AVENGER (UK) (see also: Blitzkrieg / Satan) - AVENGER - Steel On Steel Complete Avenger Recordings (3CD BOX) - UK Dissonance Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
Avenger was founded by former members of the band Blitzkrieg. In 1982 their first demo track, "Hot 'N' Heavy Express", ended up on Neat Records' compilation "One Take No Dubs (Live In The Studio)". A year later, through the same label, the debut single "Too Wild To Tame" was released. Shortly after, the vocalist Brian Ross left for the band Satan, while Ian Swift went the other way and with him in the line-up Avenger released their debut LP, "Blood Sports", in 1984. The second album, "Killer Elite", came out a year later, and the band went on a tour of the USA. Unfortunately, right after it Avenger broke up. Ian Swift joined Atomkraft, and the drummer Gary Young joined the meanwhile reactivated Blitzkrieg. The band's music is classic, heavy, British hammering with occasional accelerations. CD1 is the debut album "Blood Sports" from 1984, CD2 - its successor "Killer Elite" from 1985, and CD3 contains tracks from the concert on 3 March 1986, at the L'Amour club in Brooklyn. Bonus tracks are added to both studio records. Highly recommended! -

BITCHES SIN - BITCHES SIN - Essential Sins - Your Place Or Mine 1981 DEMO plus... - UK Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A fantastic CD containing an excellent second demo from 1981; four tracks from the sessions for the debut LP "Predator" (in different versions - live from the studio) and several recordings from 1983-89. An excellent complement to the CD/LP "First Temptation" (with the first demo from 1980 and the 1981 BBC session). Bitches Sin was a fantastic band - unfortunately underrated because of the "Predator" LP (1982) mentioned earlier, which not everyone found entirely convincing... A must! -

BLITZKRIEG (see also: Satan / Avenger) - BLITZKRIEG - Inferno - Complete Recordings Vol 1: 1980-1998 (5CD BOX) - UK Hear No Evil Editionprice: 190,00 PLN 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A five-disc set being the first part of an anthology of the band responsible for probably the best single in the history of the NWOBHM - "Buried Alive / Blitzkrieg". The first CD contains the debut album "A Time Of Changes" from 1985, and as bonuses, the aforementioned single, the brilliant "Inferno" from the cult Neat Records compilation "Lead Weight" and three demo tracks from 1980. CD2 is a concert from 1981 once released only on cassette - "Blitzed Alive!" - and nine tracks from various sessions from 1980-1981. The last three discs are studio albums: "Unholy Trinity" from 1995 (which includes a cover of Venom's "Countess Bathory" recorded with Cronos), "Ten" from 1996 and "Mists Of Avalon" from 1998. CHASAR - CHASAR - Gypsy Roller +4 - EU Eclipse Remastered Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
For the first time on CD! Released in 1983 at the band's own expense (and reissued in 1985 by the Belgian Mausoleum), the sole album by an excellent, heavy-progressive British NWOBHM band, referring to the work of Black Sabbath with Dio and early Rush. In addition four recordings for the BBC, from 1982. Very good production! Highly recommended! (JL) -

DEF LEPPARD - DEF LEPPARD - First Strikes 1978-1979 - FRA On The Air - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A superb, tastefully presented, though unofficial, limited compilation gathering probably all the most important recordings made by the band before the release of the first album ("On Through The Night" from March 1980) and never officially released on CD! In order: the first, legendary EP "Def Leppard" from January 1979 - regarded as the first record of the NWOBHM movement, the LP "First Strike", released in 1984 but withdrawn on the spot (containing seven demo tracks from 1979), a fantastic, 30-minute recording of a concert from the BBC archives from August 1979 (they never played as well as then) and three tracks, or early versions, from rare, very early singles. The covers of these releases are inside the booklet. So it is 80 minutes of dynamic, melodic playing for two lead guitars in the style of 'Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash and Tygers Of Pan Tang in one' - what is more with sound of excellent quality. An absolute must! -
CD

The second and at the same time last album containing classic, typically British playing. And although the band gained worldwide popularity only with its third record (the LP "Pyromania" from 1983) - it is precisely the first two that determine the greatness of Def Leppard. Remastered 2019 edition. -

