YARDBIRDS (see also: Jeff Beck / Led Zeppelin) - YARDBIRDS - Live Yardbirds (featuring Jimmy Page) - ARG Lost Diamonds Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The long-awaited CD edition of the legendary album recorded in March 1968 and released by American and Canadian Epic in 1971. Unfortunately, after just a few days the LP was withdrawn from sale following fierce opposition from Jimmy Page, which of course made the record a considerable rarity on the spot. Playing as a quartet, the Yardbirds appear here as a genuine psychedelic formation, on the one hand still mindful of their rhythm'n'blues roots, but playing with rock verve and not shying away from long improvisations - as befitted 1968! The band even plays "I'm Confused" here - an early version of "Dazed And Confused" (a song Page stole in 1967 from one Jake Holmes). This is sensational material and I admit honestly - alongside the 1966 album and the classic singles - it is without a doubt the best thing this wonderful band ever recorded! Seriously - this is an obligatory CD for every rock fan - also because of the good sound quality. A must! (JL) -

A brilliant, second British album, commonly known as "Roger The Engineer". It is hard to believe that it was the only studio, British, catalogue album! A four-disc set containing three CDs with material from the Jeff Beck era, while the fourth documents the period when Jimmy Page replaced him. Over the last 25 years several editions of Yardbirds BBC material have appeared, but 30 of the tracks included here have not been heard since they were broadcast, and almost all the rest are marked either by a huge improvement in quality, or at least sound better compared with previous releases. -

YES - YES - Looking Around - A Collection Of Rare Live Tracks 1969-1970 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Released in an attractive sleeve, a single French vinyl limited to 500 copies, being a nearly hour-long and truly excellent compilation of very rare, unique live recordings by the band from its earliest period - recorded during the period of the first two albums, between the autumn of 1969 and the summer of 1970 - with the guitarist Peter Banks, the keyboard player Tony Kaye and Bill Bruford on drums. The album contains three recordings from the Beat-Club programme, from November 1969, a live version of the rare, excellent single "Something's Coming" from August 1969 and a half-hour performance from Cologne, from April 1970 - recorded just before the departure of the band's original guitarist. This performance sounds much better than the material on YouTube (link below), and was also sped up slightly - to the original tape speed. The sound quality is very good, or ideal, and the black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! Condition: NEW, unsealed. -
