BLUE OYSTER CULT (see also: Stalk-Forrest Group) - BLUE OYSTER CULT - On Your Feet Or On Your Knees - US Edition - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A CD containing material from the sensational, double (on vinyl), live album summing up the first and best period of the band's work. Plenty of somewhat heavy, guitar-driven, at moments even progressive playing with blues/boogie influences. A MUST! -
BLUE OYSTER CULT (see also: Stalk-Forrest Group) - BLUE OYSTER CULT - Secret Treaties +5 - EU Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
The great third album by the Americans combined somewhat heavy guitar rock with elements of psychedelia and sci-fi. The album includes the excellent "Subhuman", "Career Of Evil" and "Astronomy", the last of which is known from Metallica's cover. This LP (and the excellent double live album released soon after, from 1975) closed the earliest and darkest period of the band's work. Remastered edition with five bonus tracks. Highly recommended! BLUE OYSTER CULT (see also: Stalk-Forrest Group) - BLUE OYSTER CULT - Tyranny And Mutation +4 - EU Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A remastered edition, expanded with four tracks, of the great second album by Americans completely unknown in our country. An original, though hard to get into, combination of heavy rock, a pinch of psychedelia and even glam. Highly recommended! (JL) -
BLUES CREATION (see also: Creation / Dew / Carmen Maki & Oz) - BLUES CREATION - Demon & Eleven Children +1 - EU Once Again Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A revelation! Released in the summer of 1971, the second album by this great Japanese band is a splendid combination of the style of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, at times pushed almost to the extreme - with elements of two lead guitars in the style of Wishbone Ash! Plenty of surprising, ultra-heavy riffs, plenty of changes of tempo and mood, exemplary, slightly bluesy playing by the guitarist and zero filler. The only, small flaw of this sensational album was the vocalist's not entirely convincing English... But who really cares? Alongside the first two records by Flower Travellin' Band, this is probably the most cult album in the history of Japanese heavy rock, and in the original on the Denon label (and in almost perfect condition) it is currently worth 1000 dollars! Additionally included is an 8-minute live version of "Nightmare" (different from the one on the CD "Live!"), previously unreleased on CD! A must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
BLUES CREATION (see also: Creation / Dew / Carmen Maki & Oz) - BLUES CREATION - Live! 1971 (+2) - EU Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The live album recorded in 1971 had a somewhat more bluesy character than the LP "Demon...", although the band played even these well-known standards in their own way - very heavily and intensely - with countless extended improvisations. To tell the truth, I cannot recall any Anglo-American band that played so juicily and so mightily live! Compared with the old Japanese CD this edition has two more tracks - from the same concert! 74 minutes in total! Excellent sound quality. A must! -
BLUES CREATION (see also: Creation / Dew / Carmen Maki & Oz) - BLUES CREATION - Live 1971 (2LP) - FRA Absinthe Expanded Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
Recorded in 1971 (unfortunately not released on vinyl in its day - only on CD in 1998), the live album was in the same, very intense heavy blues rock style (Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and the Allman Brothers Band in one) as the brilliant studio albums "Demon And Eleven Children" and "Carmen Maki + Blues Creation" (both from 1971). Besides that the band presented several blues standards, serving merely as a pretext for heavy, dynamic, guitar-driven improvisations based on the mighty playing of the rhythm section. To tell the truth, I do not recall any Anglo-American formation that played so juicily and so uncompromisingly live! Compared with the Japanese CD this edition has three more tracks (one more than the European CD from the same concert) and - attention! - a different version, recorded a week later, of the track "Nightmare", unreleased on any LP. Excellent sound quality. A must! -
BLUES IMAGE (see also: Iron Butterfly) - BLUES IMAGE - Open - EU Music On CD Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The second album by a hard blues-rock band (with Latin music influences) from the States, with Mike Pinera (later in Iron Butterfly) on guitar. Nice, guitar-driven playing reminiscent of Iron Butterfly with elements of early Santana. In the States it was a very popular album! 2024 reissue. Recommended! (JL) -
BLUES IMAGE (see also: Iron Butterfly) - BLUES IMAGE - Blues Image / Red White & Blues Image - EU Music On CD Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Two LPs on one CD. A great, blues-psychedelic debut (with light Latin influences) with the dominant sound of organ and the sharp guitar of Mike Pinera (later in Iron Butterfly). The third album was much weaker, more Latin and lighter, though it had some nice moments. Recommended! -

A very good only album, released in its day in just 500 copies, by an Italian formation performing progressive, bluesy rock with flute. The whole resembles a cross between John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Blodwyn Pig, Cream and early Jethro Tull. A very good record. Recommended. (K) -

BOBAK JONS MALONE (see also: Orange Bicycle) - BOBAK, JONS, MALONE - Motherlight - UK Morgan Blue Town Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
Released in early 1969, a superb, at times quite wild (though usually melodic) British psychedelic LP inspired by The Beatles and Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett. Bobak, Jons, Malone are a trio of three producers/sound engineers working at the London studio of the Morgan Blue Town record label. At the same time as this album, an equally unpopular LP by the band Pussy was released! The original "Motherlight" vinyl is worth nearly 2000 pounds! 2017 reissue. A MUST! (JL) -

BODKIN - BODKIN - Bodkin - ITA Akarma Press - LISTENprice: 220,00 PLN / 55,00 EUR
Italian Akarma edition, in a cardboard sleeve slipped into a further multi-fold envelope in the form of a huge cross. Bodkin is a completely unknown, Scottish band which in 1971 recorded at its own expense a great album, based on the heavy sound of guitars and ubiquitous Hammond. The whole thing resembles a little Deep Purple and above all the little-known but great Writing On The Wall.
