An English band with a single, but excellent album, released in 1971 only in the USA. Slow, heavy, guitar-driven sound very much resembling the work of Mountain and Free, but above all Leaf Hound and Jodo. An edition from the Spanish label Guerssen, from 2023, on black vinyl. Highly recommended! (JL) -

OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Wake Up +3 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Out Of Focus are without doubt one of the 10 best progressive bands of the 70s from outside Britain! Released at the beginning of 1971 by the Kuckuck label (known among other things also for records by Murphy Blend and Armaggedon), a splendid album by a forgotten German band - in my humble opinion it is probably the best title from Germany in the circle of heavy, progressive rock! A brilliant combination of the atmospheres of early Jethro Tull with Pink Floyd and with a pinch of Colosseum - backed by very solid rhythm section playing and an excellent, pleasantly mannered vocal. Full of imagination and unrestrained power, a 78-minute CD without weak points! Additionally 3 linked-together live tracks (from Palermo 1972) lasting 30 minutes together are included! Excellent sound - slightly clearer than on the Ohrwashl edition, and a much nicer booklet containing several rare photos of this splendid band! NOTE! The short sound of a cuckoo clock placed at the end of the record always appeared at the end of each vinyl side of albums on the Kuckuck label and until now had not been included! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
CD
OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Out Of Focus (2nd Album) +3 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in September 1971, the splendid second album by the progressive Germans strongly resembled the strongly Jethro Tull-like (with an admixture of Pink Floyd and Colosseum) debut (again 6 tracks lasting nearly 50 minutes), but was a somewhat more jazzy work, even more inspired by the work of the beloved and very influential in Germany group Colosseum. This is another CD without any filler! As on the brilliant debut, 3 live tracks (from Palermo, Italy, from May 1972) lasting 30 minutes together are included! Excellent sound - slightly clearer than on the old Ohrwashl 1991 edition, and the disc contains a nicer booklet again collecting several rare photos of this splendid band! NOTE! The short sound of a cuckoo clock placed at the end of the record always appeared at the end of each vinyl side of albums on the Kuckuck label and until now had not been included! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

OUT OF FOCUS (see also: Sahara) - OUT OF FOCUS - Out Of Focus - GRE Missing Vinyl Remastered Press - LISTENprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
Official, Greek edition from Missing Vinyl of the brilliant second album by one of literally a handful of the best, progressive formations from continental Europe! A brilliant combination of the moods of early Jethro Tull with Pink Floyd and a pinch of Colosseum, backed by very solid playing by the rhythm section and an excellent, pleasantly mannered vocal. A record without weak points! It is a record minimally more jazzy than the LP "Wake Up", but even more varied and, like the band's third, "Four Letter Monday Afternoon", at the same high level as the debut! Both of OOF's earliest albums are the absolute peak of thoroughbred, progressive playing! A MUST! -
CD
OWEN, RAY -MOON- (see also: Juicy Lucy / Andromeda) - RAY OWEN'S MOON - Moon - AUT Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Reissue of the great, released in 1971 by Polydor, only album by the British heavy rock formation Moon, led by Ray Owen - the vocalist known from the Juicy Lucy debut. The group's line-up included the Methuselah guitarist Les Nicol and Ian McLane - the drummer known from the Andromeda album! The band presented heavy, dynamic and quite intense guitar playing with slight influences of psychedelia and blues. The record has a very nice version of Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile"! Excellent sound quality, though very modest artwork (as on the vinyl). On the other hand the original vinyl sleeve showed nothing more. This is a real treat for lovers of old, heavy playing! Highly recommended! -
CD
PARRISH & GURVITZ BAND (see also: Knack / Gun) - PARRISH & GURVITZ - Parrish & Gurvitz - US Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Recorded in 1971, the debut album by a British band formed by Brian Parrish and Paul Gurvitz. The two gentlemen had met earlier in the group Knack, and in case anyone does not know, Paul Gurvitz was responsible for such successful projects as Gun and Three Man Army! The record was filled with ten very nice, catchy tracks, at times slightly folky, and sometimes even heavy-rock. The superb guitar parts of both main protagonists naturally deserve attention! It is worth noting that the drums were played by Mike Kellie, known from Spooky Tooth, and the keyboards by Micky Gallagher (including the Animals and Skip Bifferty). The producer of the record was George Martin. A remastered 2006 edition, in a standard plastic jewel case. -

