HENDRIX, JIMI - JIMI HENDRIX - People, Hell And Angels (1969-70) - EU Digipack Editionprice: 80,00 PLN / 20,00 EUR
Released in 2013 and advertised with a photo from early 1967, brand new material recorded unfortunately after the Experience broke up - in 1969-70. Plenty of nice moments, though generally this material is greatly inferior to the guitarist's best work. -

HENRY TREE - HENRY TREE - Electric Holy Man - EU Edition - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Produced by Bob Shad, 1970's "Electric Holy Man" differed from a lot of other early-1970s Mainstream releases in that it showcased a progressive streak rather than the popsike sound that was common to the label. Moreover, for a trio these guys sported a surprisingly full sound, helped in no small measure by Markish's impressive voice. Not being a big jazz fan, I'll be among the first to admit that I was surprised at how entertaining the group's jazzy forays were. 'Mr. Fear', their Traffic cover and the extended title track showcase that interesting jazzy streak with some stunning work from un-credited jazz guitarist Bill DeArango. Mind you there was still plenty of fuzz driven guitar (check out the second half of the title track), but it didn't come close to these other highlights and the group's most commercial effort; the ballad 'Lady Of Day' was also the album's most disposable offering. -

HIGH TIDE (see also: Misunderstood / Hawkwind) - HIGH TIDE - Complete Liberty Recordings (3CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
A three-disc set containing recordings by a British band combining the heaviest guitar sounds of the late 60s with the manic playing of electric violin, with heavy but juicy drumming and finally with the superb, Morrison-like vocals of Tony Hill - a former Misunderstood musician. The violinist Simon House later played in Hawkwind and with David Bowie. The band recorded two superb albums, "Sea Shanties" in 1969 and "High Tide" in 1970, besides which "Complete Liberty Recordings" contains ten tracks from demos and studio recordings from 1969-1970. Everything has been newly remastered from the original master tapes. The whole thing in a rigid box, with a 36-page booklet and a poster inside. A MUST! -

HIGH TIDE (see also: Misunderstood / Hawkwind) - HIGH TIDE - Sea Shanties / High Tide (1969-70) - GER Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Some of the most intense albums of the turn of the 60s and 70s! Sabbath-like guitar, vocals almost like Jim Morrison - plus manic electric violin parts and a dense rhythm section. Both records are wonderful, though for some it may be too intense an experience... A stunner! -

HOLDEN, RANDY (see also: Blue Cheer / Other Half) - RANDY HOLDEN - Population II +8 - AUS Progressive Line Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
ATTENTION! This is one of the best guitar albums of all time! An excellent, very heavy debut LP released in early 1970, recorded by the former guitarist of Other Half and Blue Cheer (from the brilliant second side of the LP "New! Improved!" - the best in the career of the creators of "Vincebus Eruptum"), and probably the heaviest and most intense guitar killer of the late 60s! The record was made as a duo (Holden - guitar, bass and vocals, and the former drummer of the band Kak, Chris Lockheed - drums). Some consider this album a prototype of doom metal (even before Black Sabbath) and stoner rock and pay 0-1000 for the original, mega-rare, original vinyl! Holden's story is very sad... In 1969 the guitarist got mercilessly into debt and bought incredibly powerful Sunn amplifiers - visible on the back cover of the vinyl. Then he fell out with the label, which was meddling in his music, and the entire pressed run of the album... stayed in warehouses and never reached the shops! At the same time (1970) Holden's manager, behind his back... sold all his equipment and took the money! Stripped of everything, tied to a contract and banned from performing, in debt, Randy slipped away from California to Central America and for many years made a living catching marlin (like a fisherman in Hemingway). He recorded nothing for the next 25 years... That is how the career of one of the most talented rock guitarists of all time turned out! I assure you that fans of intense guitar improvisations and heavy riffs in the Hendrix/Black Sabbath style will be delighted! This is the 2001 edition with an additional eight tracks from the nice album "Guitar God", recorded in 1996. A MUST! -

HOMER - HOMER - Grown In U.S.A. - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Another fantastic and, above all, very well recorded release from the Swedish label Flawed Gems. The only, excellent and very absorbing album by the American group Homer was released a few years ago by Akarma and unfortunately sounded terrible. The Italians used a bootleg vinyl as their source, so the whole thing sounded dreadful - as if it were coming out of a shoebox. The Swedes remastered the album superbly (probably from the original vinyl, worth 0), though it still does not sound brilliant (at moments you can hear a slight hiss - present on the LP as well), because the material was originally released by a private micro-label with a zero budget. Either way, the Homer album contained a mighty dose of melodic, psychedelic and generally quite heavy rock for two lead guitars - at moments with slight folk/country influences but above all with strong touches of British progressive rock - with mellotron, with nice improvisations (though the tracks are not long) and with sudden changes of rhythm! A fantastic album, full of emotion and catchy melodies - with only two slightly weaker (though still nice) passages. An absolute must! -

