CHICAGO - CHICAGO - Live At Tanglewood 1970 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Nowadays, for the average rock lover the group Chicago is a synonym for tackiness and pop commercialism. However, it is worth remembering that in 1969-1973 the band played first-rate, progressive jazz rock and few groups of the time could equal them in musicianship or (admirable) arrangements. It is also worth noting that many of the little-known British progressive formations so adored by fans drew their inspiration precisely from Chicago (e.g. Aquila, Raw Material, Heaven, Galliard). The concert organised by Bill Graham at Tanglewood took place in June 1970 - at the time when the band was recording its third album. In any case, this 80-minute, perfect-sounding CD contains only tracks from the first two albums and one from the 'third'. This is top-shelf rock material! A must! -
CHICAGO - CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY - Chicago Transit Authority - EU Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The first, by far the best (read: the most rock, progressive) album in the long career of this American jazz-rock band (released still under the original name, Chicago Transit Authority), which inspired quite a few British progressive bands, such as Hannibal, Heaven, Brainchild and Walrus. The CD includes "I'm A Man" and the extended, guitar-improvisation-filled "Liberation". Two LPs on one CD. Remastered edition. A MUST! (JL) -
CHICAGO - Chicago – Live 1971 (John F. Kennedy Center) (4LP BOX) - Rhino Entertaiment Editionprice: 350,00 PLN / 87,50 EUR
A four-record box set containing the Chicago concert that took place in September 1971 in Washington during the promotional tour for their third record, although the band was just working on the fifth (fourth studio) album. Importantly, it is a recording of the whole performance, without cuts, spread over 4 vinyls. Live 1971 shows Chicago at their absolute best – as a live band, and it is not merely a re-creation of the studio versions, but full-fledged, live reinterpretations of the pieces, including the first live performance of "Saturday in the Park". -
CHICKEN BONES - CHICKEN BONES - Hard Rock In Concert - GER Long Hair - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
A German band playing in the tradition of the very beginning of the 70s with plenty of red-hot guitar sounds! This is a great album (reminiscent a little of the Dutch Cargo), and what is more it sounds as if it was made in 1971-72. -
CHICKEN SHACK (see also: Broken Glass / Savoy Brown) - CHICKEN SHACK - Imagination Lady - EU Ethelion Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A long-awaited, vinyl, excellent-sounding reissue in a gatefold sleeve! Released by Deram at the very end of 1971, this album is an excellent, heavy blues-rock album - without a doubt one of the best records of this kind from the early 70s and at the same time the nicest achievement of this cult band! Recorded in a completely changed line-up (only the leader, the guitarist Stan Webb, remained, accompanied by the bassist John Glascock of The Gods/Toe Fat and the drummer Paul Hancox, who played two bass drums), the longplayer, unlike the first, strictly blues records, contained heavy, heavy-rock playing based on Webb's great, at moments almost Hendrix-like playing, combined with very early Led Zeppelin! It is simply a 'hard-hitting' album that should find its place in every self-respecting heavy rock collection! Condition: new, sealed. A MUST! -
CHICKEN SHACK (see also: Broken Glass / Savoy Brown) - CHICKEN SHACK - Goodbye - Live 1973 - UK Esoteric Remasteredprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
Recorded with a changed line-up but still containing a sizeable dose of classic heavy blues rock, a live album recorded in October 1973. In its day the album came out only in Germany (on the label Nova) in February 1974, when the band had in fact ceased to exist and Stan Webb was already a member of Savoy Brown... -

The first album released (only in Germany and France) by Stan Webb's band after four years of non-existence. A very impressive line-up - the musicians had previously been associated with Bronko, Babe Ruth, If, Spring and Family. -
CHICO MAGNETIC BAND - CHICO MAGNETIC BAND - Chico Magnetic Band +5 - FRA Absinthe Expanded Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A vinyl edition limited to 500 copies of the sole sensational album, released in 1971, by a forgotten French band, combining wacky psychedelic rock with Hendrix-style guitar and a stylish vocal à la Jimi. Fortunately it was not simple copying, but quite original, strongly swaying, sharp, at times downright wild playing - full of experiments with sound. Now worth nearly 1000 euros (in Near Mint condition), the album decidedly sounded more like 1969 than 1971. This version contains five additional recordings from rare singles. The sound quality is excellent! Highly recommended! (JL) -

CHIMERA (see also: Pink Floyd / Ashkan) - Chimera - UK Wooden Hill - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Half produced by Nick Mason (the Pink Floyd drummer appeared on one track, and keyboardist Rick Wright on 5), this folk-psych-rock album, unreleased in its day (planned by the label Morgan Blue Town for mid-1970 and put out by Tenth Planet in 2002), without a doubt deserves special attention! Alongside two female vocalists the band featured Bob Weston (ex-Black Cat Bones and Ashkan) and bassist Nick South (ex-Second Hand). The result is quite a varied album that will appeal both to fans of folky, baroque sounds in the vein of Pentangle and Donovan, and to fans of decidedly progressive, heavy-bluesy moods (almost without the blues...). It is a pity I did not come across this material while writing the book Brytyjski Rock... Plus 8 demo tracks. Highly recommended! -
CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND - CHOCOLATE WATCH BAND - Inner Mystique / One Step Beyond - UK Big Beat Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR

CHRISTIE - CHRISTIE - Christie (Yellow River) +8 - GER Repertoire Expanded Digipack Editionprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The same material as on the old Polish vinyl record from Muza - of course together with "Yellow River" and "San Bernardino". Classic, ambitious pop-rock from 1970, at times close to the style of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Digipak edition, with eight bonus tracks. -
CHRISTIE - CHRISTIE - For All Mankind +8 - GER Repertoire Expanded Digipack Editionprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The group's second, somewhat more hard-rock and completely underrated album, from 1971. Eight bonuses. -
CHRISTMAS - CHRISTMAS - Heritage - CAN Unidisc Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
One of my favourite and most often played albums! Top three of the best records in the history of Canadian rock - and what is more, recorded by a few 18-year-olds! It is hard to define this music unequivocally - it is supposedly hard-rock, but... a psychedelic kind. Many changes of rhythm and mood; charming, somewhat Beatles-like melodies. Two improvised, guitar tracks run for over 10 minutes. A must! -
CHRISTMAS - CHRISTMAS - Live At Massey Hall - CAN Unidisc Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
A recording of a 1971 concert - on CD for the first time. Originally this material appeared on LP only in 1990 (previously only on cassette). The CD contains only four tracks, one of which (lasting nearly 20 minutes) is a premiere. The sound quality is very good! Highly recommended! -