ELIXIR (see also: Iron Maiden) - ELIXIR – The Son of Odin (2CD) +11 - High Roller Records Editionprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
A classic of British metal - now in an anniversary, two-disc edition. Solid, guitar-driven, juicy playing in the old style - with light elements of progression. CD1 contains the original, nine-track album The Son of Odin, while the second disc has bonus recordings: 11 tracks, including four from the BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show session from 1986, material from the single Treachery (Ride Like the Wind) from 1985, demo recordings from 1984 and 1985 and "Chariot of the Gods" from the album sessions. The vinyl version of Elixir's debut record is already a sought-after rarity; on CD, however, metal fans can invest blind! Recommended! -

GIRLSCHOOL (see also: Motorhead) - GIRLSCHOOL - Bronze Years 1980-1983: Demolition / Hit And Run / Screaming Blue Murder / Play Dirty - UK Lemon Remastered (4CD BOX) - LISTENprice: 160,00 PLN / 40,00 EUR
Sensational! Four-disc box set from the British label Lemon containing, made for Bronze Records, the first four albums by the best all-female formation in the history of rock! The LP "Demolition", released in 1980, and the next one, "Hit & Run" (1981), are absolute classics of the NWOBHM genre - very energetic, juicy and at the same time melodic playing, somewhat reminiscent of a slightly softened version of Motorhead's "Ace Of Spades"! These are albums I have listened to regularly since I was 15! The next two records maintained a high level, but compared with their predecessors were already slightly weaker ("Screaming Blue Murder" from 1982 - still very heavy, metal, and the Slade-produced LP "Play Dirty" from 1983 - already somewhat mellowed, more geared towards the American market). In addition twelve great bonus tracks from singles are included, among them my favourite, the sensational live "Demolition Boys"! Please have a look at the old video for the track "C'mon Let's Go" or the duet performance with Motorhead... A must! (JL) -
CD

CD
GIRLSCHOOL (see also: Motorhead) - GIRLSCHOOL - Singles - 1978-1988 (2CD) - UK Lemon Remastered Editionprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR
I will always have great sentiment for the early work of this best female band in the history of rock! Two-disc, British edition collecting all the band's singles. The first CD from the period of the LP "Demolition" and "Hit & Run". Rocking and very juicy playing reminiscent a little of a somewhat softened version of Motorhead's "Ace Of Spades"! The first single had not appeared before on any of the group's records! Additionally two unreleased demo recordings from 1978! (JL) -

