Remastered edition of the excellent debut album by this, all in all, underrated British band. Juicy Lucy played a hard-to-define combination of heavy rock, blues and jazz - with great, almost manic slide guitar parts by Glenn Campbell (known from Misunderstood), the vocals of Ray Owen (who later formed his own power trio with the drummer of Andromeda) and the saxophone of Chris Mercer (ex-Bluesbreakers). In addition, the band included, among others, the bassist from the Van Der Graaf Generator debut. Plus one single bonus track from 1970. Highly recommended! -

An excellent debut album by this ultimately underrated British band. Juicy Lucy played a hard-to-define combination of heavy rock, blues and jazz - with great, almost manic slide guitar parts by Glenn Campbell (known from Misunderstood), vocals by Ray Owen (who later founded his own power trio with the drummer from Andromeda) and saxophone by Chris Mercer (ex-Bluesbreakers). The band also included, among others, the bassist from the Van Der Graaf Generator debut. Numbered edition limited to 750 copies on yellow vinyl, in a gatefold sleeve. Highly recommended! -

This album, released at the beginning of 1972 (by RCA), belongs to the classics of American heavy rock (with slight references to blues, but without keyboards) - alongside, among others, records by Bloodrock, Bang, Highway Robbery, Bull Angus or Jump. Recorded entirely live (in the studio - for a small, invited audience), the album resembled the output of Led Zeppelin, Free and Humble Pie at their best. A classic! Highly recommended! -

A six-disc box set comprising newly remastered versions of the first album, in both mono and stereo (the latter previously available only on the original American release from 1968), as well as various single tracks. On the third CD "Second Of July", a collection of demos from before the album, which appeared in the mid-nineties. The rest of the set consists of newer recordings, made after their reunion a few years ago: CD 4 is the interrupted album "Temporal Anomaly", which was recorded around 2010 but has only now received its first release, CD 5 is "Resurrection", released in a limited edition in 2013, and CD 6 contains "Wight Album", created over the last few years by Tom Newman and Peter Cook in a recording studio on the Isle of Wight. Inside is a 40-page booklet. -

This album, released in 1971 by Sonet Records (on double vinyl), is the best progressive TITLE from Norway, and also belongs in the TOP 5 of Scandinavian classic rock! Attention! This CD, of over an hour, contains superb, cool (but romantic) and very precise playing (with Hammond and occasional flute) typical of groups from Scandinavia and Germany (such as Aunt Mary, Murphy Blend or Out Of Focus). The last part of the record is filled by the 26-minute title suite! Excellent sound quality! A curiosity: the label did not want to agree to produce an expensive, two-disc album by an unknown group, so the band paid for the pressing of... the second vinyl and as a result had to pay extra for the 'business'. Hence the original, vinyl edition (worth nearly 1000 euros in great condition) contains one rather heavy vinyl and one very thin one... AN ABSOLUTE MUST! -

A European edition of the sole album, released in January 1971, by an Australian quartet and one of the 4-5 best rock albums from the land of the kangaroos! The band referred to the tradition of the 'power trio' in the style of Cream (the vocalist sounds almost identical to Jack Bruce), but instead of copying - they played their own thing - progressively, very melodically and at the same time with great dynamics. There is not a single average track on this excellent album! Two musicians had previously played in the sensational Tamam Shud, while the bassist was Bob Daisley, known from the records of Chicken Shack, Rainbow, Uriah Heep and Ozzy Osbourne! This is such good playing that it is hard to believe! The sole album by Kahvas Jute is among the greatest Australian rarities and in great condition easily fetches 1000 euros! In addition, four superb tracks from a 2005 concert (they sound like old ones) and two unreleased old numbers from TV. Note! This version, sonically, knocks all the earlier editions flat - including the Australian (slightly overdriven and rather hissy) expensive Aztec Music CD. An absolute must! -

The only, but almost perfect, album by an American psychedelic formation with vocalist Gary Yoder (later in Blue Cheer). Released in 1968 by Epic Records, the spaciously produced Kak album (Kak-Ola is the title of the CD) contains, among others, the brilliant, 8-minute "Trieulogy" (with a manic, extended wah-wah guitar solo) - one of the best tracks in the history of American psychedelia; besides that the mystical, acid-folk-rock, 6-minute "Lemonade Kid"; several heavier, guitar-driven numbers in the style of a heavier Moby Grape and one track each from the realm of blues and country rock. Enriched with an attractive booklet, British edition by Big Beat. Highly recommended! (JL) -

A British progressive group founded by two former members of Quintessence: the vocalist and the guitarist. The album, released in 1973, at moments strongly resembled the style of Quintessence, although the music is less spiritual. At times you can hear influences of classic rock in the vein of The Faces. In addition two live recordings from the period, one unreleased studio recording from 1973 and two brand new tracks. -

The Brits harked back to the style of psychedelic Beatles and the duo Simon & Garfunkel, only they were even more fairy-tale and dreamlike. You simply have to know it and have it!
