KALEIDOSCOPE (UK) (see also: Fairfield Parlour) - KALEIDOSCOPE - White-Faced Lady (1971 Album) - GER Repertoire Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
This is one of the most important reissues from Repertoire Records! This CD, released in a digipak, contains an excellent double album recorded in 1971 but not released until 1991 (the fourth in the discography - counting the LP "From Home To Home", released in 1970 under the name Fairfield Parlour), containing the best of Kaleidoscope's pop-psychedelic music - here combined with ambitious, melodic progressive rock of the early 70s! The band put all their money into this record, after which no major label wanted to release it, and as a result it all ended in bankruptcy and the break-up of the group... The music is wonderful and nearly perfect (though the melodramatic cover may put some people off...) and should appeal to every fan of 'psych' and 'prog'. Incidentally, this title, running to over 70 minutes, had been waiting years for a proper edition! An absolute must! (JL) -
KALEIDOSCOPE (USA) - KALEIDOSCOPE - Pulsating Dreams - 4 Epic Albums (1967-70) (3CD) - UK Floating World Edition - LISTENprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR
A beautifully produced anthology of all four albums ("Side Trips" from 1967, "Beacon From Mars" from 1968, "Incredible" from 1969 and "Bernice" from 1970) by a legend of American psychedelic rock, with strong folk and Oriental (mainly Turkish) influences. Plenty of trance-like, improvised, very psychedelic playing (several tracks of 10-12 minutes) and shorter, concise compositions brushing against blues and country-folk. 45 tracks. Edition in a traditional jewel case. A must! -
KALEVALA - KALEVALA - People No Names / Boogie Jungle (1972-75) - EU Walhalla Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Another excellent band from Scandinavia - this time from Finland. The first, superb, decidedly progressive album from 1972 was based on heavy guitar riffs, a slightly bluesy mood and strong vocals. Something in the vein of Culpeper's Orchard and Wishbone Ash. You listen to this in one breath! For me this record is top ten (perhaps top five...) of Scandinavian rock! The second record on this single CD ("Boogie Jungle") was in a much lighter vein. Highly recommended! (JL) -
KALEVALA - KALEVALA - People No Names - 50th Anniversary Edition - FIN Svart Remastered Limited Pressprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
The first, superb, decidedly progressive album by a Finnish band, based on heavy guitar riffs, a slightly bluesy mood and strong vocals. Something in the vein of Culpeper's Orchard and Wishbone Ash. You listen to this in one breath! For me this record is top ten (or perhaps even top five...) of Scandinavian rock! Limited, remastered anniversary edition. A must! (JL) -

The first, exquisite, decidedly progressive album by the Finnish band, based on heavy guitar riffs, a slightly bluesy feel and a powerful vocal. Something in the vein of Culpeper's Orchard and Wishbone Ash. You listen to this in one breath! For me this record is in the top ten (or maybe even the top five...) of Scandinavian rock! A remastered anniversary edition in a digipak. A must! (JL) -

KANSAS - KANSAS - Six For The Stage - Rare Live Recordings 1975-1978 (2LP) - FRA Verne Limited Press - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A limited, 102-minute double album, released by Verne Records in a beautiful, laminated sleeve with nice photos. In the second half of the 70s Kansas was (in my opinion) the best American band of the heavyish progressive rock circle and at the same time a mega-star filling stadiums. This is an alternative set of recordings to the classic, also double LP "Two For The Show" from 1978, but in my opinion even better, because more progressive (containing much longer tracks)! This fantastic and great-sounding album contains classic material recorded in 1975–1978 (in the period of such albums as "Masque", "Leftoverture" and "Point Of Know Return"), intended for "Two For The Show", but ultimately left off the vinyl edition. Most of the recordings from "Six To The Stage" were released earlier on the second disc of the expanded 2CD "Two For The Show - 30th Anniversary Edition". The pressing and sound quality is simply ideal! A must! Condition: NEW, sealed. -

