A six-disc set containing an anthology of the British hard rock band, led by the drummer Cozy Powell and the guitarist Dave Ball (later in Procol Harum). The first two CDs contain the band's only album, in a 2023 mix (+ two bonus tracks) and in the original. The next discs are a recording of a performance in London, on 22 October 1973 (with the addition of Powell's solo track "Dance With The Devil", recorded live on American television in 1974) and in Binghamton in New York State, in 1974. The fifth CD contains a performance by the band Big Bertha, that is the earlier incarnation of Bedlam (without the vocalist Frank Aiello), from 3 December 1970, from Hamburg. The last disc of the set contains demo tracks and singles from 1968-1970, on which all the band's instrumentalists played, that is Cozy Powell and the brothers Dave and Denny Ball. The whole thing in a rigid box, with a 28-page booklet inside. Highly recommended! (MU) -

A rare, limited CD containing an 80-minute recording of a unique and at the same time very good concert by a heavily forgotten British heavy rock band (with only two singles to its name), with the young drummer Cozy Powell and the talented guitarist Dave Ball (later in Procol Harum). In 1973 the trio (with a vocalist added) turned into Bedlam. Big Bertha played classic, very heavy, heavily improvised rock in the vein of Led Zeppelin, Cream and Mountain. Fans of this kind of playing will be delighted! The sound quality is almost ideal - slightly better than on the earlier (double and unavailable for many years) edition of this title. The booklet contains several very rare photos of the band. Highly recommended! (JL) -

Released in 1970 in a strongly psychedelic sleeve, the only album by a great American band playing heavy, slightly bluesy guitar rock, inspired by the Jimi Hendrix Experience and in the vein of the first two Grand Funk albums, the debut of Bloodrock, or the records of the bands Josefus and Jamul. The original vinyl is worth 350-400 euros, so it is certainly worth investing in this CD! A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH - Live In Copenhagen 1971 - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A limited European CD, lasting 76 minutes, containing a concert from Copenhagen from April 1971 (47 minutes). In addition, an excellent 20-minute fragment of a performance from Sheffield, England, from January 1971 (alongside a very early version of the rare "Into The Void" with an early lyric, also containing the only known performance of "After Forever"), as well as an 11-minute "Wicked World" from Copenhagen from December 1970. Unlike several recordings from 1970, there is not a single great-sounding Sabbath concert from 1971, but Copenhagen without doubt sounds the best! The sound quality is really good! Not perfect, but for a 1971 'audience recording' - no complaints! A slightly worse-sounding and somewhat slowed-down version circulates on the internet. This one is much better (more treble) and with corrected speed! Highly recommended! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

Limited, cleaned-up and veeery good-sounding, mixing-desk-sourced 80-minute CD, containing the full, 65-minute performance recorded in April 1974 at the huge festival (known, among other things, for the Deep Purple performance), on the tour promoting the LP "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"! What is there to say... Ozzy was in form, the band played very precisely and improvised a great deal (especially in the fantastic "Instrumental Jam"), and the set of tracks - like a dream! Alongside the two killers from 1970 (Brussels and Montreux), the excellent performance from Asbury Park from 1975 (available on 2CD) and the catalogue "Live At Last" recorded in 1973, I find it hard to recall a better performance from the 70s! Simply in terms of sound quality it is top five! In addition three (unfortunately rather poorly recorded) tracks from this tour are included - including probably the only known performances of "A National Acrobat" and "Changes" - priceless!!! An absolute must! (JL) -

A European CD limited to 500 copies, containing an hour-long concert recorded in a small Scottish club by a later musician of the band Iron Claw. It is the earliest known show by the band, from 16 November 1969 - recorded exactly the day before the band entered the studio to create the debut album! Four tracks from this album ("Let Me Love You", "Early One Morning", "Song For Jim" and "Blue Blooded Men") did not appear on any record, while the classic "Warning" lasts 18 minutes here and contains an instrumental section not included on the studio record! The sound quality is really decent - much better than on YouTube. Not ideal, but for such a historic show by a then completely unknown band - it is hard to expect anything better! The tasteful booklet contains several very nice and very rare photos of the band, from 1969! A must! (JL) -

A rare, limited, Spanish 76-minute CD, containing a perfect-sounding (mixing desk) show, very popular among fans, recorded in August 1980 (with Ronnie James Dio on vocals) in Hartford in the USA, on the tour promoting the LP "Heaven And Hell". It was one of the last shows by the band with Bill Ward, who left 'overnight' two weeks later. Several tracks appeared on the long-deleted, double deluxe edition of "Heaven And Hell". The sound quality is almost perfect - 20% better than on YouTube! A MUST! (JL) -

Released in an attractive sleeve, limited to 500 copies, a European 80-minute CD containing a very early (recorded two months after the release of the debut), full Black Sabbath performance from Lausanne in Switzerland, professionally recorded by a club employee. The sound quality is great, though not ideal (with slight distortion here and there...). The biggest attraction of this CD is the ONLY KNOWN LIVE INTERPRETATION of the track "Sleeping Village" and a 32-minute version of the legendary "Warning". The disc also contains a superb cover of Eddie Boyd's "Blue Coat Men", played by the band at the time (in the style of very fast, early Ten Years After); an early version of "War Pigs" (with unfinished lyrics) and an early version of "Black Sabbath" extended by four minutes (with the legendary third verse). The quality of the remastered CD is much better than the muffled sound on YouTube. An absolute must! -

Brilliant, fan-club Spanish CD, containing a 43-minute recording of the fantastic concert that took place in August 1970 at the casino in Montreux - the same one immortalised by Deep Purple in "Smoke On The Water". The band was just about to release the LP "Paranoid", hence, as a result of Ozzy's amnesia, "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" had changed lyrics. The band was in excellent form, and the quality of the sound, taken from the mixing desk, is almost ideal! This is the best-sounding Sabbath performance recorded in 1970-1974 - even slightly clearer than the famous concert from Paris (and in fact from Brussels) from 1970 and the one from March 1973 released on the LP "Live At Last". That is worth appreciating! Besides, the disc contains over 35 minutes of additional material! Four tracks made for the BBC in April 1970 (including the three-minutes-longer than the original "Black Sabbath" - containing an additional, unknown third verse, then "Behind The Wall Of Sleep" with a great, heavy jazz rock ending and "War Pigs" with alternative lyrics - all with corrected speed, that is, slightly sped up), two tracks made in summer 1969 under the name Earth (including the excellent "I'm A Rebel") and finally the phenomenal version of "Blue Suede Shoes" recorded live in the studio by the Beat-Club crew. The CD has been adorned with several very nice photos from the earliest period. A must! (JL) -

A limited, great live CD from the Top Gear label, containing 80 minutes from the tour promoting the underrated (and very good) 1978 LP "Never Say Die"! Most of the recordings come from the performance in Pittsburgh recorded by American radio, but there are also two recordings from the Hammersmith in London. All the compositions have been joined into a single whole (without breaks) and almost the entire (apart from two fragments) set of recordings from this tour has been reproduced! The CD contains, among other things, a very rare version of "Shock Wave". Great sound quality! A must! (JL) -
