Avenger was founded by former members of the band Blitzkrieg. In 1982 their first demo track, "Hot 'N' Heavy Express", ended up on Neat Records' compilation "One Take No Dubs (Live In The Studio)". A year later, through the same label, the debut single "Too Wild To Tame" was released. Shortly after, the vocalist Brian Ross left for the band Satan, while Ian Swift went the other way and with him in the line-up Avenger released their debut LP, "Blood Sports", in 1984. The second album, "Killer Elite", came out a year later, and the band went on a tour of the USA. Unfortunately, right after it Avenger broke up. Ian Swift joined Atomkraft, and the drummer Gary Young joined the meanwhile reactivated Blitzkrieg. The band's music is classic, heavy, British hammering with occasional accelerations. CD1 is the debut album "Blood Sports" from 1984, CD2 - its successor "Killer Elite" from 1985, and CD3 contains tracks from the concert on 3 March 1986, at the L'Amour club in Brooklyn. Bonus tracks are added to both studio records. Highly recommended!
