KALEVALA - People No Names / Boogie Jungle (1972-75) - EU Walhalla Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Another excellent band from Scandinavia - this time from Finland. The first, superb, decidedly progressive album from 1972 was based on heavy guitar riffs, a slightly bluesy mood and strong vocals. Something in the vein of Culpeper's Orchard and Wishbone Ash. You listen to this in one breath! For me this record is top ten (perhaps top five...) of Scandinavian rock! The second record on this single CD ("Boogie Jungle") was in a much lighter vein. Highly recommended! (JL)