CD
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Live At Hammersmith Odeon, London, May 1983 2CD - Full Concert - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A tastefully released, limited, European double CD containing a 115-minute performance (recorded from the audience, but in really very good sound quality) that took place in the temple of metal of the day, that is London's Hammersmith Odeon in May 1983, during the tour promoting the just-released, fourth LP in the band's discography, 'Piece Of Mind'. A big plus of this concert is the splendid, truly unique set of tracks, including 'Piece Of Mind' played almost in its entirety! The cover features a classic design by Derek Riggs - the band's then house cover artist - borrowed from the front of the official 1983 tour programme! Once again: the sound quality is almost great (a little muffled but beating hands down the recordings available now) and all the instruments and the vocal can be heard very well! Besides, there DOES NOT EXIST a better recording of a full concert by the band from that tour! It is certainly a huge treat for fans of old Maiden and the NWOBHM! A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. CD
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Live In Nijmegen, Netherlands, April 1981 - Full Concert - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A tastefully released, limited, European CD containing a 78-minute recording of a radio-broadcast performance that took place in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, in April 1981, during the tour promoting the band's second LP 'Killers'. Until now this performance had been available in a cut, 48-minute version, but recently the complete radio broadcast was found! NOTE! The cover features an unpublished 1981 design by Derek Riggs - the band's then house cover artist! The sound quality is almost perfect - even better, fuller-sounding (more treble) than on the YouTube version! It is certainly a huge treat for fans of old Maiden and the NWOBHM! A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
CD
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Live At Beat-Club Germany 1981 - Complete Show - EU Supernaut LIMITED Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A limited, fan-club CD containing the full (for the first time in history) show from the cult programme Beat-Club, where in January 1981 (2 weeks before the release of the LP "Killers") the band (still with vocalist Paul Di'Anno) played an hour-long set containing, among other things, the whole debut (except "Strange World") and several new tracks from the second record. Until now a decent, 30-minute version taken from a VHS copied 37 years ago from German television had been circulating on the market... and here it suddenly turned out that the band had played for an hour and the TV station decided to make the digital version of the show public on the internet... The sound quality is sensational - as is the form of the young band, then still hungry for fame and fortune! A MUST! (JL) -
CD
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Live In New York 1982 - SPA Top Gear Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This is live material, well known among fans, recorded in June 1982, during the tour promoting the LP "Number Of The Beast". The concert was broadcast on the radio and released in a minimal run on a promotional, two-disc vinyl worth hundreds of dollars today. This Spanish, limited CD contains the full, 63-minute broadcast in unusually clean sound quality and with professional links between the tracks. The band was in excellent form, and on drums played the sorely missed Clive Burr, who himself gave Maiden an additional 20-30% of excellence. In addition two tracks ("Sanctuary" and "Drifter") recorded in 1980 at the London club Marquee and released only on the rare Japanese maxi "Live + One" (together with the well-known "Phantom Of The Opera") are included. As far as I know, these two tracks have never come out on an official CD! So this is absolutely classic Maiden from the best period and in better quality than the catalogue "Live After Death" (two years later)! The CD has been adorned with nice photos taken mainly from the rare, official concert programme. A must! -
CD
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Maiden Tokyo 1981 - Top Quality Soundboard Recording - SPA Top Gear Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
In my opinion this is the best concert of Iron Maiden's career! I am from the old school, which values Paul Di'Anno more than Bruce Dickinson, and the first two albums will never be beaten by later titles... The CD, limited to 500 copies, contains a recording of the full performance that took place in Tokyo in May 1981 during the tour promoting the band's second LP, "Killers". During this short, Japanese tour Japanese EMI recorded several concerts (the band played 2 shows a day), of which only this Tokyo (evening) one fortunately reached fans a few years ago (what is more in EXCELLENT QUALITY), professionally mixed and... as if ready for release! Only in 2-3 announcements can you hear slight hiss, mild interference. And since only 5 tracks from the concert in Nagoya (recorded the day before) appeared in summer 1981 on the official maxi single 'Maiden Japan' (EMI) - it is certainly a great treat for fans of old Maiden and the NWOBHM!. So this 80-minute, slightly improved (compared with the earlier version) CD contains very dynamic, yet spacious performances of almost all the tracks from the first two Iron Maiden albums and as a bonus - an excellent Prowler (from the afternoon performance) - unfortunately here in average quality - recorded by someone from the audience. The CD has been adorned with a very rare cover (rejected by EMI as too drastic) showing Eddie holding a severed head... of Paul Di' Anno (who had just left the band) - known only from the Venezuelan edition of 'Maiden Japan' from 1987, worth 600-700 dollars...! Besides that, the booklet contains several nice photos from the Japanese tour. It is an excellent complement to the CD 'Live In New York 1982' released earlier by the Spaniards! An absolute must! (JL) -
CD
IRON MAIDEN - IRON MAIDEN - Live At The Rainbow December 1980 - The Complete Show - SPA Top Gear Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A CD limited to 500 copies contains a recording of the full 80-minute performance that took place at the Rainbow Theatre in London in December 1980 - two months before the release of the second LP, "Killers". The band (still with Paul Di'Anno on vocals) recorded a classic, 30-minute, stunning video at the time (with an identical cover to this CD), but the audio material never appeared on an official release. The disc contains the full performance (recorded by a fan on very decent equipment) together with the original versions of two tracks which on the official VHS were specially repeated, because the band made several mistakes! Fans know what I mean... The sound quality is really very good, and what a superb cover! It is a great treat for every fan of the band and of classic metal! A must! (JL)