KANSAS - KANSAS - Live In New York 1980 - FRA On The Air Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This 80-minute, unofficial live album was made during the last tour with vocalist Steve Walsh, promoting the LP "Audio-Visions". The excellent-sounding and perfectly produced material was officially released in the States at the beginning of 1981, in the radio promo series "A Night On The Road" (in a run of 100 copies) and is today very sought after by collectors. Without a doubt it is an excellent complement to the classic "Two For The Show" from 1978, as very few tracks are duplicated! It may be worth recalling that in the second half of the 70s Kansas were among the top five most popular progressive formations in the world! Highly recommended! (JL) -
KANSAS - KANSAS - Monolith - EU Music On CD Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
The sixth, still decidedly progressive, studio album, from 1979. -
KANSAS - KANSAS - Two For The Show - Live (2CD) - US Expanded Digipack Editionprice: 130,00 PLN / 32,50 EUR
Double, American edition in a digipak of a great live album recorded during the tours for the LPs "Leftoverture" and "Point Of Know Return". Without a doubt it is one of literally a few best "live albums" of the late 70s (alongside the albums of Thin Lizzy, UFO, Genesis, Rush). The second disc, running for as much as 75 minutes, includes the hitherto missing "Closet Chronicles" and compositions that did not appear on the original edition. And this second CD is about twice as good (more progressive) as the catalogue album!!! Please check the track listing! A must! -
KANSAS - Ultimate Kansas (1974-1979)(2CD)price: 95,00 PLN / 23,75 EUR
A very apt selection of 26 remastered tracks (from 1974-82) by the best American progressive band of all time. Nearly 90% of the material comes from the classic, earliest five albums. -
KANTNER, PAUL & SLICK, GRACE (see also: Jefferson Airplane) - KANTNER, SLICK & FREIBERG - Baron von Tollbooth & The Chrome Num - UK BGO - LISTENprice: 75,00 PLN 65,00 PLN / 16,25 EUR
Released in 1973, the third part of the so-called space trilogy. Besides the core of Paul Kantner, Grace Slick and David Freiberg, other members of Jefferson Airplane also took part in the recording: John Barbata, Jack Casady, Papa John Creach and Jorma Kaukonen, as well as David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart, the group Pointer Sisters and Craig Chaquico (the future guitarist of Jefferson Starship). REVIEW FROM THE INTERNET: 'Baron von Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun' is a very mature well produced yet a daring album that continues the Kantner space theme. Sharing the bill with Kantner and Slick is old folkie friend David Freiberg. They are joined by a group that reads like a who's who of the San Francisco psychedelic scene: drummers John Barbata (formerly of CSN&Y) and Mickey Hart (loaned out from the Grateful Dead), Jorma Kaukonen, legendary bassist Jack Casady, violinist Papa John Creech, the Pointer Sisters, David Crosby, Jack Traylor (a fellow psychedelic space rocker) and even Jerry Garcia himself. The entire album has a polished sound that has somewhat mystical theme layered on top of Kantner's visions of life in space. -
KARTHAGO (GER) - KARTHAGO – Rock ’n’ Roll Testament - MIG Digipak Remastered Editionprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
The band's third studio album, from 1974, which musically can be placed alongside Nektar, Birth Control and Frumpy, but Karthago makes greater use of funk, soul and Latin rhythms. In the guitar parts you can hear the weight of hard rock associated with Deep Purple, while Ingo Bischof's extended keyboards bring to mind at times Uriah Heep and the progressive scene of the early 70s. -
KARTHAGO (GER) - KARTHAGO – Live At The Roxy (2CD) - MIG Remastered Editionprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Karthago is a German rock band founded in 1971 in West Berlin, in whose music one can look for comparisons above all to Nektar, Birth Control, Guru Guru and at times Frumpy. In the heavier passages one can also hear the influence of Deep Purple, while the extended instrumental and keyboard parts may bring to mind Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Uriah Heep. The album originally came out in 1976 on Bacillus/Bellaphon as a double LP. This MIG edition contains the full material from the live album, the recordings were made in Hamburg and at the "Roxy Palast" in Berlin; the material has been digitally remastered.
