ALICE - ALICE - Alice +6 - AUS Progressive Line Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A fantastic album, among the best of French and European rock. You can hear the influence of Jethro Tull, Traffic and Family. Its subtle psychedelic-folk atmosphere (including plenty of flute) stands out, a counterweight to the prog-rock expression that dominates the record. Six bonus tracks. Highly recommended! -
LP

ALICE - ALICE - Arretez Le Monde - US Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A very good, second album in the discography by a French progressive band playing slightly folky progressive rock (with organ, saxophone and flute) in the style of Ange, Jethro Tull and Focus. Recommended! (JL) -

AME SON - AME SON - Catalyse +5 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Greatly improved compared with the old, crackly and hissy Spalax version (ripped from average quality vinyl) and expanded all in all with five tracks (including a great single from 1969), Swedish edition of the sensational album by a French psych-progressive formation whose members had worked a little earlier with Daevid Allen (before he founded Gong). The style of the LP "Ame Son" can be compared with the early recordings of Gong, as well as early Pink Floyd, Group 1850 and Soft Machine - with a pinch of Jethro Tull. This album, sung in both French and English, is simply superb, although it requires a few careful listens. I repeat: in sound this edition beats the old CD hands down! A MUST! (JL) -

CHICO MAGNETIC BAND - CHICO MAGNETIC BAND - Chico Magnetic Band +5 - FRA Absinthe Expanded Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A vinyl edition limited to 500 copies of the sole sensational album, released in 1971, by a forgotten French band, combining wacky psychedelic rock with Hendrix-style guitar and a stylish vocal à la Jimi. Fortunately it was not simple copying, but quite original, strongly swaying, sharp, at times downright wild playing - full of experiments with sound. Now worth nearly 1000 euros (in Near Mint condition), the album decidedly sounded more like 1969 than 1971. This version contains five additional recordings from rare singles. The sound quality is excellent! Highly recommended! (JL) -
CLEARLIGHT (FRA) (see also: Gong / Steve Hillage) - CLEARLIGHT - Forever Blowing Bubbles - FRA Spalax Edition +5 bonus tracks - UNIKALNY CDprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
A second, equally successful album from 1976 - one of the more underrated records of the French progressive scene of the 70s. Forever Blowing Bubbles is a fully instrumental, very vivid and "cosmic" journey that stands somewhere between progressive rock and illustrative music. The sound is based mainly on keyboards – synthesizers and mellotron – which create dense, at times almost cinematic soundscapes. ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed. -

CLEARLIGHT (FRA) (see also: Gong / Steve Hillage) - Clearlight - Impressionist Symphony - UK Press - UNIKALNY CDprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
"Impressionist Symphony" (2014) is a project by Cyrille Verdeaux, creator known for his work under the Clearlight banner, which combines progressive rock with influences of classical music. The album was created as a concept inspired by impressionism and the work of composers such as Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. The material was recorded with the participation of many musicians from different countries, keyboard instruments, synthesisers and piano parts dominate here, supplemented by guitars and symphonic elements. ONLY ONE COPY! New, sealed. -

CRUCIFERIUS - CRUCIFERIUS! - A Nice Way Of Life - GER Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
Remastered, German edition of the very successful album, from 1970 (the back of the case bears an erroneous date of 1975!), by a French formation (with an English vocal) playing late, somewhat eclectic, heavyish psychedelia with organ. A really very good record! Highly recommended. -
CD
EDEN ROSE - EDEN ROSE - On The Way To Eden +2 - US Lion Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
Released in 1970, the unfortunately only album by a great French formation, later transformed into the much more popular band Sandrose. The music of Eden Rose is early-progressive, organ-and-guitar, entirely instrumental (and good!) playing, a blend of the output of Procol Harum, Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, a more progressive Brian Auger and Hell Preachers Inc. Eight substantial, unembellished, at moments strongly classicising tracks with great, overdriven guitar parts and juicy Hammond organ. That is how they played only in 1969-70! Plus two tracks from a rare single. A MUST! (JL) -
CD
ERGO SUM - ERGO SUM - Mexico +4 - US Lion Expanded Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
A great, genuinely progressive album - without a doubt one of the best ever made in France. A very well produced and arranged combination of the style of early Family, Jethro Tull and Traffic (including flute, saxophone, violin) - with a good deal of instrumental parts. The vocals are rather manic - in the style of Roger Chapman. A very tasteful edition with a thick booklet and four bonuses. Highly recommended! (JL) -

EXPERIENCE (see also: Martin Circus / Triangle) - EXPERIENCE - Experience - EU Magic Potion Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
Released in 1971 by French Vogue on a double vinyl, the only album by the enigmatic band Experience (at the time that was a 'skeleton key' word), reportedly formed by musicians of the progressive groups Martin Circus and Triangle. The record was filled with 76 minutes of early-progressive playing (with strong influences of psychedelia, but also heavy rock and a pinch of jazz) based on the interplay of dominant Hammond organ and electric guitar, a juicy rhythm section and flute and saxophone parts. The whole was modelled on the work of Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, Procol Harum and Jimi Hendrix and sounded more like British rock of 1969-1970, but inevitably France was a little behind... The whole is great to listen to (even despite the weak vocals in Gimmie Some Lovin') and I recommend especially the last part of the record, where the band presented an instrumental cover of 'Let There Be More Light' by Pink Floyd (from their LP A Saucerful Of Secrets'), strangely titled here 'Let's Be More Light' and supposedly composed by... Nick Mason! Roger Waters would not be happy! A MUST! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -
LP
JACK, ALAN -CIVILIZATION- (see also: Coeur Magique) - ALAN JACK CIVILIZATION - Bluesy Mind - EU Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
The sole album by a French band (recording for the same label as Gong) with a vocalist singing in English. A great, slightly psychedelic record with a bluesy foundation - typical 1969. The guitarist later founded the very successful Couer Magique. Recommended! (JL)
