Eric Clapton – Life in 12 Bars (2CD) - EU Press - UNIKALNY CD

This is not an ordinary "greatest hits" compilation, but a well-thought-out cross-section of Eric Clapton's whole career – from his earliest recordings to later, more reflective pieces. The album is the soundtrack to the documentary about Clapton of the same title - and that is exactly how it sounds: like a musical biography. The first disc focuses on the roots – raw, electric blues and the British scene of the 60s. You can hear the young Clapton in full-energy form here: sharp riffs, inspirations from Muddy Waters and a pure, unpolished style. Recordings with The Yardbirds or John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers show how quickly he was growing into one of the most important guitarists of his era. The second disc is a more mature Clapton – more emotion, more space and a more personal tone. Classics appear from Derek and the Dominos and solo recordings, including "Tears in Heaven".
