This is a rock classic! -

ANALOGUE SOUND! Super rare (especially complete - with obi strip and in perfect condition) first Japanese pressing from 1977 of the second album by a very underrated great hard rock formation, almost unknown outside Japan. The members of Metallica were big fans of the early Bow Wow records and one of the tracks (Silver Lightning) was seriously considered for a Metallica cover! To tell the truth, listening to this 40-minute, very competently produced and genuinely superb album it is hard to believe that it was made in the 70s! Among the ten compositions the musicians offered an atmospheric intro, a harmless ballad and eight more or less hard rock-metal numbers filled to the brim with guitar jams. The only thing that was not very thrilling was the rather average, though definitely acceptable, English vocals delivered with a Japanese manner. Complete with obi strip and a lyric insert. It is the least known and certainly the most interesting album in the artist's discography. Esoteric edition of the debut album by a British supergroup founded by vocalist Mike Patto (ex-Patto, Spooky Tooth), superb guitarist Ollie Halsall (ex-Patto, Tempest), bassist Keith Ellis (ex-Van der Graaf Generator, Juicy Lucy) and drummer Tony Newman (ex-Jeff Beck Group, May Blitz). The record is filled with subdued, mid-tempo tracks and quite dynamic, guitar-driven pieces based mainly on Halsall's great playing. All in all it is easy to treat this album as the 'fourth Patto LP'! -

Remastered, British edition of the debut solo album by the great guitarist and leader of the jazz-rock Isotope. Gary Boyle was at one time a very highly regarded British musician, collaborating with and playing on records by, among others, Brian Auger and Stomu Yamashta. Released in 1977, "The Dancer" was inevitably in the style of the recordings of the guitarist's parent formation, that is, generally it is superbly played and produced, largely instrumental jazz-rock, close to the style of the records of Soft Machine and Gilgamesh of the time. On CD for the first time! Second album by an excellent Dutch formation, earlier led by two later Focus musicians. How little known the LP "Parts", released in 1972 (by EMI Harvest), is can be shown by the fact that in the cult and much sought-after book "Scented Gardens Of The Mind" (devoted to the European progressive scene of the 70s) the author listed this catalogue record as... a compilation! So it is worth pointing out that it is completely brand new, rock, decidedly guitar-driven playing (with two ballads) close to the style of such groups as Wishbone Ash, the Dutch Cargo and Livin' Blues - with a touch of the then so popular Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Despite two weaker passages it is a really great, very varied record that will certainly satisfy 80-90% of fans of old playing! In addition several rare tracks from singles (not included among the bonus tracks to the debut) and a live number from the super rare, compilation (vinyl) soundtrack to the film 'Paradiso' (1971) are included. Highly recommended! -

Musically it is a combination of the psychedelic playing from the first album, the classic blues-rock known from the band's later records, and at times you can even hear slight influences of Led Zeppelin and jazz.