PATTO (see also: Timebox) - PATTO - Hanging Rope - BBC Sessions And Rare Tracks (1970-1971) (2LP) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
This limited, attractively presented double vinyl, lasting nearly 110 minutes, contains the best, rare, or unreleased material, from 1970-1971, by the British group Patto - one of the most esteemed (yet all in all underrated) formations of the early 70s today. Slightly jazzy, slightly hard rock - decidedly progressive material with the brilliant, sharp, but rather twisted guitar parts of Ollie Halsall - in almost every track! This musician, who died in 1992 of a drug overdose, is now fairly widely considered the best guitarist in British progressive rock! I think Robert Fripp "can't keep up"! What Halsall was capable of can be heard in the excellent, improvised, 15-minute "Hanging Rope" - probably the band's best track, which in its day... did not fit on the debut album (it is among the bonus tracks on the CD)! The vinyl also contains a 25-minute BBC radio performance (known from the bonus tracks of the third CD "Roll 'Em Smoke 'Em") - exceptionally played for two guitars - with a musician from the excellent progressive formation Jody Grind! Sensational! Besides that, more radio sessions and four tracks that did not make it onto the catalogue first two albums on the label Vertigo! The sound quality is perfect, except for two great tracks, lasting 17 minutes. A must! Condition: NEW, but unsealed. -
PATTO (see also: Timebox) - KUBEK Patto 1971price: 40,00 PLN / 10,00 EUR
These 'out of this world' figures appeared on the front and inside of the British vinyl sleeve of the LP 'Hold Your Fire', divided into three horizontal and specially foldable strips (being the moving parts of these little monsters) - again the work of the brilliant Roger Dean. High-quality mug with a durable, highly glossy print (9cm x 20cm) and a comfortable handle. Dimensions: 9.5cm - height, 8cm - diameter and 0.33l - capacity. -

PATTO (see also: Timebox) - PATTO - Hanging Rope - BBC Sessions And Rare Tracks (1970 - 1971) - FRA On The Air - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This limited, 80-minute double vinyl contains the best, rare or unreleased material from 1970-1971 by the British band Patto - one of the most highly regarded today (but in fact underrated) bands of the early 70s! Slightly jazzy, slightly hard-rock - decidedly progressive material with brilliant, sharp, but quite twisted guitar parts from Ollie Halsall - in almost every track! This musician, who died over 20 years ago of a drug overdose, is now fairly widely considered the best guitarist in British progressive rock! I think Robert Fripp "can't cope"! Particularly worth singling out is the 25-minute BBC radio performance - exceptionally played with 2 guitars - with a musician from the excellent progressive band Jody Grind! Sensational! Besides that, there are more radio sessions (of great quality), and 4 tracks that did not make it onto the first two catalogue albums on the Vertigo label! Sound quality is perfect apart from 2 great tracks lasting 17 minutes. A must! -
CD
PATTO (see also: Timebox) - PATTO - Hold Your Fire +3 - UK Repertoire Remastered Expanded Card Sleeve Editionprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
Remastered edition of the second album by an excellent, progressive band featuring one of the best rock guitarists of all time - Ollie Halsall. Fairly complicated playing that does not 'catch the ear' at once, but is very rewarding after a few listens. Repertoire card sleeve with three bonuses. Highly recommended! (JL) -

