TETRAGON (see also: Trikolon) - TETRAGON - Nature +1 - US Lion Edition - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Tastefully presented American edition, in a 12-page booklet containing, among other things, a reproduction of the vinyl's inner sleeve and plenty of unfamiliar photos. This is a very good, and at times downright sensational, heavily improvised album by a German formation (originating from Trikolon), playing a mixture of organ sounds in the vein of The Nice, Egg and Brian Auger, with swinging, guitar-driven (slightly Purple-esque) improvisations - always against the background of a pulsating, racing rhythm section. The few vocals are in English. This is a record that will delight all lovers of solid German playing from the very beginning of the 70s. The production of the record itself is good, although one has to remember that it was a private pressing. As a bonus, an excellent 14-minute live track has been added - perhaps even better than the album! Highly recommended! (JL) -

TOMORROW'S GIFT (see also: Release Music Orchestra) - TOMORROW'S GIFT - Goodbye Future +2 - GER Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A second, slightly jazzy, very progressive, great album full of improvised playing, recorded with a changed line-up - without the female vocalist. Additionally two bonuses from 1970 (with the original line-up) lasting 20 minutes each, taken from the records: "Pop And Blues Festival" and "Love And Peace". Highly recommended! -

TOMORROW'S GIFT (see also: Release Music Orchestra) - TOMORROW'S GIFT - Tomorrow's Gift +1 - EU Eclipse Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Remastered edition of the debut album, released in 1970 (and worth about 1000 euros in the original in perfect condition - even the reissue from the label Second Battle, from the 90s, is worth 100 euros), by a great German group playing a rather dark variety of progressive rock in the style of Frumpy, Jethro Tull, Out Of Focus, Orange Peel, Julian's Treatment or East Of Eden - with a female vocal. 63 minutes of sophisticated, yet catchy, juicy music with the use of wind instruments (sax, flute). In terms of the instrumental layer it is an impeccable record, though some people have a problem getting used to the voice of the vocalist, who is somewhat reminiscent of Inga Rumpf (of Frumpy). I happen to like that vocal, besides there is not much of it. A classic of German rock - tasting much better after two or three listens! The CD contains a bonus track from a rare German compilation from 1970. Highly recommended! -

CD
TWENTY SIXTY SIX AND THEN (see also: Kin Ping Meh) - TWENTY SIXTY SIX AND THEN - Reflections On The Future +4 - EU Eclipse Remastered Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
FOR THE FIRST TIME ON CD AS ON THE ORIGINAL VINYL EDITION, WITH FIVE TRACKS - TWO COMPOSITIONS IN THEIR ORIGINAL VERSIONS! The previous two CD versions (Second Battle and Prog Temple) did not include the 1st and 5th tracks from the original record! Now there is the complete set + four great bonus tracks known from earlier CDs. As for the music... It is probably the best German record from the circle of heavy, progressive rock and one of the best in the history of heavy, progressive playing! Released in 1972 by German United Artists, the album is a mega-dynamic and fantastically produced combination of the style of Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Out Of Focus (without the horns) and Beggars Opera - with a strong and very thoroughbred, British vocal. Wonderful, strong sound, plenty of organ passages, sharp guitar solos, plenty of flute, lots of changes of rhythm - simply sensational! Two tracks from the original LP have been REPLACED here with alternative (perfectly performed), longer versions from another session; besides that, two bonus tracks are included - including the superb, 13-minute "Spring". This title had been released earlier in 1991 (in a paper digipak) by German Second Battle as "Reflections". Excellent sound and nice artwork! An absolute must! (JL) -

XHOL CARAVAN (see also: Xhol / Embryo) - XHOL CARAVAN - Electrip +5 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, limited, greatly expanded European edition of one of the earliest (alongside Phallus Dei by Amon Duul II) underground albums released in 1969 in Germany. The record, made by the Hansa label and dominated by long compositions of a rather dark character, was dominated by very lively, strongly psychedelic, improvised, jazzy, slightly Zappa-like, not devoid of ethnic influences, but kept 'in check', progressive music with dominant parts for saxophone, organ and guitars. In 1970 the band shortened its name to Xhol and recorded two very nice, but probably no longer so exciting, albums. To the contents of the original LP have been added 2 tracks from a rare single from 1969 and three excellent tracks, lasting 35 minutes together, recorded in 1970 for the legendary programme Beat-Club! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed.
