Released by the German branch of Vertigo in 1972, Agitation Free's debut is without doubt one of the most interesting records of the krautrock scene, inspired by the band's journey to the Middle East. The oriental influences are not just an addition but one of the key elements of the sound, although it is not a literal imitation of the music of the East, rather an interpretation of it within krautrock. Guitars, electronics and subtle sound effects play a large role here. There are no distinct choruses or traditional structure – the music rather flows, changing mood and tempo. At times it is more rhythmic, at others strongly subdued. 2019 German edition, in a digipak, with an additional track from a concert. A MUST! -

"Disaster (Lüüd Noma)" from 1971 is one of Amon Düül's most raw and radical achievements. The music is largely improvised in character – the pieces develop freely, without clearly outlined themes, relying on repetition, texture and a gradual build-up of tension. The sound is raw, at times even primitive, with a dominant role for drums, percussion instruments and chaotically played guitar and keyboard parts. The recordings balance on the border between music and sonic experiment – there are trance-like and psychedelic elements, as well as influences of ethnic music and free jazz. The whole gives the impression of being more a record of the creative process than a classically constructed album. A 1996 reissue, only one copy, new, sealed. -

The album presents the early phase of the band's activity from 1969-1970, still before the clear split into the more orderly Amon Düül II. The music has the character of open forms, based on improvisation, repetition and gradual build-up of tension. Long, hypnotic structures dominate, in which the instruments function more as an element of a collective sound than as carriers of individual parts. There are elements of trance, primitivising rhythmics and psychedelic narrative, often devoid of classical song construction. A 2008 reissue.ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed.