HONEYBUS - HONEYBUS - BBC Sessions 1967-1970 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A French black vinyl limited to 500 copies, lasting over 50 minutes, released in a beautiful, psychedelic, laminated sleeve, that is, the edition, awaited for many years, of the radio sessions (from 1967-1970) of an underrated British band, known above all for the big hit "I Can't Let Maggie Go" (1968), but also for charming, pop-baroque-rock tracks very close to the style of the late, McCartney-like The Beatles, The Zombies and Badfinger. This is a wonderful album, containing many compositions (including covers of recordings by other artists) not included on any of the band's official records (or singles)! ATTENTION! Unfortunately, exceptionally, I found nothing from the BBC archives on YouTube in very good quality (apart from versions recorded 50 years ago with a microphone from the radio), so the music files attached below contain the record/single versions. At the same time I assure you that the whole vinyl (pressed from remastered, unique, promotional BBC Transcription Service discs) sounds ideal! Condition: MINT, NEW, unsealed. (JL) -

HORSE (see also: Atomic Rooster / Saturnalia / Ibis) - HORSE - Horse - FRA Absinthe Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RARE - OSTATNIE SZTUKIprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
TITLE OUT OF PRINT! LAST COPIES! An excellent, unfortunately forgotten band from England with a fantastic, heavy rock album to their name, released in 1970 by RCA Victor. Horse presented great, captivating and at the same time catchy compositions with a raw sound, based on catchy riffs, a strong vocal and a good rhythm section. This record can be listened to in one breath, as there is not a single filler on it! Drummer Rick Parnell later played in Atomic Rooster, while two other musicians founded the progressive band Saturnalia in 1972. Excellent, clean sound on black vinyl! A MUST! -

HORSE (see also: Atomic Rooster / Saturnalia / Ibis) - HORSE - Horse +9 - EU Eclipse Remastered Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
An excellent, unfortunately forgotten band from England with a fantastic, heavy-rock album to their name, recorded in the autumn of 1969, but released only in the summer of 1970 by RCA Victor. Horse presented great, captivating and at the same time catchy compositions with a raw sound, based on catchy riffs, strong vocals and a good rhythm section - not far from the work of Led Zeppelin and Andromeda. This record can be listened to in one breath, as it does not contain a single filler! The drummer Rick Parnell later played in Atomic Rooster and the Italian Ibis, while two other musicians founded the progressive Saturnalia in 1972. Additionally as many as nine very good (and lasting another 40 minutes) recordings made in 1969-1970 (several did not make it onto the album), from the band's archive, are included. An absolute MUST! -

HOTLEGS (see also: 10cc / Godley & Creme) - HOTLEGS - You Didn't Like It Because You Didn't Think Of It - Complete Sessions 1970-1971 - UK Grapefruit Edition - LISTENprice: 70,00 PLN / 17,50 EUR
British, remastered CD from the label Grapefruit (of David Wells - the one from Wooden Hill and Tenth Planet) containing the somewhat forgotten, but once huge hit "Neanderthal Man" and all the other recordings of the musicians of an ephemeral, studio-based and quite adventurous formation that soon afterwards turned into 10cc. The album, released in 1970, resembled somewhat the output of Badfinger and McCartney combined with early progressive rock. It is really worth listening to the slightly Beatles-esque, 13-minute mini-suite! Highly recommended! -

HUMAN BEAST - HUMAN BEAST - Volume One - EU Magic Potion Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, limited, European edition of the only, very dark album by a Scottish, forgotten heavy rock trio, drawing on the psychedelic tradition. Released in a tasteful sleeve by Decca Records in August 1970, the LP, optimistically named "Volume One", was an exceptional and original work, containing seven compositions combining the style of Cream, Hendrix, Black Sabbath and perhaps early East Of Eden. Decidedly the greater part of the record, lasting only 34 minutes, was filled with very dynamic, partly instrumental tracks full of numerous changes, based on a countless number of Sabbath-like riffs and swaying guitar parts, the powerful sound of pulsating bass, fanciful, free but dense drumming and dark, amazing vocals. In a somewhat different, psychedelic style were the compositions characterised by an overdriven guitar sound flowing like magma, inspired by the music of the East, at times based on the interplay of acoustic and electric guitars. It is worth knowing that "Maybe Someday" in its original, raw version appeared on the debut record of The Incredible String Band. In my opinion this wonderful album is among the greatest achievements of the British rock underground! The original long-player in the British version is very sought after and is worth... 3000 euros! An absolute must! (JL) -
