BREAKOUT – Karate - Polskie Nagrania / Warner Music Poland Edition (SACD Hybrid) - LISTEN

Karate (1972) is one of Breakout's most important albums, on which Tadeusz Nalepa develops the raw, strongly blues-rooted formula known from the earlier album Blues. Nalepa's characteristic guitar riffs and solos, Tadeusz Trzciński's harmonica and the sparing yet expressive rhythm section of Jerzy Goleniewski and Józef Hajdasz create a cohesive sound, particularly convincing on the tracks "Daję ci próg", "Rzeka dzieciństwa" and the extended "Karate". The album achieved gold record status in 1974 and to this day remains a classic of Polish blues rock.