PINK FAIRIES (see also: Deviants / Twink / Motorhead) - PINK FAIRIES - Neverneverland - UK Edition - LISTENprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
Pink Fairies were in a sense an extension of The Deviants' activity, and the attractively released debut album, recorded with Twink on drums, is an absolute classic of British rock! The centrepiece of this record was the 10-minute, improvised "Uncle Harry's Last Freak-Out" - a true, psychedelic, guitar orgy! Besides that the record contained rocking, solid, uncomplicated, pre-punk (in 1971!) playing on overdriven guitars - poured over with psychedelic sauce. Highly recommended! -
CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live In Cleveland, November 1971 (2CD) - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A limited, small-run, collectable 155-minute CD, containing mainly a great performance from Cleveland, Ohio, from November 1971, which after remastering sounds almost great - recorded during the American concert tour promoting the just-released LP 'Meddle'. The band traditionally performed its most popular/best pieces, including the suites Atom Heart Mother and Echoes! This is the PF I love most - still experimental, still charming with its psychedelic, decidedly rock sound, but on the eve of a huge, commercial breakthrough. Afterwards (after 1972) it was just not the same... Additionally included is the slightly worse-sounding, but absolutely unique, as much as 27-minute version of Embryo (unreleased on any studio record), recorded two weeks later! The reason for these additional 12-15 minutes was a breakdown of Richard Wright's keyboards, so the band had to improvise as a trio! A MUST! (JL). Condition: new, sealed. -
CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live In Montreux, September 1971 (2CD) - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
A limited, small-run, collectable 135-minute CD, containing mainly an exquisite and perfectly sounding, 120-minute performance from Montreux, Switzerland, of 18 September 1971 - recorded during... a classical music festival - 2 months before the release of the LP 'Meddle'. The band traditionally performed its most popular/best pieces, including as much as a 30-minute, brilliant version (with choir and small orchestra) of 'Atom Heart Mother', a 20-minute 'A Saucerful Of Secrets' and a 24-minute 'Echoes'! This is the PF I love most - still experimental, still charming with its psychedelic, decidedly rock sound, but on the eve of a huge, commercial breakthrough. Afterwards (after 1972) it was just not the same... Additionally included is a version of 'Fat Old Sun' recorded a month later and fairly widely considered... the best in history! This is an absolutely essential CD for every fan of the band, in my opinion much more exciting and simply better than the famous Pompeii performance recorded 2 weeks later! Note! This is not the version known from old bootlegs (e.g. 'One Of These Days' on the Swingin' Pig label) with a slowed-down ending of 'A Saucerful Of Secrets', but a completely perfect edition from the radio master tape! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! (JL). Condition: new, sealed. -
LP
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - BBC Live In Concert 1970-1971 - Paris Theatre, London, July 1970 / September 1971 (2LP) - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
ATTENTION! This is very similar material, but in my opinion even better than the legendary "LIVE IN POMPEII 1971"! This limited, superb double black vinyl released by Verne Records, lasting exactly 104 minutes and decorated with an exceptionally attractive sleeve, includes, among others, "Echoes", "Atom Heart Mother", a 15-minute "Fat Old Sun", the best 10-minute version of "Embryo" I know of and the only known live version of "If"! ! This is the BEST-SOUNDING and without a doubt the best-produced edition of the BBC radio LIVE material - ever released! The sound quality is as good as, and sometimes better than, the catalogue albums, and the vinyl pressing is perfect! This is a great treat for fans of old rock and Pink Floyd! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: MINT / NEW, unsealed. (JL) -
CD
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Collection Of Rare LIVE Instrumentals (1969-1971) (2CD) - SPA Top Gear - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 85,00 PLN / 21,25 EUR
Fan-club, excellent compilation, limited to 500 copies, of very rare, or exceptional, recordings by the band from its best period - recorded during several concert tours that took place between the release of the LP 'More' and the LP 'Atom Heart Mother'. The sound quality varies - from almost perfect (80 minutes out of 160), through really good (50 minutes out of 160) - to very average, but acceptable (30 minutes out of 160). But probably every fan of classic rock would like to hear what the only SURVIVING, live version of 'Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast' sounds like (which until now one had only read about in foreign books), 'Sysyphus' (also known in one version) played in part by the band as well, the 20-minute, mega-psychedelic 'Interstellar Overdrive' recorded with Frank Zappa on second guitar, or the experimental, very psychedelic and never released on records tracks 'Moonhead' and 'Corrosion'. On the other hand, the quality of these worse recordings is no weaker than the sound reaching us from the seats at Warsaw's Torwar... A MUST! (JL) -
LP
PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD - Live At Pompeii 1971 (2LP) - BLACK Vinyl - FRA Verne Remastered LIMITED Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
EDITION ON BLACK VINYL!!! Sensational! Limited, remastered (brilliant-sounding - truly!) edition from the label Verne on black vinyl, a double LP containing the full, legendary Pink Floyd performance from autumn 1971 - unfortunately never before released on an official vinyl record! The band was then still at the peak of its creative powers! A fantastic, almost psychedelic repertoire (including "Echoes" (in one, 25-minute piece), "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" (two versions - one of them previously unreleased) and "A Saucerful Of Secrets" (now in the full, 13-minute version). In addition, on the last side there is a fantastic, nearly 28-minute version of the suite "Atom Heart Mother", from February 1971 - played with orchestra and choir! ATTENTION! This is the same mix that appeared in 2016 on the box set, so all the tracks have the right speed, since the previous editions (transferred from the official DVD) unfortunately played a little too fast... Condition: NEW, unsealed.
