-rock style. Please do not look at the smoothed-out image (supposedly in opposition to Kiss), just buy this record! An absolute must! -

This is a splendid German band which, for unknown reasons, has two "g"s instead of two "d"s in its name! So please do not confuse it with the British band with the album from 1975! The Germans' only record is a rather unique, heavy-progressive rock masterpiece based on the interplay of heavy, overdriven guitar, a powerful rhythm section, slightly Hendrix-like vocals and rather timid phrases on electric piano. The whole thing was inspired by recordings of Deep Purple, Spooky Tooth and Hendrix. In fact the band performed, among others, great versions of compositions by Spooky Tooth and the Jeff Beck Group. This record, released at the end of 1970, should satisfy most fans of early Grand Funk, Sir Lord Baltimore and the Australian Buffalo. After the break-up of Armaggedon guitarist Frank Diez played, among others, on the second Emergency album and on the debut of Atlantis. A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
